On a different note, idk where the folks in the video sourced their food from. Think it's white-ed down version of Indian food. For spiciness, don't get me started on different North East Indian cuisines. 😁🤣🤣
I think usually the spices of the Indian dishes are toned down in the west but for Mexicans you can hire an Indian chef and have some real and authentic food. Mexicans and Indians really have a palatte for spices so it would be interesting to watch.

Further, while we also use Chili heat and Sour a lot, both are usually balanced and with the onion sweet. In Mexican cuisine, dishes are often sourness or chili heat forward. Fine margins to keep in mind when you're used to one flavour profile and trying to cook authentically in the other.

I find that Indians enjoy traditional Mexican food and Mexicans enjoy traditional Indian food as the flavours aren’t too extreme for either cultures to adapt to without having to make adaptations or modifications.

As a Canadian the title was slightly confusing 😂. In Canada an ‘Indian taco’ is a piece of bannock(fry bread), loaded up with taco toppings. It’s our indigenous native and Métis/fusion dish 😃
As an Indian I know that those dishes were not cooked correctly because of the "sweetness" they kept mentioning and the Baingan Bharta or Mashed Eggplant just looked horrible to me. Could be it's because Mexicans taste buds are different than people in India. One thing which has a hint of sweetness in Mexico is mole. Also has peanut butter or regular peanut in it. Guaranteed they'd love rice dishes and Shahi rajma. Especially the way my daughter Namitha makes it with local buffalo served with flour tortillas.

Did you know that in India, or certain parts of India, we have almost the exact same thing as pico de gallo? It's made with onions, tomatoes, cilantro, green chilis, and cucumber. We use it as a topping just like PDG. There are so many similarities between Indian and Mexican foods: tandoori and achiote, tortillas and roti, moles and curries, salsas and chutneys...two great cuisines!

Cook for a living for 25 years. I will say that Greek and Mexican is a great fusion combination. I made tacos with Chipotle and Cumin seasoned lamb, poblanos and grilled onions with feta cheese, and squeeze of lime.
I love that they had onions and cilantro for the tacos because as an American that was used to lettuce tomatoes etc, ever since I tried , cilantro and onions only are my go to toppings for tacos plus hot sauce usually Tapatio or Cholula 😋
Try El Yucateco salsa. Been using it for 44 years. As for cilantro. Indians use the heck out of it. I hear it was the trade between the continents which brought Cilantro to our continent. The stuff grows Wild all over south Europe all the way past India. Spanish and Portuguese shops brought us their products, and ours to the east. You know they have chorizo made in Goa India. Used to be a Portuguese colony.

I was once trying to purchase a different brand of tortillas at the market and noticed a man taking a pack of all wheat tortillas off the shelf. I asked him if those were good. He turned around and said yes. I noticed he was Indian. He said they were the same as roti. I tried them and they're the same. Flour tortillas are a Spanish invention. The Spanish preferred wheat over corn, and came up with flour. They made lots of different types of tortillas years ago, and even Amaranth tortillas, amaranth tamales, and sweet drinks. Not so much nowadays.
Whoever made this video should have used indian flat bread like roti also called phulka or chapati. Roti is made with different flour in india, wheat is common but in some states its made out of maize or barley flour etc. Also they should have served with diced tomatoes , chili , coriander n onion salad or with roasted tomatoes spicy chutney or with tangy spicy coriander chutney ( minus the spices ) . I think pork dish from northeastern part of india will make a good taco . When i was younger i used to spread spicy serrated coriander chutney on roti n top it with left over pork n eat it just like that without knowing what taco was then 😂 😂

You can also try some more post-colonial Canadian dishes like Poutine, Tourtierre, Nanaimo Bars, Peameal Bacon, or even a beavertail if you're inclined to make it at the studio!

They are a sweet-spicy chutney made of fruit, a mint-herb yogurt sauce, and a VERY savory hot sauce with the deep red chili. That hot sauce is on par with habañero or bird's eye chili. Would've been good with these tacos for sure 😜🙌
In India, many of the dishes ourselves, we prefer to eat with rice instead of our flatbreads(roti/naan etc). Especially like the eggplant and seafood. We also love to add fresh cut onions and cilantro to our meat curries as garnish!

Whoever made this Indian food, it wasn't cooked by an Indian guy. Indian food is flavorful with a kick of spiciness. I have made Indian tacos at home and they aren't lacking spices and hotness. Thai food in a taco is also great.
he said a taco ain't a taco w/o sauce but there are people that don't want any and some just meat too. I always like to spice up what I'm eating but even mole already is enough sauce on it's own, so the logic is a bit flawed there. I also make refried beans w/ diced chile, so it doesn't need salsa then.

I would say get these guys some Choris Pau from Goa. One thing they may not like is the ketchup used on it. Mexicans aren't crazy about ketchup like Americans.

I would think any of them are great with flour tortillas. A flour tortilla is similar to Indian breads, like chapatis or roti.

I always like to spice up what I'm eating but even mole already is enough sauce on it's own, so the logic is a bit flawed there. I also make refried beans w/ diced chile, so it doesn't need salsa then.

My favorite thing to make tacos from is cajun dirty rice. Top with some fresh diced tomato and pickled jalapeno :)

I would say get these guys some Choris Pau from Goa. One thing they may not like is the ketchup used on it. Mexicans aren't crazy about ketchup like Americans.
