To anyone who just needs shots of the road, use a selfie stick and put it through a sunroof as a free alternative! Did this a bunch while traveling and got epic shots just like this, plus didn’t need to mount it. The improvement you get with this system is the angle of people in the front seat. That is dope.

6:13 - This kind of shot, totally achievable if you have an insta360 selfie stick or something similar. Just mount the osmo, put it up through the sunroof, you can get some great stuff.
Oh yes that can def work in a pinch! This arm tho allows you to be hands free. It’s also great for extra stabilization for getting more professional looking shots. I didn’t even get to go and make proper roller shots! Imagine chasing another car and mounting it sideways or just all the possibilities haha!!!

what i want to know is how did you manage to color grade the footage from the drone, 4k$ camera and the osmo 3 equally AMAZINGLY
Nice video! Would be very cool to see a comparison with vs without. Also do you think the warping could be solved by disabling some settings? Looks like software stabilization to me, that probably is hindering in this scenario. I would add just a little paracord or lanyard to the wipers or engine cover or so, just in case the suction cup fails.
Yeah I was stressing without any tie downs 😂 and I think the pocket 3 might have some sort of internal stabilization. I’ll have to see if there’s a way to turn it off cause I agree I think that’s causing most of the warping
@@cammackey it’s definitely an internal gyro stabe like what GoPro does. It would be great to have ability to turn this off because I don’t mind a bit of shake…

It's pretty nuts honestly, you only need a few short shots to add massive production value.
My biggest annoyance with using the DJI tripod adapter, or the battery grip, is that it's not 100% snug when it's snapped on and connected to the camera. While connected, it can twist a little bit, introducing extra vibrations for the gimbal to counter. If you want even less vibrations, it's better to use the clamp instead!
Perhaps some kind of leash at the base of the mounting arm that’s hooked onto your hood or even winshield arm in the event that the suction fails. Bam you just saved yourself some coin. Dope setup! Subbed!

If they come out with anamorphic which can also have magnet ND filter it’s game set match. The other thing is this would be greats for driver or passenger side shots and talking heads. Awesome for car content guys.

Really thrilled to see how it does! There is a lack of good quality 4th axis stabilisers for the Osmo since the old, first one from DJI for the original Osmo. Just found those really cheap plastic versions I would never trust.
@cammacky can the arm angle be adjusted from the suction cup? Or is it only supposed to stay upright? I’m thinking of sticking on the back of my car to get car tracking shots.

You mean the screw? Or the part that clips into the pocket 3 that gives you a 1/4 mount? That should have came with your Pocket 3!
@@cammackey the screw bro, I have the extension for the Pocket 3 but on the arm it was just a flat plate with no 1/4-20

Do it! The zv1 only has the advantage of much better stills and more physical controls. Thats it!
To fix some of the shake could you have gotten away with a higher frame rate and just cut the frames in post? It does 120 right, maybe you could have shot 120 and then just divided by 5?

@@cammackey I think you misunderstand, you can shoot 120fps then conform it to 24fps it might help even more with any jello or shake. It'll still be 24fps at the end just captured at 120fps.
@@darrenorange2982 I understood. Several issues with that. The only way to keep a true 180° shutter with that is by making it slow mo.. I don’t care for slow mo. You can also skip frames.. but that doesn’t solve the 180° shutter degree so your footage will look even more choppy. A fast shutter speed can help with stabilizing footage.. but you can stabilize rolling shutter… so it won’t help with that either. The shake has nothing to do with shutter speed sadly

any idea why vaxis has been "out of office" since May 5 and won't respond to emails? I ordered the product, but they seem out of pocket. Not exactly thrilled with their service given that they will charge you $20 for expedited delivery and it's been two weeks.

Is there already a CP filter on the camera when you swapped to shooting towards the car? Because if not that would add so much more value to this and not see as much reflection.

I just like seeing Kofi uncomfortable :) - Its an interesting rig. It seems really bouncy. I wonder if adding some mass to it and tensioning it more would make it perform better.
I dont think the weight capacity can handle anything too too much. Next imma try the little DJI jacket clamp thing, I think that'll help center it a little more so the vibrations aren't whacking the head around so much
@@cammackey Interesting. A slightly stiffer spring might help with the extra weight. Inertia is excellent with stabilization. The more mass, the better. It was pretty astonishing what you can do with it already. I gotta play with this thing soon…..
@@ScottBalkum the other issue with my personal setup is that the broncos suspension is VERY stiff. So going slow over potholes is very jarring haha. But doing 60mph off road… butter. So I need to try my updated setup off road again
