I'm 35, I have oily skin, and I use CeraVe products almost exclusively. I was super excited when I saw this product come out and I ran right out and got it. But, alas, it broke me out. I tried it more than once, then gave it to a friend. I was SO disappointed!
I’ve been on .25 Retin a with no irritation a little peeling. I’m very tolerable because I’ve been a skincare specialist and used so many peels lasers. If you want to try Retin a go slow with lowest strength n maybe once a week to two the next week till you can handle at least 3-4 nights a week use the retinol in between. Being in 30’s is a good time to start to prevent then you won’t have to worry as much and be aggressive. Just a tip. Not pushing it, you need to know your skin don’t be afraid it’s not for everyone but it is the only scientific product to rid wrinkles. Think on it and research because you can find Retin a cheaper and without a prescription because if not it’s 100$ for tube of lower strength up to 350 for higher. Retinol is good product also

You may not have dramatic anti-aging effects from this CeraVe serum, but still dramatic results as far as skin texture (acne) and tone. I've had amazing results from a few retinol serums.

Talking about ingredients... Mineral oil and lots of alcohol...not the best for me. PEG ...so bad for the environment...sorry, but these ingredients are NOT good.

There is no mineral oil in this product. And the alcohols in this product are the non-drying alcohols. And bad for the environment? You fear mongers crack me up. I suppose you only use natural ingredients right? Hmmm ever thought of where your natural ingredients come from? Do you realize that rainforrests and other wildlife inhabitants are being destroyed due to the need for natural in your skincare? Even if it says its from a sustainable source its false. As many trees and plants theyre destroying to make these naturals products theres no way anyone could ever plant enough of these to grow back that quickly to replace the destroyed ones. Please stop making false claims and do your research.

Agreed. It drives me nuts when manufacturers do not tell you what the percentage is!
I just checked the ingredient list on Amazon, and Retinol is listed very low on that list, so it does not contain a lot.

Tina Cross hey Tina! I applied it every other day and noticed results. It is probably gentle enough to use daily if you wanted, but it depends on how sensitive your skin is 👍🏻

I went to research this product. I can't find a percentage of retinol on the package. I currently use 4%.
Bobbi Clinger I haven’t been able to find this information either. Because the company makes no mention of the retinol concentration, I would assume the amount of retinol is rather small. Anything higher than 1% requires a prescription, so it’s definitely less than that since it’s OTC. If your skin’s already used to a higher percentage, this might not be strong enough for you. Hope this helps!

Someone told me cereave is not good for skin- they said it has drying properties.
Sunflowershowers Im not sure about tbis product but the CerVe cleanser and moisturizer dried my skin out. The moisturizer also sat on my skin and flaked off during the day...very weird. Nebmver had that happen before.
I cannot recommend this product. It contains mineral oil, alcohol, parabens, and other harmful or unnecessary ingredients. The tingling that the lady feels is probably from the aspirin in this product (salicylic acid), not retinol, and that should not be used regularly on the skin without also using an alkali neutralizer regularly, such as baking soda.
Here is the ingredients list for this product:
Purified Water, Glycerin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Ammonium Lactate, Salicylic Acid, Triethanolamine, Cetyl Alcohol, Niacinamide, PEG-100 Stearate, Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3 in Corn Oil), Ceramide 3, Ceramide 6-II, Ceramide 1, Cholesterol, Phytosphingosine, Hyaluronic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone, Methylparaben, Edetate Disodium, Propylparaben, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum.
This does NOT contain mineral oil. AND the alcohol contained is this is NOT the drying alcohol. AND parabens are the safest preservative in beauty products. Stop being a fear monger and educate yourself on skincare ingredients before you make false and ridiculous statements such as this. There is absolutely NO scientific proof that states parabens are harmful to humans in skincare. And salicylic acid is a great ingredient for both anti aging and acne. Baking soda btw is HORRIBLE for your skin. Any legitimate dermatologist will tell you that. Its one of the most irritating ingredients next to fragrance.
