Good to see you Phil - I'm glad you were still laughing after the day you had 😂 The bowl turned out lovely - I love the way the bark finished up it really fits well inside the crotch of the log! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hello there! It was so fun to hear you giggle and laugh! Made me smile. 😄 I do see a critter. I see a pangolin. Its eye is the “knob”. Fun project. I like it! My trip didn’t work out. My Dad freaked out being away from home, so I had to cut the trip short to bring him home. (His dementia has gotten so much worse since my mom passed.) I’m going back next month, only I’ll be flying this time. See you next time! Hugs and more to you! ✨ Roma 🌲💚🌳🦅
Oh, gosh, I'm sorry it didn't work out, Roma. We just don't know what our future holds. We might all end up with unknown issues. You have done so well for your parents, you are a saint! Enjoy your second chance, my friend! 😊
Ha ha Phil you made my morning!!!! Love your laugh . Did pretty much the same thing afew weeks ago. Used finger nail polish that I keep around because I always seem to get it on my fingers. LOVE the bowl!!! Thanks for another awsome video. Terry Binder
Good morning 🌅 Phil 😂, A great looking 👀 bowl 🥣, Art , one good thing about Woodturning live edge, is that it will never be the same and always be a fascinating peace of sculpture, stay safe, I Am wrenching on my Hog, finally got all of my parts, ⚙️🔧 France.
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop 😂😂😂🌅👍🏻, I did have 2 fuel leak , one from the fuel tap, Obviously somebody has been into it as there is two slightly different threads one on the tank and one on the fitting and the nut that goes on to join both together was on the wrong way round, I had noticed a few months ago that there was slight leak , but because I feel the tank right up to the Top this morning, more pressure and it’s got worse, and then the plate that is set into the Top of the tank. I presume the gasket are dried out as it hasn’t had fuel in it for best part of a year., and of course that was causing problems as well, it gives you some indication how well the bike was looked after if any at all, But I did enjoy my 2526 mile ride, I didn’t want to go too far as the bike has got to be tested like MOT control techniques, Now this is all sorted , I can get back on of finishing off my workshop, And hopefully built some cupboards to make some room, as now I’ve got all my contents from the UK back into my property in France, there wasn’t enough room before to swing a cat, I doubt now if you get a mouse in there, Stay safe keep up the great work. Look forward to your next project later in the week. , or on your bike, 🏍️ 😂.
Well Phil, if it's not plumb it the nurseries fault. My neighbor was frustrated because his plumb tree never gave him any fruit. He planted it years before I moved there. Well one day he cut it down and gave me a few pieces. I put it in my garage and moved it 3 times. Finally after over 30 years I came across it. I obviously gave it to the right person. Otherwise it might still be in my blank pile. I love what you did with it.
I like that answer and it solves a mystery of my own. Since moving to Washington I’ve seen lots of very obvious plum trees here. The purple leaves are even the right shape. They flower but I’ve never seen even one plum produced. Sounds like Valerie is correct. Flowering Plum instead of orchard plum. Guess I’ll quit waiting for plums on these trees.
Hi Phil this is a wonderful piece of wood its got lovely grain and markings, the bark is lovely. The live edge dish is magnificent I really love it. Thank you Phil for a fabulous video it was very helpful and interesting. Amanda xx❤❤
Thank You Phil, Thank You Rick Chapman...So very sorry about that mis-identification Phil. That is not at all Plum and so obvious Oak ( I wonder, did I have a senior moment? ).. That knot sure looks like some kind of a Lizard eye looking at ya, (another senior moment? omg )... Beautiful turning today Phil (Rick, YOUR "Plum" worked out far better than MY "Plum" HA) I'm Plum confused Next time Phil, TM

Hi Phil! What a day you've had. Buy a bottle of acetone, keep it handy in the shop... it will release and clean the CA glue residue... I learned that the hard way 😂 Happy turning!
Another beautiful piece Phil. The wood, regardless of the species, really has some very nice grain and figure - the chatoyance does come through quite well. One of the statements I heard years ago and loved that really fits your comments in the first few minutes of the video, "There are some days you can't hit the ground with your hat". 😄
You surely have the most infectious chuckle on TH-cam Phil! Very pretty piece, I wonder if it did turn out to be plum🤔I'll get in and check the comments. Cheers Phil, keep on chuckling.👍
Glad you enjoyed it, Jude! 😊 I thought you were missing when I took a look around this morning! Glad you showed up! Rick did say it's Plum, he got it from his neighbor who planted it.
You could put plums in it… Turned out really nice! We all need tough days to appreciate the good days! Main thing is to laugh about it as it comes like you do! Thanks Phil!
I’m glad you solved the Plum mystery and hope your sticky situation that you created 😂 has solved it self as well and besides all that the bowl has turned out really nice and I actually started laughing with you in the beginning but definitely not at you. All the best to you. Regards Jim

What a pretty piece! I see that you do have gloves in your shop. Maybe wearing those the next time you use any type of super glue will leave your fingers safe. Yes, I learned that the hard way. 😉 Love your laugh! It always makes me giggle!! 😊

"Howdy" - Hey Phil, When I get CA glue on my hands I use foam backed sandpaper. It works great at getting the dried glue but not tearing up my hands. I hope this helps.
That is a really pretty piece Phil. The plum I have ever seen has a purple streak in the grain. That's only what I think I know. Thanks for the tip of the brush and cloth. I will look for you next week. Be good
Wonderful piece Phil no matter what wood it is. You worked magic on it. Unless I buy wood from a timber retailer who knows, marks it & tells me what it is then anything else, other than what I reckonise, then what I can find, use or are given, it's unknown timber to me so it's all just wood 😊. 👍🏴
Standing it up, from the bowl side it's a catcher's mitt; from the bottom side it's the lower peninsula of Michigan. i love the figure on the inside. Well executed, Phil.

I'll try not to drift away to another dimension. So, plum or not, that bowl is gorgeous. Well heck, I would just call it "plum pretty." That way plum is in the title without committing any reference to the material. Win win! You are a master my friend, thank you so much for posting, get unstuck, and take care. Rick (try brake cleaner next time, WD40 works too)
You're so funny!!! Frustrating events in our lives require a good laugh. I like the bowl but is it plum? Whatever it is it's beautiful. Have a great weekend and stay healthy. 🙂
Nice really like it Phill you need some acetone it will remove that ca glue for you. Guess that's what happens when you take a nice trike ride before you start your turning project Blessings
Use olive oil to get the glue off - my son has super glued his fingers together a few times (long story lol) and it's worked nicely to get his lil piggies back to tip-top! :)
Your first "plum" piece looks similar to some Cork Oak that I got recently. The bark is really thick and has a cork consistency. Just a suggestion. I keep some wet wipes or Clorox wipes in my shop and they work surprisingly well if you spill some CA glue if you use it right away. Also works for most solvents you spill or get on your hands.
Beautiful piece no matter what it is! LOL, can't tell you how many times I've glued something together, including my fingers, that didn't belong glued together. Thanks again for all you do!!
That's a nice piece of wood, we can see the feather in the grain, grand finish you got, by the way you mentioned the coats of finish at the end but you forgot to mention the single coat of C A glue to fingers before turning begins Ahahahahahahahaha hope you've got them clean now. All the best from Lincolnshire UK

Nice really like it Phill you need some acetone it will remove that ca glue for you. Guess that's what happens when you take a nice trike ride before you start your turning project Blessings
😊
Use olive oil to get the glue off - my son has super glued his fingers together a few times (long story lol) and it's worked nicely to get his lil piggies back to tip-top! :)
😊
Thanks, Phil. Stay safe and healthy.
😊
Phil, I like it.. You did a great job on it..
😊
so beautiful, Phil.
Thank you, Colleen! 😊
Pretty ❤️ nice wood!
Thank you, Diane! 😊
Yes, some very nice chatoyence there!
Yes! 😊
Your bowl is beautiful.
Thank you, Judith! 😊
Sounds great! 😊
Tis a beautiful bowl
Thank you, Madonna! 😀
Beautiful piece no matter what it is! LOL, can't tell you how many times I've glued something together, including my fingers, that didn't belong glued together. Thanks again for all you do!!
Haha, yeah, I guess it happens, Garry! 😊

Great bowl! Beautiful piece.
😊
That's a nice piece of wood, we can see the feather in the grain, grand finish you got, by the way you mentioned the coats of finish at the end but you forgot to mention the single coat of C A glue to fingers before turning begins Ahahahahahahahaha hope you've got them clean now. All the best from Lincolnshire UK
Haha, yup, the glue is finally gone, Gary! 😊
