      A weak story generally doesn’t occur as it is dependent upon the lateral strength of the story. Since the column size doesn’t vary abruptly so the case of 80% of shear strength is easily achievable. In the general case, the size of structural members is always greater for the lower stories so no weak story case. Only for floating columns or wall discontinuity, a weak story may arise.
