- The Urban Monk reassembles the rear sprocket and hub after polishing as well as details how he will layout his electrics tray. Finally he mounts an LED rear tailight, brakelight, turn signal and tests. He also provides an update on the cafe racer seat.

@23:55 I am wiring up the same brake/signal light combo on my GS450T. I actually bought 2 so I can stack them and hopefully get a bit more visibility. Excellent series! Subscribed =)
Thanks for watching and subscribing! Good idea to double up. They aren't the brightest brake light out there during the daytime. If I were building more of an "everyday bike" (as opposed to an art project) I'd consider the same thing. I also have the benefit of lane splitting here in California which lowers my risk of being rear ended exponentially.
@@UrbanMonkTV Yeah, I wish we could "legally" lane-split here in Tennessee =) Safer for everyone involved really. Maybe when everyone has self-driving or flying cars, the powers that be will allow lane-splitting for all of us peons =)

@@SaniveK_ Saw Utah just legalized lane splitting, so more states will follow I'd guess. It really is safer (UC Berkeley proved it) and helps tremendously with congestion. Thank you for your kind words. 🙏🙂
I had the same LED strip in the back of my GS. Not that visible during the day especially the turn signals So I took it off and bought some small turn signals to mount on top of the shocks and an actual brake light with the small Fender
Thanks for your insights David. One just doesn't know these things when ordering online. I have some other LED signals I can add later too. The sun gets pretty bright here.
If you do stay with that light, you may want to get the strobe box you can wire in to be seen better when braking. I saw the strobe box on Wish for $10.

Im curious. Do you know what they stock cranking amps should be?
Im trying to decide wether to go Agm or LI battery. What battery do yo have? And how has it held up since you’ve been using it?
Thanks for watching! The SM calls for a 10Ah battery. I went with a much smaller 4Ah AGM, but I knew that would limit my ability to crank the engine over repeated with the electric starter. Since my '78 has a kick start I resolved to use the kick starter whenever possible. Thus I could run a smaller battery. That said, when the bike has been sitting a while and is cold, I connect an external jumper battery to supplement power when I turn the engine over with the electric starter more than a few seconds. Hope that helps!

@@jeffreymontalban8416 That's how the SM provides the information. A loose rule of thumb is to multiply Ah by 7.25 to get CCA.
