I have quite sad news. I just found out that a couple of days ago, David Wu has passed away. It was announced on both the Conquest & Virtue Discord and also on the website. I've talked to David briefly before, as I messaged him to ask him questions for this video and kept some contact after the fact. Even so, it's still quite shocking to me as I've always looked up to what David was doing, especially after seeing Pseudo Interactive was back. He told me that was his dream to bring back Pseudo, and I'm glad that he was able to do that before he passed away. R.I.P. David Wu: 1975 - 2022. You will be sorely missed!

I have Hundreds of triple A games and can play pretty much any game I want on an 8k TV but this right here is a game that I still can't let go off. It has a special charm to it no other game can create. Thank you for making this video and giving it some well deserved attention. Underrated is an understatement.
Most under-rated and forgotten combat racing game, the destruction was something we never saw before till Red Faction Guerilla came out. Still remember making a gamer profile named "Magicman" to unlock everything.

It was my first time doing a history/retrospective video essay, so I made a lot of mistakes on the way, like breaking it up into parts for example. So I decided to go in and completely rework the project. I redid all the voiceovers, improved the editing, and fixed a lot of issues with it. I also changed the name to retrospective as the series was less of a history lesson than I originally thought. That theme song of full auto 2 just brings back memories, this game really feels like an fever dream, forgot it existed and man hearing that music again just brings back all those memories. Also when I was younger I thought this game was much more popular then what it actually is. I feel like it would have been much more appreciated if the games were not exclusives in my opinion.
We do have more recent games in the genre, like Crossout, GRIP: Combat Racing, ONRUSH and Destruction Allstars, though they are definitely nothing like Full Auto or Gas Guzzlers.
@@GamerAlexVideos honnestly out of all title that you mentioned, only GRIP that for me has a same vibe with FA or GG which was pure vehicullar combat racing games with waponized vehicle even better they took a sci fi prespective while the rest tittle that you mentioned even their was indeed the vehicullar combat games but more like a crash fest vehicle games then weaponized vehicle games and crossout specially it was more like a battlefield vehicullar combat games then vehicullar combat racing games
I just started playing Full Auto 2. Here's a tip I picked up from digital foundry: you can play the game at 720p with an improved frame rate if you go into your ps3s system settings and turn off 1080i and 1080p as display resolutions. Its quite smooth and I barely notice any significant frame drops.
The framerate problems were mostly caused by environment destruction. It was just too much for the 360 and ps3 to handle. While it did cause lag, I absolutely loved how destructible the environment was. Not many games allow buildings and other objects to be destroyed as much as they do in Full Auto at the time.

I am so happy that I can finally play Battlelines on my PC via the RPCS3 emulator practically flawlessly without frame drops running at a smooth 60 fps. There are crashes every so often but nothing that isn’t excessive. The game looks surreal when upscaled to 4k, it’s hard to imagine that it came out at the start of the 360/ps3 era

Would try the sequel FA2 Battlelines if I can set up my RPCS3 emulator properly. Funny enough I got introduced to Full Auto series with Battlelines PSP a long time ago.

Great video on Full Auto, the game had some good ideas, but the execution wasn't the best, and was let down by the hardware of 2005. I first played the demo on the xbox 360 in 2006, and was quickly put off by the bad frame rate. But I can appreciate the game years later, since there isn't anything like it. The level of destruction is really impressive, and its not something you typically see in racing games.
Racing games these days are so lifeless and basic, i miss this era when every racing game was completely different from the other, allowing for absolute masterpieces like full auto
Full Auto feels more like a combination of Call of Duty and FlatOut. It has that destruction racing nature of FlatOut combined with the weapons like a shooter, in this case, Call of Duty. For Burnin' Rubber, I only played the fifth HD release on Steam, and its ok. Its fine for what it is, but its hard to justify playing it with games like Gas Guzzlers and Full Auto.
I collect games (mostly ps2 but also x360) I'm well above 200 games but this is one of these games (the first one) I pop in every ones in a while bcs it's that fun.

I usually only make content on arcade racers and vehicular combat games as that is what I love and what my viewers expect from me. I am open to making videos on other game genres and series but I am not familiar with the Tenchu games so I won't be doing a video on them.
I founded a used copy for $5, and founded it played much better that the recent twisted metal on PS3. Although, being a 1st gen title it still needed that extra polish. Also the rewind mechincs seems to have been ripped off here and re-used in the first GRID game rewind time feature.

22:23 This is exactly why I want Full Auto 1 to be backwards compatible with Xbox Series X/S. Those frame rate issues would be ELIMINATED!

They are old low quality games, the main developer isn't the brightest either. BR was a copy of many games anyway
