Very impressive Niall. Can I ask what's the colour/number of the wire that runs from the ignition to the glow plug relay to give signal ?

    Hi Niall,
I have done a conversion of a W140 350 OM603 to a OM606, I have had a lot of things to overcome, but what has stump me is the vacuum lines, just can't find where to put them,
any help would be gratefully received. Mal

Yeah that's normally a very simple thing once you get your head around it. What's specifically is the issue.

      @@22rabbits Hi Niall,
basically I have all these vacuum pipes, not a clue where they go , the old system OM603 I think has more connections, than the OM606 I have tried various combinations, but with no luck, I must say I had to use the old mechanical pump off the old OM603 uprated by Diesel pumps uk ,
there a 2 vacuum switch valves, on the right side of engine bay that have vacuum in and out ports that were feed from the vacuum main feed to servo, from there I think 2/3 pipes come back across the front of engine and where they go I have no clue, I know 1 should be used for engine shut off , from some where on the fuel pump, 1 should go to the auto box,
so basically I need a schematic of all the pipes where they go and name of components they go to for this conversion, I am sorry but it looks like I need to start from scratch as if There was nothing there, thing is I had Covid when I got a local guy to strip all the ancillary components from both cars ready for the engine exchange's I asked him to take photo's but he didn't, my fault should had made it more clear, sorry its like war and piece,
but any help would be very much appreciated, this has been going on for over a year. thanks Mal

@@malcolmhaviland4399 ok so mainly you need the vacuum drawings for the original car. At that point most of the pipes will be come apparent.
Main thing is they are all colours coded originally. So from memory the brown pipe gets a vacuum feed from the engine (or brake booster pipe). That brown pipe goes up the drivers side of the engine bay to the ignition key switch. Then a brown pipe with a strip on it comes out of the ignition switch and too the shutoff valve on top of the pump. That's the main one sorted.
After that there is a shift control on the side of the pump that should receive a vacuum line off the side of the gearbox (at it's shift module) that's the gearbox shifting sorted.
After that is going to have a vacuum line off the light switch that will spilt into two lines for controlling the head lights hight adjustment.
The other lines for the most part won't be needed. And if there is still vacuum lines some might have been for the egr valves possibly for the door locks although in a w124 that's a separate electronic vacuum system.

@@22rabbits Hi Niell, the colours of the pipe work, are not original by the looks of it, a lot of the pipe work centres around 2 transducer's, but the only pipes I can find , coming out of the car, in the engine bay are, 1 grey which I think goes to 1 of the transducer's and 1 purple, the purple one just runs to the front of car and has a rubber end with what looks like a ball bearing in it.if I could find those from the ignition switch, I would be on my way, thanks Mal
