Haha yeah they are a pain to edit, takes forever. 3 trip out to get the photos and videos. Then half a day editing it all is the worst part!

The iPhone cuts out background noise so is subdued, lower, but in post you can do far more with it than a noisy wind rustling video from the other two? In post you can increase the volume and add what you need, but the others that wind and background noise would spoil it?
O mentioned just this at the end of the video. That wind filter is handy to have without that the Mi 11 ultra would have been better but the wind noise was terrible on it.
There has never been a camera comparison where I really thought the iPhone would win.
I want that hundred times zoom on a great big AMOLED screen ! Total Android fan, and I have been enjoying your videos for a couple years now. I have been watching your videos for a year-and-a-half on my mate 20x and I still cannot find a viable replacement. I really have enjoyed this phone and I have made my own videos on here about my garden although they're very immature.
In Kansas, you are limited to the s21 Ultra or nothing.
The mix 4 back camera really takes true to life videos and photos. I can live with the judder it produces because the detail it captures makes up for it.
The judder will b fixed in an update as always by xiaomi!!
for a UDC Mix 4 sure is the best out there, quite unique with the kaleidoscope like effects on the low light selfie due to the pixels in the screen and Xiaomi's software did an amazing job with making the selfies look sharp.

that's just my gripe with xiaomi phones, as video test shows stutters etc. it can be quite unreliable. Sadly that's why I'm keeping my iphone 12 pro max, even it's limiting AF, but at least I know that camera is consistent if I need to save memories, same gripe I've had with s21 ultra. Alto 12 pro max have it's own issues, like overheating browsing internet on a sunny day..
Very true the panning juders and stutter is a huge pain they all do it. Even my S21 Ultra before I sold it was the same but the iPhone has improved it is better than when I first covered it a year ago almost. I also have the overheating issues on my iPhone...
@@Techtablets yes , 12 pro max is not the best , but it’s never gonna be the worse so it’s pretty consistent and reliable in most basics. But I’ve almost crashed my dji mini 2 as screen dimmed to literally black , without charging it from second to second so in a hit climates or a summer it’s very annoying phone to be used on a sunlight . Then I had couple other gripes like copying photos and videos to a windows pc can be cut down by “device stopped responding “ , apple image format so every file must be exported to be able to work with it most of the time . Just saying I wish android phone are more pushing towards reliability and handing basics , not too far of a leap without basics being any good , whatever it’s a judder , colours shooting up and down ..
right! I have been wanting to leave ios for years now. But if I have to choose between an iphone, or an android phone + a dedicated camera.... i'll choose the iphone just to carry only 1 device.
I have a pixel 4a which isn't bad... but when I compare the video quality to my Iphone 12.... android's issues are more apparent. :/ shame really
@@rokko_hates_japan yeah , I wanted that s21 ultra and then new xiaomi 11 ultra or whatever it is called , but at some categories it’s leap forward , but it’s still not reliable enough . Like iPhone is never the best , but you get at least decent results . Not like sometimes the best and sometimes unusable totally .. for real tho hardware is a killer on these androids , but software sucks hard . Which is sad because I would dump my iPhone today being it different
If only 12 Pro Max had a better optical zoom and just one little IR Blaster it would be the perfect phone, main reason why i want to switch to xiaomi again

I have it and no stuttering or lack of stabilization. If you use it in 4k 60 is just perfect!
The footage of the 4k60 comparison also looks like it was set to FHD instead.

WTF Is crime in Spain really that bad post covid? I am European aswel, and I can't really imagine getting robbed on broad daylight.
At least some streamers I know tend to have someone accompany them. Either a walking alarm(woman) or a cameraman\decent runner. Besides, not every town is a shithole like Naples.
Robbing people usually requires a degree of subtlety and subterfuge. Gotta distract the target, have a clean grab and escape without attracting attention. Sometimes the escape is as simple as feigning ignorance, but that usually gets ruined by any sound a phone makes.
To rob a person shooting a video on camera stick - would immediately not only alert that very person(obviously), but also will be generally observable(Chris isn't really shooting some dark alleys). Sure, you could maybe get some 2000 euros worth of hardware, but you'll probably have fat cops actually getting on their asses for this case, because the bigger the target, the bigger the "GTA star level".
A proper robbery is how I lost my phone - as a tourist in Naples, while being a shitty cheapskate on a bus. Yeah, I was also used to being able to put my phone in a front pocket of my bag if necessary(and that's necessary for a tourist taking shots), but a little distraction from an old man in a bus can easily make you move your hands, allow someone to unzip your pocket and grab the phone. At that point all it takes is to suggest to check whoever's left the bus. And you are clean Ocean. Yep, I was that stupid, but that's Naples. Low gains, not a whole lot of effort, but that same old man would probably sell that phone on Piazza Garibaldi the next day\week(not joking, there are actually elder people going "Cheap iphones samsungs" there, and that's not the worst part of it).
Hell, I've seen this trick done to an american tourist while riding Circumvesuviana, although the gang did probably jump the train, because the tourist was too busy hysterically running across the train cars... And if I just lost some 400$ worth of phone, he lost a proper wallet with ID. That's a big F.
Another Naples story is, obviously, a bike drive-by. Gotta identify someone being easy with their bags.
But the point is that usually when it's all done - there's hardly anything you can do about it. The police knows EVERYTHING. Even that they are absolutely hopeless, especially with no evidence. They aren't going to chase a stolen lollipop.
And then, of course, there can be assaulted robbery, but, like I said, Chris isn't shooting in places where THAT's a risk. But that, too, can happen in Naples, just in case. Every story is either related to me, to what I witnessed or to someone I know.
Great comparison. Agree that the iphone 12 pro max wins more categories but it does go way too warm on the portraits. To me the mi11 ultra was slightly disappointing. Too high saturation on video and some photos and the videos are also quite high on contrast so it crushes shadows a bit. Considering it's similarly priced to the iPhone 12 pro max and considering Xiaomi's other options, personally I don't think it's worth the price for the main camera. In daylight a regular mi11 will do just as well.
Interesting, thanks. I'd have loved to see a Samsung alongside those, to get a complete... erm, picture... of 2021 flagships. Sadly, Huawei is irrelevant w/o Google, though their hardware is nice.
I think the baseline is iPhone, it only fails the portrait shot. Also, best front cam. Looks dull often.
Overall I prefer the Mix 4. Doesn't fail either, I think more pleasing colors (probably exaggerated, but end result is more to my taste) and more details. Selfie cam is crap, but I don't do selfies.
the Mi Ultra fails too much. It occasionnally takes a much better picture especially with the non-main cameras, but the main camera shows loss of detail, poor dynamic range... the palm trees in the video are just pixel purée, no leaves to see here.
Again, for me it's not so much which takes the best picture at times, but which takes the best pic on average, and above all which never fails. Both iPhone and Mix clear that bar, Mi Ultra doesn't and I don't have the skill to work around that, and of the people I know only 1 person could use it competently, and would take advantage of its extras.
Under display cams seem like a fad that will fade. Pics are very bad, and a pinhole in the notif bar isn't that much of an issue.

For a company that started few years ago, Xiaomi has really stepped up, the mix4 has a lot to offer And will surely give the big dogs a lot of run for their money but the overall winner for me in this video is the Iphone 12pro max. If only pixel phones can step up like this, time will tell. Nice work Chris love from Nigeria

What surprises me the most is the level of optical stabilization of Samsung's GN2 sensor, I really can't understand why Samsung doesn't use it in their smartphones 🤷🏽♂️.
Yes it's really quite good and even the Mi 10 Ultra's Omnivision 48MP was just as good or even better OIS
@@Techtablets I just got a 10 Ultra and have to say I've been overall very impressed with the camera system despite the lackluster ultra-wide. It really does have nice OIS on the main lens.

Look how smooth the video coming from the Iphone. Megapixels/specs won’t matter compared to Apple’s hardware and software working seemingly.
I love to see iPhone being surpassed by other phones, but it really frustrates me to realize xiaomi videos are always full of drop frames, it's a nightmare! IPhone keeps killing it in the video area, but when considering photos other brands are able to keep up or even perform a little bit better.
Why you use 2x zoom for MIX 4 ? It has 5x optical ZOOM. 2x is only crop in... for digital zoom fro the main camera.
Ip12pm still the best with its cams. So stable

It is tough on you and all the reviewers that know the sd 888 is running way too hot. I took all of the 888(+) phones off my short list and purchased the Oppo Find X2 Pro. It has the EU distribution (ROM) and the price has come down to low 700s Euros for the black ceramic back. Also, looking at some Huawei p50 pro cam reviews I have the feel that the face/skin is overworked so much it looks cartoonish (the dynamic range looks artificial).

It's strange the mix4 has better front stabilization than the mi 11. and mi 11 does better with the main. but they both stutter and have weird stabilization issues that plague almost all android phones. they also lack consistency.
i don't care for ios, and the colors are often too warm from iphone. but at least the footage is usable and consistent.
Differences are so so so minuscule at this point that it really doesn't matter what you go with now a days. Great video TechTabs!

Low light it seems to be off but I had it on. I have no idea why it was like that, but the day footage the EIS was defiantly working you can tell.

I think now I saw the first step back made by Mi 11 Ultra ... Never before Iphone has been better than Mi 11 Ultra ... It will be a new failed update from Xiaomi, I don't realize..... But even so, it can still prove a lot.... Mix 4 is at the beginning of the road ... it will receive enough software updates to eliminate problems ... 12 Pro Max is stable, the same processing algorithm for several years, unchanged, which some like .... Taking into account the technical potential, I would also bet on Mi 11 U. Otherwise, LIKE for this comparison!!!!
The judder on Mi Mix 4 was there almost all the time especially when you were walking at the beginning of the video, the road was " lagging " on Mi Mix 4 and a bit on Mi 11 Ultra. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the clear winner here although the mic quality on the iPhone is so bad compared to Mi 11 Ultra. As for the under display camera, well this is the beginning, I am sure that it will get better with time.
Wait for the Mix 5… or the Mix 6
Agree, video, an easy win for the iPhone. Hopefully Xiaomi are watching and will put that at the top of their to do list? The photos overall better again on the iPhone and that is a surprise as this camera and lens is now a year old -v- much newer cameras? Bearing this in mind a solid win for the iPhone but likely to be bettered still when the iPhone 13 Pro Max arrives in a few weeks (also the Pixel 6 Pro)?

Good video, but I have a doubt about the Mix 4. Why wasn't its periscope camera used in this comparison?
For some reason it kept using 5x digital zoomed main camera footage and not the periscope camera the Mix 4. It will not always use it with video which is odd.
I was wondering that same thing until he answered it. I really wanted to see what it can do because I don't think there are many phones that have it in its price range. I could be wrong though.

Even though iphone shoots selfie video in 4k it wasn't really that better than mi 11 ultra, just look at your face and surrounding, it's near identical.
That portrait shot of the little girl looked great from mi 11 Ultra, that was awesome footage capture.
I didn't honestly think there was much of a difference there either. I guess it depends on what you are looking at it on though.
I can't blame XiaoMi for using front camera without 4k, I mean they put so much on the phone they have to cut corners from somewhere, but I believe XiaoMi has better cameras and videos on Mi 11 Ultra

But i seriously prefer mi 10 ultra coz of charging, looks, weight distribution and pretty much cameras... I don't know what they have done in mi 11 ultra so much contrast photos, night video bright areas are overexposing...... Or that is happening because of that shit samsung gn2....

Can't really complain about any of them. All 3 have amazing cameras, each doing a bit better in some categories. Amazing phones and it's nice to see how far Xiaomi has come over the past couple years.

On a big screen the 12 pm even though not having vivid daytime video looks believable. gn2 supposed to have very good daytime videos, looks not so good in this comparison, over saturated, dark shadows, not as good stabilisation.
Yes a bit too much contrast, the global Mi 11 Ultra (My phone) still doesn't have the big camera update the Chinese version got.
Funny the comparison reviews always start with the front facing cameras, I don't know selfie is a thing among Western dudes!

I know this is a camera comparison but one aspect which always impresses me about the Mi 11 Ultra is its mic quality. Compared to the iphone it's in an entirely different league.

Im not a fan of iPhones at all, but it clearly did the best in just about every scenario.
I hope Xiaomi just uses their custom 50MP sensor on all their flagship grades. That Mi 11 Ultra's set up is just the best they can offer. I was planning to get the Mix 4 but its performance for now is just saddening. I may need to wait if they'll do something on it..
TBH mi 11 Ultra didn't outdo iphone, maybe you downloaded that horror update that made it worse to make mi mix 4 look good.
Previously mi 11 ultra wasn't that oversaturated, it is "inventing colors" in some shots.
In video it still aced it, definitely the best video phone for me between the 3.
There a lot of free or cheap alternative camera apps. I use ProShot for photo and video and Cinema 4k for video in log mode. I doesn't care too much about a phone camera app, I care about hardware instead (sensor, OIS, processor)

For me too in video. I wasn't seeing the huge difference a lot of the people commenting are seeing, and I thought the ultra-wide shots on the MI 11 Ultra were way better than the other two.
@@DRIVER-SEBVET ProShot works very well, the only downside is not log mode for video. But you can control manually all the big parameters (iso, shutter speed, noise reduction, exposure, focus). Is the only app able to work with all the sensors in my phone, even the depth sensor (aka, portrait mode sensor). If you want to shoot video there is better apps, but pricier too and more complicated (ProTake, FilMicPro, McPro24fps)
It seems that your Mi 11 Ultra have the stabilization off? From the lack of stability here, and comparing it with your older video of the Mi11 Ultra review. i'm using a mi 11 ultra. its stability is much better than the video you just posted. something is not right here
Night video it wasn't working clearly as commented, but during the day you can clearly see the stability / EIS is on. No idea what happened at night I didn't touch anything 😕

Maybe you saw others with the Chinese ROM and the big camera update? The global doesn't have it yet and these cameras can do a lot better but these where the results I got with the current release firmware on the Mi 11 Global.

The clipping on the colors is super annoying in daily business. Especially if you have kids which have colorful clothing. Examples shown here are tame compared to what i had 😁

Xiaomis phones super chopy while recording. We don't need 4k-60 front camera, fullhd /60 but with good lenses and bitrate is enough.
