Theory for the oratrice finding Tartaglia guilty might have something to do with the abyss.
This is with unconfirmed consideration that the Gnosis is in the oratrice.
The gnosis are things made by Celestia, who are in direct opposition of of the Abyss.
Tartaglia has abyssal powers.
Oratrice is made as a thing to give judgements, so if an artifact of Celestia is giving judgement, it probably considers abyssal powers to be guilty.
I thought about that too it would make sense
Plus he previously talked with us (in Fontaine) about how there's more to his Abyssal power than he thought. I think his ties to the Abyss will certainly be a big part of the upcoming quests.

as dramatic as Furina is, i believe she uses the drama as a way to keep her people calm and controlled in times of uncertainty. I think she genuinely cares about her people what not trying to forestall the prophecy and ensure her people are pure and sinless in the eyes of Celestia. Something happened to the previous archon in Khanri'ah that terrified her beyond belief. I think we are all to quick to judge her as she is too quick to judge others.

So far, this is my theory about Furina's secrets.
Furina didn't want to become an Archon. As stated in the Kvharenah of Good and Evil world quest, the former Hydro Archon, Lord of Amrita, died while fighting the abyss the first time the hole in the sky opened up. Which happened 500 years ago. There's a possibility after that event, Furina didn't have a choice but to become a Hydro Archon even though she know that she is not fit.
It's obvious that she is weak, and in terms of intelligence, she doesn't have that much to brag about either. As a result, Furina is putting on this "act" and the Oratrice serves as the embodiment of Fontaine's "justice" in her place. I would argue that Furina may had also have a close bond with her predecessor, just like Ei and Nahida. The true creator of the Oratrice might also be the Lord of Amrita. Knowing that she might not return alive, Lord of Amrita left the Oratrice as a way to help Furina once she took on the throne. Neuvillette may also be a close friend of Lord of Amrita, who stayed behind to help Furina govern Fontaine.
It's funny that there's a drama about people complaining about Furina being annoying when clearly, there's more to Furina's character than her act. Even that sudden burst of emotions from her, 4:57 clearly indicates she's not just a brat.
The thing is…. Khanriah doesn’t have an archon. Its a godless nation.
Furina kind of reminds me of Mercades from Odin Sphere.
She was a young princess who became queen after her mother was killed in battle. She had to learn quickly due to being in a war and a coup from her cousin. Thankfully, she had people she could trust to help her and by the end of her story, she forced Odin (the man that killed her mother) into a truce.
Maybe Furina will go through a similar journey.
Neuvillette knocked Childe before he could finish his Foul Legacy transformation because Abyssal power is harmful to the Vishaps. Childe was blessed by the Will of the Abyss, or "Sinner" during his stay there under Skirk's tutelage.
I don't think that Child, (even with the help of Abyssal power) would be able to come up top in a fight with Neuvillette.

So Nahida said that Focalors reserves the authority to decide the final verdict.
But we don't see Furina doing anything like that. When her accusations are completely refuted she concedes and lets Neuvillette and the Oratrice declare Lyney innocent.
On the other hand, the entity that does fit the description of "has the authority to overrule the Chief Justice's verdict and decide the final verdict" is the Oratrice. We literally see it do that for the first time in its action.
Not only that, the Fatui already suspects that the Oratrice has a consciousness, and when Lyney tried to investigate its core he heard a voice trying to communicate with him.
Also reminder that Nahida's knowledge of Focalors comes from her connection to the Irminsul, not physical observation.
The most logical conclusion is that Oratrice has Focalors in it: it's the real Focalors or a piece of consciousness split from Furina or something. Although it could very much be a misdirection like how we were led to assume that Nahida is Rukkhadevata turned smol.
I think it's very much hinted already that the other side or her personality is inside it because as we can see focalors is afraid to do duel with anyone maybe because she becomes weak from making the oratrice whereas she put almost all of her power into is with her other personality

Nahida case is telling the players to take it with face value. The sage did say that rukkha passed away and nahida is born. And the sages are right. And at the end nahida did become a being that is the small rukkha, becuase she replaced her.
Not really, Nahida statement of The God of Justice having the final say is valid because the Oratrice is the Archon's will itself as it was created by the original God Of Justice. Also we know that gods can preserve their consiousnsess in objects like how Guizhong stored a part of her in the Memory of Dust then Makoto stored a part of herself in Musou Isshin and how Rukkadevata saved a part of herself in irmensul. So it could very well be possible that the Original Hydro Archon stored a part of herself in the Oratrice in case if she died the ideal of Justice she believed in will continue on. This could also explain why Furina didnt know what was going on because the Scale wasnt created by her contrary to People's beliefs

Let's say Skirk has mastered foul legacy and she considered herself to be equal maybe even stronger than full powered neuvillete. Childe still has a long way to go and he's getting better and better everytime we meet him.

I can already see arlecchino intentionally blamed childe for the case in order keep herself away from the court. Thats the reason why childe is present in the fontaine. He took upon the blame so that arlecchino can do its job. Now if childe is proven innocent then as neuvillitte already said he will compensate him the loss which is the hydro gnosis.

Well, we're pretty sure Arlecchino is the main antagonist of Fontaine arc so that is very likely. and also there's rumour that Sandrone will make her cameo at the end of this arc too.
Why the hydro gnosis? That sounds like a bit too much for compensation for his loss. There probably needs to have more things for him to compensate.
It finally makes sense why Mona left her rich life in Fontaine and prefer to live as a pauper. Her abilities can discredit the machine's judgement and Furina does not like it. It might be even possible that Furina wants her arrested with fictitious fraud charges.

I actually agree with one of the members of the audience. Childe is still a Harbinger, and they perfectly could’ve done another trial if they wanted to make him pay for what he’s done before, but the case of the current trial wasn’t related to him at all and he was obviously innocent. I’m confused as to why the oratrice could make such a mistake

My theory is that the Oratrice must have detected not “Tartaglia” as guilty, but “Tartaglia having Abyssal Power” as guilty. To be bestowed a power followed by sin will make you a sinner, and sinners are usually… guilty.
I think it might have something to do with the "it" that Childe mentioned near the start of Fontaine.

None of those crimes took place in Fontaine though so I don't know if they'd have the authority. Also going after the harbingers for their general actions is the same as declaring war on the Fatui whereas most nations seem to be trying to avoid that.
Honestly, I call bullcrap on this verdict. Leaving the final decision to a machine is like leaving everything that just happened to an Ai. And if they’re just going to dismiss all the evidence and trail saying he is innocent then I wouldn’t call that justice…they clearly don’t know what just happened but understandably it’s hard to admit when you know you’re in the wrong for something. But that doesn’t excuse trying to cover it up instead of admitting that something happened that shouldn’t have and confronting the issue to fix it. Besides- if they’re just going to leave the final decision to a machine then what’s the point of these trails if it all comes down to that one machine?
Yeah, but magic exists in this world. The machine is powered by the power of Celestia - it is quite literally godly power, so it's not hard to believe that by leveraging the power of the gods the machine can arrive at absolute justice.
Honestly They had no idea what to do here. Because this is the first time it happened. So far they are just rolling with the verdict for now until they figure out what to do when situations like this occur.
Childe won't be Imprisoned for long since by the end of Act 2 Neuvillete is starting to become wary of the Oratrice

@@vergil9981 When the charges are brought forth, the suspect is placed in custody awaiting a trial. It is in this accusation phase that a suspect can request a duel to prove their honor. If they lost, these charges would be brought to court where the chief justice and the Oratrice would make their verdict. If they won, they could avoid the trial entirely.
In other words, you have the order of operations backwards. And if you paid attention, Navia's father deliberately chose to die in a duel for his honor as opposed to painting a target on Navia's back for raising allegations against Vacher in court as she was mentioned to have already been selected as Vacher's next target. In exchange for his *eternal* silence, Vacher would have no reason to harm Navia.
Funny thing is there is a theory that Neuvillette is the hydro dragon we hear about in his human form that’s why he seems to hold equal power to Furina and explains why Childe got folded in 2 seconds as we’ve heard in Nahida’s story line from the Dendro dragon they used to rule over tevat and Furina is still a rather new archon that has inexperience he would be the counterbalance to her over the top silliness about justice and he says the line to Navia during her story that he “Doesn’t really know how to express his emotions very well”
Neuvilette probably spoiled Furina like a daughter too judging from their interaction.
More on that it seems that Neuvillette is relatively young maybe more younger than Furina, herself. If He is really the Water Sovereign reincarnated then hes obvs still learning about Humans, and their emotions. (it’d make more sense if this is his first reincarnation as a human supported by Orobashi’s statement and the ancient kingdom of Remuria where the Dragon of Water had not yet come to Fontaine, and that kingdom fell thousands of years ago) The 2nd archon quest of fontaine tells us that he doesnt understand Callas’ action even if Neuvillette is human, he is still a dragon, a predator- they hunt to live. Humans are very different, we establish famial relationships and bonds, and try to help each other out. Some may even go to the extent of sacrificing their own lives for the sake of others (Callas) and that part of humans, Neuvillette doesn’t understand (yet)
Nah if he's the hydro dragon, he's probably much stronger than Furina herself, it's stated that the Sovereign dragon is much powerful above the archon's league, as they used to fought against the Primodial One for 40 years straight. Even Apep called Nahida "puny god", she even said she could destroy The Seven if Nahida heal her. But i wonder if Neuvilette just the reinacarnation of the hydro dragon or the og one. As it said in the game description that one day the Sovereign dragon will be reborn as a human.

I strongly believe that Childe's arrest was orchestrated by Arlecchino. I think the altercation in front of the blacksmith related to the debt collectors of the Carabinere (I hope I got that name right) means more than we think. If not the result of an outright rigging, Childe *might* be considered guilty by the Oratrice because the Northland Bank loaned the Carabinere money, iirc, and Vacher was in charge of that group. So, in a way, the Fatui (and by extension, Childe) facilitated the disappearances. Remember that Vacher was in contact with someone, as per the notes found in the Sinthe lab. He wasn't the only 'higher up'. I think Arlecchino wants Childe in the prison to get him out of the way/out of the Harbingers. They really don't like each other, after all, and Fontaine is 'her' city.
I feel like the prison also has something to do with the production of Indemnitium, and maybe she thinks Childe's only worthy use is as a power source in that capacity. All that is to say, I'm expecting a prison break ala Boiling Rock in AtLA! 😄

I think the truth of the Oritrce is that it’s some type of collective consciousness or self aware AI… I know it’s based on the belief in Justice in Fontaine but- it shouldn’t hold this much power. Childe might’ve fought with us before in Liyue, but I know for a fact that here, he’s innocent. Whatever happened or how to prove it, we don’t know yet.
Basically it's a kangaroo court where the actual facts don't matter, only the facts manufactured. Someone tampered with the A.I.'s algorithm so that it produced the verdict intended by the hacker instead of the real one. It's like how Google engineers manipulate their search engine algorithms to favor results that have a leftist bent.
Agreed. Childe definitely deserves to be locked up for some of the stuff he's done, but he's not being tried for those particular crimes.

If the Oratrice has a consciousness, could it be that it recognizes Tartaglia as a threat to the nation in a way that we don’t see yet? It could have given the guilty verdict not because he actually has ties to crime, but rather to protect its nation.

This is the biggest BULLSHIT moment right at the beginning - "A verdict must be made regarding the INITIAL CHARGE", which was Childe kidnapping and melting females, in which he turned out to be innocent. Then he get's slapped for thing he did prior to "initial charge" as harbinger, which, yeah, wan't too pretty, Liyue incidnt on it's own is a helluva wreckfest, but it has NOTHING to do with accuations he was charged in Fontaine. It's like jailing up a person who already did his time for that store holdup he made in his younger years.

Have we ever heard of a vision stop functioning when it’s owner is still alive? Visions are supposed to be someone’s desire made manifest right? Childe’s vision not working right I think means one of two things. Either one, he is being forced to do something he so strongly disagrees with that his vision is responding to his conflicted mind (example being that he may be being forced to do something covert and against his honor code thing) or option two… childe is not in control of his own actions currently.
the entire thing is probably linked to that "it" that Childe mentioned near the start of Fontaine
some massive primordial aquatic creature
and then the entire issue is some kind of primordial water being harmful, dissolving people. and the prophesy mentioned the water levels rising, something that'd occur if you were to add a very large object (or creature) to a body of water
"it" might be linked to the primordial water, therefore meaning that as the one that supposedly woke "it" up Childe might bear (completely accidental) responcibility, thus making him guilty.
as for the vision thing, I think that the Oritrice is being run by the Gnosis, thus meaning that the machine is directly linked to Celestia
I think that during Childe's time in Fontaine the Oritrice detected him somehow and deemed him guilty long before the trial ever began
and with the Oritrice being linked to Celestia due to the Gnosis Celestia would've potentially been able to see this guilty verdict and the reasoning behind it, deem Childe a threat (potentially due to his links to the Abyss and whatever "it" really is), and potentially shut off Childe's Vision (Visions do ultimately seem linked to Celestia after all, if anyone is able to just shut them off or make them stop working I'd bet on someone from Celestia).
