    NEW FORGOTTEN GAME VIDEO: th-cam.com/video/ulIM56YYy5c/w-d-xo.html
Thanks to the 50k people that tuned into my passion project! New similar stuff coming soon, though perhaps not on a full franchise. And for my 500 subs, stay tuned! If RPCS3 ever gets multiplayer working, I'll make a video and we can organise a full lobby.
Around 9:14 I mention Apocalypse was revealed at E3 2005. This is wrong, it was 2009. Yes, I am a fool.
UPDATE: Pacific Rift Multiplayer is being worked on! See www.reddit.com/r/motorstorm/comments/wem026/pacific_rift_servers_important_notice/ for more info!
Edit: Asking me to cover Motorstorm RC is like asking me to review Angry Birds Star Wars in a review of the Star Wars movies. Its not bad, but it's Motorstorm in name only.

I don’t care what anyone says, Sony will never be the same without Evolution Studios, not only did I play the hell out of every single motorstorm games as a kid (even the boring RC spinoff) but I also got introduced into sim racing by their last and criminally underrated title DriveClub. It’s too unfortunate the studio doesn’t exist anymore so any future releases of either MS or DC would be very unlikely to happen, I can still say however that I’m very glad to have had these games in my childhood and that I still own a PS3 to be able to play them all again one day when I want to take a nostalgic trip, it’s a shame that some of the unlockables require online play though… either way this series will always be remembered as the best imo despite shifting my interest into more realistic sim racing.

They got bought by CM who kept them as their own separate team in the same studio, gave them some amount of free rein and they made Onrush which nobody bought. Then I think they made Dirt 5, which was also a disappointment. But then CM got bought out by EA and since then they've done EA WRC and maybe an F1 game. Doubt EA will let them do anything else.

Ah, this was a wonderfully fun series. When I got a PS3, for three years the only games I had were Pacific Rift and the first two Resistance games. I played the everloving hell out of all three, but PR was the one on which I wasted a majority of my youth. It really shaped what I considered to be a good racing game; I find things like Forza incredibly dull by comparison. It was always skin-of-your-teeth, adapt-on-the-fly, adrenaline-inducing madness and I loved every second of it. The variety of tracks, sheer colour and effusive energy ensured I was playing it right up until my PS3 eventually got the yellow light of death. I did also have Apocalypse, but I picked it up pretty late; 'twas already dead by that time. Still great fun though. A criminally underserved and forgotten series.
Side note: The same is true of Resistance, another franchise left buried in the ashes of the empire it once held. Fall of Man might as well be my favourite console shooter ever made. And local split-screen! Christ, do you remember when games had that? Those were good times... If you were to make a similar video on Resistance, I for one would appreciate it. I caught a glimpse of it there in your emulator list, and I long for the old days. The game box still gathers dust on my shelf, and it makes me sad.

I played mostly the first on PS3. for some reason this game was unusually gripping for a "generic" racing game. It was the combination of the over-the-top environments, the varied but well-balanced set of vehicles to choose from and the incredibly strong soundtrack. Also there's something about the presentation of the menu's that made you feel like you were "there" at a huge scale illegal racing festival.

I was hoping after DRIVECLUB (which I still love) Evolution would be given another chance at another Motorstorm game. Pacific Rift was the first Platinum trophy I got and is still one of my top favorite racing games. Nice work putting this video together and thanks for the nostalgic trip!

Great video! I've always known Motorstorm games, but never got to try them, except for that one RC game on the Playstation Store. Also, nice Ace Combat mention in the end, you better make that video soon now that the next game in the series is confirmed to be in development! ;)

No idea why you're so down on the OG MotorStorm. I think it was the best one. They started taking themselves a lot less seriously when Apocalypse came out.

It definitely is a great game, but I agree with everything he said. The tracks are all the same thing over and over again, and the single player campaign was extremely hard, but dumb. There was no free play. I love the game though. Pacific Rift is probably the best in the series just because it's Motorstorm 1 but with 16,000 new features and split screen.

(Perhaps it was imported prior idk). Bought it on a whim but it sits humbly on the shelf next to the o.g. underated rare gem imo and its a hella good time split screen with the bois

Remember spending so much time practicing and getting better in that game so I could have a chance of beating the group leader. Felt so good to finally do it. Dont think Ill ever find another racing game like that again, and its a pity.

Motorstorm Apocalypse was such a standout for me and my little brother. We loved the car customization and the pure mayhem. Pacific Rift had the best splitscreen experience for us and we loved the monster trucks. The first game was just absolutely gritty and the atmosphere in that one is hard to beat.

About to order Apocalypse looks good too

I’ve heard of this game but never knew what it was until watching this. Looks great and if y’all like this u will prolly love Fuel too. I think Fuel is better than Motorstorm from what I see and it’s open world. It’s a massive map and apparently one of the biggest in all of gaming. Takes 2.5 hours to get from one corner of the map to the other. The exploration is amazing and the gameplay is better. Also it’s incredibly challenging. Nobody knows what this game is and that sucks. Everyone should experience the masterpiece that is Fuel. Also the game is like $4 on Evay

Hey man 😊 Great video! It's amazing to see this series getting some love, it's my favourite game series of all time. From this I see your favourite is MSA. Great game, however I do feel you're a little biased towards it over the previous titles. I loved the setting, and it definitely has the best online multiplayer of the series (the CoD-like progression and perk system was SO much more rewarding than the clumsy rank system in MSPR). However, in the context of the MotorStorm festival and series, there are quite a few drawbacks to the game which, in my opinion, make it the weakest of the series.
My main issue with it is the change in direction in terms of the story and the soundtrack. MotorStorm for me was always about anonymity and a soundtrack with real bands/DJs, with songs not made for the game. These songs for me reflected the lineup of the respective festivals. Also, the driver was supposed to be YOU taking part in the festival, not playing as someone else. I appreciate that the developers were trying to be fresh and original with their ideas, but I still think the OG MotorStorm formula should've remained unchanged.
My second issue is the incredible lack of vehicle models compared with past games. They may have added 5 new classes, but on launch each class only had 3 vehicles in it. Compare that with the first game which had 5 per class, or MSPR which was a downright orgy of vehicle variety, and it was a massive step back. I get they added customisation which was amazing, but the lack of model variety was still very disappointing for me on launch day.
Nostalgia tells me MSMV is my favourite, but if I had to be objective I'd say MSPR is definitely the strongest game of the series. Again, great video! Sorry for the absolute essay lol, I'm just quite passionate about this series 😂 Props to you if you made it to the end of this.
P.S. Love your editing style 🤣 it was very entertaining. Subscribed 👍🏼

I remember going to a friends house back when i still only had a ps2
And this dude boots up pacific rift.
And then he says “check this out” and he starts playing music he loaded onto his ps3 during the game.
My mind was blown, something i always wanted was now available.
With my ps2, if you wanted your own music in a game, you had to unplug either the white or red audio wire, and go plug in a dvd player than could play CDs.
And in order for it work work decently, you had to go into the options and turn up the in game sound effects and turn off the in game music.
It was ghetto, but it worked. Made tony hawk even more playable.

A year ago or so i got my old ps3 out of the closet and replayed Motorstorm and Motorstorm Pacific Rift.
They're fun games for some time but both feature the same very bad grievance of rubber band enemies. I'm kinda astonished it wasn't in the video at all, because that's the biggest factor to why the games became unfun after a while (because rubber band became stronger the further you got into the game).
It's simply unfun to go around a tight corner on a motorcycle, boosting away only to be crushed by a truck, which should be literally impossible after the vehicle classes specs. But it does happen because of rubber band KI.
