I’m still learning to remove hope from the equation. Earlier this week I took my wing out to a big open field for kiting practice on a mild and pleasant morning knowing that a tropical storm was brewing far to the south. Sure enough I was blind sided by a gust that immediately took the slack out of my risers and the wing took off like a rocket. Thankfully I wasn’t clipped in but I wanted to control it and was lifted a few inches before letting go. My lines are a tangled mess but that was a learning experience for sure. Your video content is very well-timed and relevant. Thank you Micah.😅

It really is a fantastic wing, not as sporty as I am used to but it challenges me in a good way for acro. Otherwise it is amazing for this altitude (launching at 9,000’).

Your stuff is always top notch. The 101 landings and launching vids you did at Aviator are the best out there on those subjects. Minor criticism: the background music on the narrative sections on this vid add nothing and are, IMHO, a bit intrusive and irritating. Keep up the good work - and best wishes from England 👍

Am I the only one who can seem to never find flyable days? I did my training 1.5 years ago and have not flown over 20 times since then. I’m in Indiana and winds seem to be gusting to at least 10-15mph every day. It’s been pushing me to sell but part of me doesn’t want to give up lol. I don’t fly during the winter so that cuts out half the year almost.

There are plenty of wonderful flyable days in Indiana, you are just inexperienced, and looking for a level of perfect that does not exist. Early mornings, and the last 1/2 hour before sunset, until you get comfortable, then expand on that as you grow comfortable ,

@@MrTyler8877 it will do that, especially early on. I get it.
I got caught in an outflow boundary gust front last week, and it shook me up pretty badly, and I have been flying Ultralights for decades.
I had to land in a road in a bean field, and call a ride like about 30 other people at Purdin’s Fly-in. Next day, back at it, but was pretty nervous the first few minutes
You gotta build your confidence, take your time, only lightly push the envelope, and stretch it out slowly .
Find those nice calm evenings, during the last hour of light,
Most of all, never feel bad calling it quits early. Live to fly another day
