  • How I shifted my mindset to manifest the life I wanted. Thanks to Squarespace for sponsoring this video! Go to squarespace.com/lynetteadkins for 10% off.
I used to let negative thoughts control my life. I felt discouraged by my situation, bitter towards others, and that I didn't have much control over my life. Eventually I realized I had to make a mindset shift, and appreciate the present to manifest the future I wanted. Tapping into the law of attraction and reprogramming my mind to think more positively completely transformed my life. In this video, I share how I did it!

the only downside to reprogramming your mind is how lonely it might get. you start noticing so many things that you must change in order to thrive both mentally & physically. you have to let go of so many people, habits, beliefs. it's a tough process but i truly believe it's worth it.

Girl yes, once I learned that you can manifest things effortlessly and this is what I did:
Graduated with a 2.5 GPA in Civil Engineering Degree from Purdue
Worked for the number one Construction Company in the Nation (they never asked for my gpa 🤷🏾‍♀️) I’m
Retired from Engineering at 27 years old
I put in minimal effort to get by and realized that stressing over a job or degree isn’t worth it. Plus I got everything I wanted and people hated me for it because they saw me put in little work and get the dream job everyone wanted 🤷🏾‍♀️!

      How did you manifest?

    • @journeytoloveparis
      @journeytoloveparis 3 ปีที่แล้ว +26

@@najathanice4183 wake up every day and visualize the end goal. For instance, I was in engineering school so I visualized walking across the stage in first person. I was very detailed in my visualization. I heard graduation music, my name and my classmates names, and I felt like I actually graduated so I would cry during my graduation (the more you feel like you did it the better the manifestation). Then when I wake up from my visualization I would go on with my day “as if” it already happened. Because of this it didn’t matter if I failed an exam or missed homework. I truly believed (kept having faith no matter what) that I graduated so I kept that attitude and didn’t look back like ole man I failed that test. I would say “well it all works in my favor”.

I was reading a book entitled "The Art of Noticing" and the very first page says "PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU PAY ATTENTION TO." And I think this can be used in dream planning, in the positives and negatives of life, by paying attention to the things that give you life and paying attention the the things that take your life. Reprograming starts by noticing, just like you've said; and taking control by staying out of auto-pilot mode. Love this video! I know I need to take more control in the areas that I love.

I think as a child I was given ideas about life and myself unconsciously by my parents and painful experiences, that shaped the way i coped with life and believed in myself. I am excited to start this journey of reprograming my mind but it always hurts knowing you might have to give up people you love for a while because they are toxic. Could you make a video on how to deal with letting go of family members and or friends that you love and might not be clearly toxic but are for your own health and growth and how to do that. This is such a great perspective shift, I think it can also go the other way as well! I've had clients who when they're really honest with themselves, they're like "who am I to implement health habits, mindset shifts, etc. - to get to live the life I desire?" when there are so many people struggling, when there's so much strife in the world. And really we can focus on that, or we can focus on getting to a place where we have the capacity to actually pursue our passions and do something about all the bad sh*t we see in the world! Otherwise we're stuck in learned helplessness, and we aren't of use to anyone

    Unlearn everything :
Start questioning and observing everything in life and see what fullfils you and what doesn't.
Question each and everything thing; friends, family, relationships etc.
    It will take time...
    Something we can't change:
For ex, you can't drop out, so that's like an essential.
What are the essentials and non-essentials in your life ?
What you can control: going to gym, how you treat yourself after gym, how you spend your time. Spending less time on social media can help you focus /find your passion.
    Don't forget that you're a playing a game:
Don't emotionally invest yourself in the non-essentials , put in the amount of effort that is just needed. Not more.
Play the game, constantly recognize that you're playing a game.
You can go and put time in what you actually want to do.

      Take control:
Once everything is sorted , take control om things you have to do to build your dream life.
Look at your limiting beliefs .
      Manifestation, scripting, shadow work.
Lay out step by step things and overcome the limiting beliefs.
Make a list of things you need to do to start XYZ. Start with creating a website. Squarespace is a good site.

It is important to be competent and successful while working, studying or pursuing your dreams. I've learned alot through helping others and those skills I easily apply to my various endeavours. I have learned to be resilient, thorough, communicate effectively and to elevate my mindset. You realize quite early that some work environments or courses of study are just not fulfilling you as a person. Ironically those same experiences steer towards what you really want. I'd say to anyone reading this to take action on their dreams today even if you start small. Slow progress is still progress!

I felt exactly the same as you did when I hear people talk about following your dreams. Not sure if I was just pessimistic or being realistic, but following one's dreams seem easier said than done. I've always thought one has to be lucky/fortunate enough, disciplined enough, rich enough, resourceful, or sociable enough to make it happen. But now when I see people living their dreams, I admire them because I know they must've worked hard and sacrificed a lot to get there. I still get upset at myself though when I realize that my dream is far out of reach and that my current reality doesn't align with my dream. I can make plans, but taking action into it is the hardest part for me.

I really found it inspiring and insightful that you adressed this in such a realistic way, saying things you can change right now and things you can't - but can work on changing in the future. There's too much advice which is like "quit everything! do what you love, don't waste a second on anything that doesn't fulfill you 100%!" and it always makes me feel so incapable, inferior and lacking in courage.

Thank you soul much for your videos! I'd say what was holding me back the most was the thought that I would be upsetting/disappointing the people who supported me during the journey I was on before I started my spiritual awakening. Letting go of the mindset that my decisions can not be made without someone (i.e. parent, mentor, teacher etc.) giving their advice or input has propelled me into my dream life. For anyone reading this, your life is yours to live and you aren't hurting anyone by doing what makes you happy. Go be great!

With me it's a simple thing as changing my hair. I know that I'm not happy with my current hairstyle (dreadlocks) ,but I'm forcing myself to go to the salon and put on the same hairstyle becoz my mom has always been the one who pays for my hair. And I feel like I am disappointing her if I say I want to cut my hair and start afresh. But I know that this hair is making me feel miserable, and it hasn't been growing for a while now

You remind me so much of myself in my late teens and early twenties. I had to let go of many toxic relationships. The party lifestyle just stopped being fun after a while. I wanted to focus on goals and I always tried to, but it was difficult because I felt like I needed to party to fit in.
One of the things I learned recently while studying sociology is that we have societal pressure. There are things we do, that we don't really want to do; but we do them to fit in. In my early twenties, I started to dislike Christmas because I didn't like the idea of receiving many presents. I had started practicing a mild form of minimalism and realized that my life was good because I was a white man who lived in America. I had all the privileges, I had all of the advantages and no amount of marketing could convince me that I needed that next thing or should feel incomplete. It was that realization that led me away from obsessing about having a music career that was once a hobby.
I had goals that I planned to hit at 18, 21, and 25 that devastated me when I didn't accomplish them. I look back now and laugh a bit because my life is so different. I have a wife and son which I never wanted because I thought of them as obstacles to achieving my dreams. I grew up believing that because I came from a broken family but now as a mature man, I have so much appreciation for building a loving family. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
Capitalism will try to convince you that you need that car, the big promotion, the mansion, and money but what we really need is people, love, and community.
