      @@Unknownuserhtps Exactly... I am not at all impressed with Apple. Even there iPhone 13 series. They are the boring and backward phone company in the world right now. I am not impressed at all.
      For me. I love my android gaming powerhouses. - I honestly don't know why anyone who actually understands smartphone tech. Would want to buy an apple device. Honestly. Also they are the least secure. I know this. As I am living in the land that brought the NSO Pegasus program me to the world. Every single iPhone is easily compromised. Easier than Android. Actually Android is more secure. And more sophisticated and harder to crack. But also easier to patch.
      Please avoid Apple like the plague. All Chinese Android handsets are the best.
      Turn away from Apple. They are not serving your interests. They just want your money.

    The camera is really not that bad, I've seen a lot worse front cam that are not even hidden under the screen. And it's totally better than the FOLD's UDC. MKBHD made a UDC test for FOLD and the results have a lot of ghosting, plus the lense is still a bit visible.

      @@Unknownuserhtps yeah, they need to step up specially in the budget to mid range segments. Their A series are not marketable, compared to Redmi, Poco or even Realme's. Their too focus on the FOLD'S and FLIP'S and eliminated their Note lineups which I think was a wrong move. Plus they keep on following Apple's footsteps by removing the charger and other peripherals usually bundled in the box and stubbornly keeping the prices high. Even their flagship lineups are made of Glastic which eliminates that premium feeling you get from their older devices like the S10. When you spend around $700 up to a thousand bucks for a phone, you don't expect compromises, you expect the full package as you should be getting what you pay for, and that's where Xiaomi and other Chinese manufacturers excel at, their value-friendly devices.

    Here's a response to a few comments in relation to the "first under display camera phone" -
    I mentioned that this is Xiaomis first "mass produced" smartphone to have under display cam tech. That means this is "xiaomis", not the world's first phone available to the public to come with an under display camera.
    Also, the ZTE Axon 20 was the world's first "mass produced" phone to ever have an under display camera. This means it was the world's first phone with this tech to be sold to the public. ZTE didn't start this whole thing, they were just first to release a phone with an in-display camera to the public.
    Hope this clears things up a bit👍

      As long as it's a good quality hole punch camera phone on the corner (rather than on

      Actually from how stale the display competition has come, no. The Mi Mix series is heavily designed for the most innovative display setups so it's Mi Mix department cup of tea, and the fact in-display camera is already been in development for 2-3 years now(Which is very long since display design is on its stalemate when notch/punch hole introduce and taking rumours with it In Display camera is to be on talks during 2018), only this time it's actually ready to be mass produced.
      Well it's up to you if you think it's fast or not but from how fast phones get better these days it's slow in comparison.

      @@blllklbn4055 I agree with you! I am using OnePlus 7 Pro and my wife uses Oppo Find X... been 2 years now and it works as good as new. Phone has fallen numerous times, been dropped under water, been through dusts, No impact to the phone or camera! I really do wonder myself why they don't make these anymore.
      Although I do like the under-display of Mix 4. I believe this technology is cheaper and easier to produce so phones in future may actually adapt to it.

    Great first review - cannot wait more camera footage until my Mix 4 will arrive in 2 weeks - I wanted to go with Mi11 Ultra BUT that super ugly display edges in the front and the punch hole just took away the aesthetics. Xiaomi released 2 Versions of every MIX so I am sure there will be a Mix Ultra in one year with the new Snapdragon and the additional display. but for now - I love the clean and super symmetrical front screen of the Xiaomi Mix 4 - incomparable!!

    Wait, what they've managed it's incredible, i didn't want to switch from my K20 pro because of seamless screen but it was painful to use now in 2020, this is worth switching to.

    • @felipecardel
      @felipecardel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      painful to use? understandable if your pop-up motor is defective, if you can't stand a standard refresh rate or if you want new android versions, but i have a k20 pro as well and it is still kicking like new. the SD855 still handles everything no problem and back cameras are very usable, A52 level at least. our selfie quality can't be much worse than the Mix 4's since it's the exact same sensor with no screen in front of it, though on the other hand image processing is outdated.
      i'm never switching back to a punch-hole or notch, though i'm also not upgrading until UDC tech is perfected, which should take at least another year (2 is a safer bet).

    • @SToXC_.
      @SToXC_. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should wait 3rd generation of udc camera phones, i believe they will be a little sharper, i kinda dont like the image being so soft, it looks like your lenses are dirty ( even tho its much much better and less visible than what happens with axon udc, its still here)

    • @SToXC_.
      @SToXC_. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      anyway i have a mi10 and i got used to the really really small punch hole, it just never gets in the way of anything, and the camera quality is pretty good
      (and i think as of now its the jack of all trades, i dont like my phone having moving parts or cheap looking front camera, or big notch/gotch/holes, this one js just soo small, if its for getting good image quality and display continuity i am for it)

      @@felipecardel I'm in the exact same boat as you!! Same device, same thoughts, and same concerns!! I have to agree, Redmi K20 pro/Mi 9T pro is still a beast. I have mine for almost 2 years already, can't let this phone go because it still meets my satisfaction.

      I agree. Sadly, I don't know if I have to let go of my Mi 9T pro since I bought was the 64gb variant only. 😭 I'm deciding to upgrade to Mi 11. I also want 120hz refresh rate and newer versions of Android. But still, my Mi 9T pro rocks. All runs smoothly

    Who cares about bad quality front cam, you have a high refreshrate full notchless punchhole-less screen.

    Honestly for such new tech the photos are really freaking impressing. Honestly, I would love a phone like that. I'm no professional selfie taker, plus that camera quality is completely enough for me already, AND, in contrast to pop-out cameras, if I want to unlock my phone with face recognition, I can do it instantly , without the hole punch or notch

  • @sanojx3161
    @sanojx3161 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The selfie camera is the weakest on all 3 camera's that we usually use, and compromising it just for a seamless and undistracted display when we usually forget that there is a punch hole in a traditional smartphone after a week of using is something that im not sold yet. Maybe the 2022 udc is the one to go for. Kudos to Xiaomi thou it is a lot better than Samsung's udc implementation.

    Hi Nick, are you able to do a comparison with ZTE Axon 30 5G? On a cost to performance metric I am thinking I'd nearly go with the ZTE over the Mix 4. I don't use the selfie camera's anyway but hate the notch. Realistically the back cameras on most phones are more than enough for what most will ever use them for, i.e social media which dilutes/compresses your uploads anyway resulting in a loss of quality. Between the Snapdragon 870 and the 888+, how likely is it you are going to see any real performance difference on a day to day basis? Just my thoughts, I'd be interested to hear you thoughts. Just subscribed too 👊
