  • Is Frank Gore a Hall of Famer? It is a debate sure to rage on for at least the next five years. In this presentation we study his career, including his best runs, most impactful plays, and his lifetime statistics. In the pursuit of knowledge, we also compare his statistics to other Hall of Famers, and examine the expert opinions of others who have considered his Hall of Fame candidacy. It is only through such a comprehensive examination we, the public at large, can gain an educated understanding of the nature of his career and subsequent Hall of Fame candidacy.

Frank Gore's 66.4 Yards per Game places him ahead of many Hall of Fame Running Backs, including Jim Taylor, Larry Csonka, and Marcus Allen, as well as all three Hall of Fame RBs of the 49ers famed Million Dollar Backfield: Joe the Jet Perry, John Henry Johnson, and Hugh McElhenny.

    • @JoshBreakdowns
      @JoshBreakdowns  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Of the 14 NFL Running Backs to have scored 100 career Touchdowns, 11 are in the Hall of Fame. Adrian Peterson is yet to be eligible. Shaun Alexander scored 28 in a single season (2005) and is not recognized as a Hall of Fame candidate. And the only other RB with 100 TDs not yet enshrined is Frank Gore, who like Peterson is also not yet eligible.

Among the Top 10 rushers in NFL history, here’s how they rank by average yards per attempt:
      4-Sanders (4.987 avg.)
      5-Peterson (4.691)
      9-Dickerson (4.426)
      2-Payton (4.358)
      10-Dorsett (4.339)
      3-Gore (4.325)
      7-Tomlinson (4.311)
      1-Smith (4.163)
      6-Martin (4.008)
      8-Bettis (3.927)
16,000 yards is an incredible achievement (will we ever see 15,000 again?), and these numbers act in concert with that total: Gore was no compiler, he was one of the best to ever do it, averaging MORE yards per carry than LaDanian Tomlinson, Emmit Smith, Curtis Martin, and Jerome Bettis, all in the Top 10 All-Time, all in the Hall of Fame. Frank Gore outperformed Hall of Famers - not just any Hall of Famers, but Hall of Famers who were in the Top 10, ever.

Throw in receiving yards and Frank Gore is even more Dominant.
      Rank by receiving yards:
      7-Tomlinson 4,772
      2-Payton 4,538
      3-Gore 3,896
      10-Dorsett 3,554
      6-Martin 3,329
      1-Smith 3,224
      4-Sanders 2,921
      5-Peterson 2,386
      9-Dickerson 2,137
      8-Bettis 1,449

When SF had nothing else we had Gore and he put a struggling franchise on his whole back until reinforcements could come. In my opinion the most atrocious SB play calling of all time was not giving him the ball on that last goal line series.

This one gave me that teary eyed nostalgic feeling. Especially seeing him do well for years after he left. It's a tragedy we didn't give him a shot after he got the 49ers to first and goal against the ravens. I think he gets it in there in every other universe and we have at least 6 rings in those too. Gore was a real surprise and joy to watch from start to finish a real guy you could hang your hat on as a fan .. Thanks for the memories Frank .. Thanks for another great vid Josh!

In Madden 10, the added "protak", a feature where more than 3 players could be involved in a tackle (up to as many as 10). With a flick up of the right thumb stick, Frank could often squirm out of those piles for the huge runs we see in these highlights.

Considering the injuries he suffered at Miami, it is impressive for him to have such a long career. Favorite moment was when he broke off back to back 70+ yard runs for TDs. He was going off that year!
2:30 Not quite back to back, but he broke a record that was held by Barry Sanders.

The first jersey I ever owned as a 10 year old 49er fan. #21 Frank Gore. 16k yards, SF all-time leading rusher. Put him in the Hall of Fame TODAY. My all-time favorite player, up there with Rice, Montana, and Young. Carried the Niners when nobody else would step up...played on some horrible teams and STILL found a way to get all those yards and TDs.

It was a pleasure to watch Gore play. He was the offense the first 5 years of his career with SF. Teams would stack the box all game and he’d still get his yards. I think the craziest stat ever about him was that he didn’t lose more than 2 yards on a run for the first 6 or 7 years of his career.

Frank had some fumbling problems in 2006 & 2007 near the goal line... so Madden/EA gave him the "fumble prone" trait and a low carry ratting that they never revised all the way in Madden 14. I had to edit my roster to play Franchise mode just to do him justice.

    @imwithyou38 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

gore is the most imporable rb to ever play. hbe was different he ran with sight and very high football iq. gore at the U, gore was robbed of maybe being the greatest rb of all time.....thats a big statement but whe recruited at the U he could run a 4.3, was the hardest worker(the greatest football stroy ive ever heard....willis macgee decided he was going to go train in the snow and was there early but as he arrived he saw something that caused his to doubt losing his starting job for the first time in his life as he saw frank gore running sprints in the snow butt naked but holding a fooball and in boots......he knew gore was going to destroy teams but this was before the acls), loved football moree than anything or anyone. his acl's happened ing back to back years causing his to not be able to train, after those 2 acl surgery...he ran a 4.8 his sr year and got to jmust below a 4.6 by the draft time.
gore had to relearn how to play foobtall in one year....49ers drafted him several rounds ahead of where he was expected to go, now only if mike smith didnt pick with his emotions, dude picked alex smith because alex opened the door for his family the day before, which is wild considering aaron rodgers had to play against a nearly nfl defense vs usc in which he broke the record for more straight completed pass in row in ncaa histroy. also during this time the number 1 picks got paid a shit load......rodgers stated he was willing to take a very sizable contract cut to be able to spend more money to be able to build a much better team up. aaron rodgers and frank gore would have been the greatest draft for any team in history. we wouldnt have had to go through the worst pasing offense in history....rodgers was at least accurate and just like he did at berkley he could drop the ball into gores hands. there is very few people i hate in 49ers history...mike smith is one of them, the name no 49er fan is suppose to utter in kyle williams, refs in the super bowls who have no idea how to call a foul that lost us 2 fucking super bowls....
i know how frank gore was able to last so long in the nfl, when ever you watch frank gore that is about to be hit any where pas the LOS....frank gore will always lean into anyone trying to hit him. this causes 3 things, missed tackles due to your body being to high as they arent learning into him, 2. it allowed him to be one of the greatest pass blocking rbs( not including fbs) 3. it caused the contact to be much lighter on his body which allowed him to play longer in the nfl. this also allowed him to push through for a couple extra yards due to him having the leverage much more often.
frank gore when looked on paper with no extext hes a very good long last rb......in reality he is the anomaly, he is frank the tank, he is the inconvenient truth, the nfl player who had a chance at being the goat tkaen away from him, one of the nfl players that you have to judge by seeing him and not reading a bunch of stats and saying all these people were better. i bet nearly almost all those ELITE rbs would have traded places with frank gore.
gore is 3rd all time in rushing yards but people forget that he was one was a greaty catching rb when hes given the chance with it as he avged 8.5 yards per catch after his whole career which i dont understand how his catching wasnt used more.

One of the GOAT 49ers. I can't believe there's people out there that don't believe he's a Hall of Famer? He played for both my favorite NFL and NCAA teams (49ers & University of Miami)

Should have given Frank Gore a chance to run the ball at the end of the Super Bowl. Niners would have won it!

I was flabbergasted when Gore went to the Colts in 2015 - why did they let him go ?

Good question. I think Gore wanted to play at least one year in Miami, where he grew up.
