I had a couple left over brioche buns. Decided to make this but added thin slices of tomato and bacon. Turned out great.

Great clip! I lived in Fukuoka for years and did a lot of bicycling. Always bought egg sandos in konbinis plus a chu-hi for lunch. Now I make them at home back in Romania. I find bread close to Japanese milk bread and also Kewpie mayo. Arigato!

Jun, I'd give anything to have a Japanese bakery nearby! BUT I do make a milk-bread dough for cinnamon rolls - maybe I should try just baking the dough as a loaf?! We're coming into 'baking season' for all that extra warmth from the oven! I love egg salad - yours does look delicious... but I would HAVE TO add some finely diced sweet onions and parsley to my sandwich! Maybe you'll try it one day? =]

You definitely should try making that milk bread! Baking is not my forte but I'm tempted to try out for myself. I love onions and I can't imagine that being bad with this sandwich, I'll have to give it a try!

@@TheSushiMan I just rewatched a milk bread video, Jun! It takes patience and determination but you have both of those qualities so you should be successful! [the lack of whole milk and cream are the two ingredients that hold me back today!]

I’ve never seen it with the bread toasted on one side before

It's traditionally not, but I like to add that crispiness to mine. Try it both ways and see which one you like!

Tamago sandwich does not toast the bread.
