- Retouching my older Unreal 4 remake of Emerald Coast with new assets and details as well as the beautiful new UE5 lighting!
No original Sonic Adventure geometry was used in this recreation, the level was recreated from reference footage and is scaled to Sonic's modern speeds.
Gameplay code provided by Infinity Engine+ (Now rebranded as Velocity+).

DUE TO FEEDBACK AND HONESTLY AN OVERSIGHT ON MY PART I HAVE SINCE MADE THE SKY A DEEPER BLUE
SCREENSHOTS: imgur.com/a/VPwBckP
Thank you to everyone who pointed this out, it really ties it together better now, I wish I had recorded the video like this haha.
can you like send me a copy of mono i dont have the account i used to own it on and i cant buy it on steam....... i need to play it man... its like lost media
I think the main thing I’d change is some of the textures. Emerald Coast is supposed to be a resort, but you have things looking ages instead of upkept. For instance, the initial wooden walkway prior to the first loop looks like an old structure when in the original it had guard rails and looked nice.
I think what I would have done is made a lot of it look like a resort while Sonic is actively using his speed to fling himself from island to island in ways that weren’t intended. I’d probably tuck small non-interactive docks onto any of the islands that had man-made fencing on it to show that normally people would take an hourly ferry or something to their own small semi-private island for sunbathing rather than zip directly from one to the other like Sonic is. The dock where the whale attacks Sonic would be a modern structure as well, but with visible damage and the gap being a broken section to indicate that the whale has been an issue in the area longer than just randomly deciding to harass Sonic specifically. Similarly, the bridge to the lighthouse would be a more recent bit of damage with a few things placed around to indicate that they’re about to start repairs. Maybe a badly-damaged staircase around the area you spring up to show that there was an intended route for normal people, it just got blown apart by whatever destroyed the bridge. (Maybe an extended cutscene showing Tails accidentally damaged it in his crash, and the only reason the plane survived that particular part of the impact was from the Chaos Emerald protecting it). Save the obviously overgrown setting as the hidden cove behind the lighthouse, showing that Sonic’s unusual route took him through an area that typical tourists don’t normally get to see, a small natural untouched oasis hidden away in the middle of the resort, before the last few islands return to the pattern of islands being actively used by tourists, and maybe add a few people standing around the outer edges of the final island looking over at the plane wreck, as though it only just happened and nobody’s worked up the courage yet to approach and see what happened.
Basically try to play up the ambient storytelling of the area, and make the assorted islands make just slightly more sense beyond random structures that just happen to make a course for Sonic. Like the loops are still there, but people tend to build around them and they’re more of an odd natural structure that Sonic tends to utilize more than normal people.
Thank you for actually showing the level and not making it a speed run and skip sections, like every other modder. This is gorgeous work, although it feels a lot slower than the original. I can understand why, since this is a completely different engine. Overall, good work
Sonic is too small, that's one reason why it feels slower
@@ChrisLuigiTailstbf if everything was the same size as the original it would be very hard to play, I think it’s a lot more spaced out to accommodate for Sonic’s speed in this engine. I know myself from working on Sonic Frontiers mods, it’s always best to make adventure levels a bit bigger, if you look at my final egg mod, the level is scaled up more to make it more fun to play.
Nice concept of a Sonic Adventure remake I like how people outside of video game studios are being experimental of making mods for certain games
impressive, and far more than we've gotten before, but it's missing the sega blue skies look
Ugly make it more cool and game like and ban boosting and it needs enemies and level stuff
Realistic graphics are lame
I love how sonic fans just assumed this guy was trying to replace Emerald Coast when they clearly made it just for fun
Like, bros, chill. The original Emerald Coast ain't going anywhere
So we're not allowed to critique anything because the original will always exist? Gotchu
@@TYP2K.stop being such a joyless bum

Literally who is doing that

Ngl, this is very impressive. I’m currently using the normal version of the Infinity Engine to make a Sonic fan game. The problem with Infintiy+ is that I couldn’t find any previous versions of the engine and the new version is like 3.9 GB which is crazy when people have to add things like cutscenes to the fan game.
I’m blown away. Sad to see comments who want to go back to older generation visuals. Especially the Frontiers slander in graphics. I want my favorite games to continue to evolve, not go backwards. Sonic Frontiers is absolutely beautiful. I love how they went all out on the graphics and still kept iconic landmarks throughout the islands.
If this is what a sonic adventure remake would look like that'd be awesome!
It’s realistic, but doesn’t match the artsyle
@@Kookie_13_ they did this in frontiers?
@@mistOmeter I’d rather frontiers not have realism, at least this emerald coast has vibrant colours
I wouldn’t mind if an adventure remake looked like this but I’d rather it look like emerald coast and not just beach
I’d rather Sonic adventure keep it’s late 90s anime style it has
@@crestofhonor2349 that’s what I’m saying
God I would kill for an Unreal Engine 5 remake of Sonic Adventure. I love the original, it's probably one of the best looking games for it's time and while the animations and voice acting are rough today and were rough then, the game still holds up well even now. A remake with all-new beautiful stunning graphics would definitely make me love this game even more! Hope to see this project get around to being finished, looks awesome!
Absolutely incredible! It has the whale too unlike the old video, perfect!
This is great!! Hope your project grows!
Sometimes it's interesting to think, how SA developers would feel seeing this in the past... It would be crazy.
This is, I kid you not, the best adaptation of Emerald Coast I've ever seen! Kudos man! I shed a singular man tear.
Man… looks gorgeous 💙
I think this looks stunning great job you should definitely continue making amazing content like this
Man this is amazing! I wish I could play this! The scenery is too good!
This is gorgeous! Awesome job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
God I love this so much! This is how I picture a Sonic Adventure remake!
this feels way more pleasing to look at then the original
Very interesting! Great work so far!
it looks amazing, with every little detail you tell you put a lot of effort into the game. Can’t wait to see what else you do in the future
This is epic thx for making it cannot wait to see more sonic games on unreal engine
I like it. This looks really good.
I instantly recognized all the areas the first seconds show xD
Love it
This look amazing ❤
We really need a Remake since Sonic Adventure DX was a remaster to the Dreamcast version basically.
Wow its awesome and amazing ❤ keep going bro ❤🔥👍
The major change I would make is simply to change Sonic's "arms to the back" animation to trigger sooner. Sonic looks to be going really slow when the animation is not happening. And remember, the animation would trigger more easily on the original Sonic Adventure.
Your work is impeccable! As a Sonictuber from Brazil, I've seen countless fan projects, but yours turned out to be extremely interesting, so congratulations! If you release a demo, I'd love to try it out! I have an RX 6750XT with a video card. Take care! 💙
EDP - I mean it's alright, like overrated as fuck
Sega hire this man
Impressive work! The only issues I really have with it is the overall lighting and the color of the sand. The ocean is the only thing really keeping it from looking like a desert stage rather than a beach.
Honestly, if it didnt have the exact level structure from SA1 and the music. It would be very hard to convince me it was supposed to be Emerald Coast.
But then again, SA1 had a realistic graphic theme for the time. So I guess it makes sense. But still, it shows how Generations had the right idea of keeping levels semi-realistic.
Bro, I can’t even recognize the level anymore from how realistic it is
how are people still doing “THIS IS WHAT MARIO WILL LOOK LIKE IN 2013” videos in 2024 😭
Could use a bit more stylizing and polishing, but otherwise looks great.
Map looks incredible but it’s too realistic. Assets need to be a bit more stylized as SA1 has that late 90s anime look to it. Other than that Lumen looks amazing
This look super dope ,
Hey man, awesome video! Tring to make a sonic like game was wondering how you set up the camera, looks awesome just like in the games!
This looks really cool :D
This is dope!
Good Job!
Fantastic!
When it gets too real to tell apart game from reality, that’s when you know the graphics are too good for their own good
Nah, this needs an oscar fr
The motion blur is so bad I can't see ANYTHING during the gameplay segments
Zammmm amazing
Japanese voice of Sonic : the best one ever after the first English voice ever
Whenever Capcom feels like making money again, I hope they check this out first.
looks good but WAYYY too much motion blur
If the sky was more blue this would be perfect but a very good recreation
Aaagh you're right! I can't believe I didn't change that.
There's a million things I could've still done but decided to stop myself here but now I feel dumb cus the sky would've taken 10 seconds to fix!
O well.
this goes hard
If we EVER get adventure remakes, I really hope this is NOT what they will look like.
This looks really well done and with tons of effort behind it tho, but not the best fit for sonic, more like uncharted. Cheers for the results, regardless, and much love
Imagine if Sonic Adventure remake look like this, I'm maybe gonna spend my whole money on this game ngl
Did Sonic learn the Rising Tackle from Terry Bogard? Cool! 💪
Holy moly.
this reminds me of kronos island fron sonic frontiers
This is awesome i have no words!
Its like what Sonic Boom was promised to be.
This feels like of Sonic O6 tried to be what Sonic Adventure already was 😅😆🤭👌
That whale chase puts Sonic 06 to shame
F***ing amazing.
TEN OUT OF TEN
This would look amazing with the sonic dash or sonic speed battle model of movie sonic or a really realistic, accurate sonic movie model. Potentially what sonic 3 movie may look like?
Just imagine Twinkle Park redone in this style
IS THIS REAL LIFE
Holy motion blur
This looks amazing. I'd love to see Sonic Heroes in this style. Unfortunately Sega seems to have forgotten that game exists
Sadly for sonic heroes, they don't own it completely anymore, some stories about the engine used, EA own now. Something like that (i kinda forgot the full thing), but yeah, this is why Sonic heroes is like "forgot in the past".
@@angelofthelight1 oh I had no idea. They could just remake the whole thing using a different engine then, but I guess they don't see a lot of money to be made out of that investment...

@@TYP2K. Soooo.....
we consider Midori a liar then
yo, frontiers 2 looks fire
I like how this looks I only got one problem Sonic’s movement just looks a bit off balance when he runs there is even a problem when he goes on springs but everything else is amazing!
He does look a bit slow. You could add some kind of boost that isn't over bearing like in Sonic Frontiers or increase his running speed.
Uou. Eu jogaria de novo se fosse assim. Saudades!!
SEGA, hire this man!
This will be Sonic Adventure graphics in 2012
Agora faltam os robôs e demais itens... da ora!!🤩
I would raise the camera a bit
Has no charm.
a hint at the release of the remake game?
si un fan lo puede hacer porque sega no?? lpm se ve zarpadisimooooo
• Sonic Adventure [ Remake ] (2015)
• Sonic Adventure 2 [ Remake ] (2015)
the vegetation could use an upgrade.
It almost aged well.
SEGA HIRE THIS MAN
Sonic: adventure REAL LIFE EDITION?
You need to work more on the jumps. They ain't high enough.
This looks AMAZING!!! Take notes, SEGA!
game play part of the video feels somehow slower than sonic adventure
Better than sonic frontiers for graphic
Bro so the Unreal Engine leaks and said "NOT ON MY WATCH"
Seriously wish Sonic Team switched over to Unreal Engine so we could get visuals like these, though I would want them to go with a more stylized art style than what’s presented here.
Apparently they just did
@@bobthebusbuilder2478 Yeah hopefully.
It should be realistic or semirealistic since the adventure era is about realism in the most part
@@k_artcam let's just go for semi-realism, it fits better for the mainline sonic games. And because I want more video games that looks like semi-realistic animated films.
Why is this so hard for Sega
si sega llegara a hacer un remake del sonic adventure con el unreal engine 5 nos los cobra por 100 dolares minimo
reminds me more like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Doesn’t feel like Sonic’s world.
What happened to its sauce?
sega hire this man
send this video to sega pls
I think its time HE2 is taken out of business...
This vido makes me so dizzy, the motion blur and no momentum in camera, oh god
so much motion blur i think im gonna be sick
How did you failed to capture SEGA's trademark blue skies 😑 also way too much blur
I agreed that the blue sky was a very obvious miss on my part and an easy fix at that. So easy in fact I actually tried it with a blue-er sky today and have some screenshots here. imgur.com/a/VPwBckP
@@JeliLiam Oh, it's getting better now, but it's not quite there yet. It may seem like I'm nitpicking but I'm really not. I created an album with some examples so you can see what I'm talking about but TH-cam isn't letting me link it here, but you can just search on google images for Daytona USA, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio and Sonic Adventure to see some exemples of the blue sky on different SEGA Games. There's a dude remaking SEGA Rally for PC by the name of OVER JUMP RALLY and he managed to capture the right tone of blue for his game, he even made a post writing about how this was very important lol
