I grew up in L.A. in the 80s and 90s. El Pollo Loco was one of my family's favorite Friday night (takeout night) dinner options.That was before they had all the fancy wraps and whatnot. Just the chicken, beans, rice, tortillas and other sides. It was always delicious. I've been on the East Coast for over 20 years now, and although we have lots of Peruvian rotisserie chicken places in my area, there are times I crave that flame-grilled chicken from El Pollo Loco. Glad to see their chicken still hits the spot.

I always get the taco salad because it's so good and it's super filling. My mom usually gets the chicken nachos. It's kinda funny that the nachos come with a side of chips and salsa though lol

I LOVE El Pollo Loco so much! The chipotle chicken avocado burrito is my jam. Love the salads with the cilantro dressing. Their avocado green salsa is bomb and their churros are really good too.

I had the opportunity to visit Cali years ago, and had the opportunity to eat at "El Pollo Loco", so much tastier and cheaper than all the others gringo alternatives.
The chicken thighs are bomb. The skin is the best part. There was a period of time in my life when I’d always buy a few thighs on my way home from work. They almost never made it home 🤣
Pollo Loco was better before it changed itself to become upscale, healthy and appeal to certain groups. Give me back the old school Pollo Loco like taquitos and crunchy tacos dripping in oil. That shit was the bomb. Now it's just alright.

A "Caesar salad" was created in Mexico city (not Italy) and the dressing has so much fat in it plus the carbs of the croutons that it's no longer healthy either.
