Thank you Dr for this insight. Truly the best advice ever given by an RE. That happen to me with femera attempts in 2015 IUI in 2017. Finally got a dr to give me a HsG after 10 yrs and I had blocked right tube. She couldn’t figure out why or how it was blocked never mentioned scaring of any type no endo no nothing I’m just 100% unexplained infertility past 20 yrs 😢 hubby is sub fertile as well good numbers below optimal motility and morphology. Finally health wise 200 lbs down I qualify for IVF and we have the money and coverage but it’s been a long horrible 15 year strugle

Thank you for paying attention to pain and not dismissing it as routine!

Mine are never painful I’ve had at atleast 5 SA and 2 HSG in a 12 year period and I’ve never had pain however other friends of mine who have gone through trying to conceive and all that lady problems it’s excruciating one young woman. She just had her baby three years ago via IVF and when she went in for her HSG and she compared the two pain, she was like that HSG was almost more painful than the birthand scarring can cause pain and things like that but I guess very different

Get your natural killer cells level tested + other autoimmune factors. Mostly this is the cause of miscarriage or preventing the egg to stick that is overlooked by doctors...😢

Thank you for this video! You explain everything so clearly.
I'm wondering if you have ever come across a case of male infertility that includes both retrograde ejaculation and azoospermia, with a history of undescended testicles? Would you give any hope for such a case?

My healthcare is through the VA. It takes months to be seen and even though they know time is of the essence, they want to refer you to doctors with horrible ratings just because they are near you. I'm a woman of color, and I'm older, I saw my first doctor in April after waiting 2 months to be seen. I didn't like him, so I have been waiting to see this new doctor 3 months almost 4. I have to wait until I get the letter int he mail saying that the doctor is VA approved. If I don't like that doctor I'm going through it all over again. I've been on a hunt for a good fertility doctor since I was 38 almost 39. I'm 43 now. I do have a civilian doctor, but the VA won't pay for them.

Have not got pregnant since 2020 when I had two losses. Last one had to have a D&C. Is it recommended to have the dye placed through to check tubes. Hubby had a SA numbers are higher then normal except morphology at 2%. Thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I did an hsg and I was told my tubes are blocked. My Dr told me that my tubes are blocked. He said that i will not be able to have children. If I want to have a child, I need to do ivf. We don't do ivf in my country and I can't afford to go to another country to do it because it too expensive. I have searched the internet to find out how I can unblock my tubes but I didn't find anything. So I give up 😢.

      Thank you for asking.
There are some restrictions on scheduling - we can only see people who plan to have care at the clinic.
I am unable to do one time consulting for second opinions.
Fertility care and care for miscarriage is an ongoing process so patients living outside of the Seattle area will likely not be scheduled.

    Hi,
When you say that we shouldn't be on progesterone every day, are you also referring to the progesterone in oil that we take before embryo tranfer? I have to do that shot once a day and I started on Sunday.

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

No!!! Progesterone to support embryo transfer is different. I’ve seen patients take progesterone every day of a natural cycle to try to ‘balance’ their hormones

For someone on cyclical HRT,should they delay their progesterone until they’ve ovulated? Typically, the instruction is to take it days 1-12 of the month, but what if someone has a longer cycle?

Hi Dr. Shahine, i did HSG and was told my tubes are not visualized.
Contrast study showed moderately capacious, abnormally shaped uterine cavity with smooth outlines.
I was told i had a large submucosa mass.
I did myomectomy 5 months ago and was given 6 months before conception.
Could the fibroids be the cause of my tubes not being visualized?

Tell him from experience do not go through any no fertility treatment without getting an HSG sailing ultrasounds are fine but they do not tell the doctor what they need to know I’ve been battling and in this fertility game since 2011 one HSG 2011 perfect looking uterus no polyps no fibroids open tubes Pregnant was plus size I was about 275 pounds at the time 23 Reproductive endocrinologist numerous turndown a doctor willing to try iui you know I was 325 but he was willing to try no HSG he was like oh well you just had one about five or six years ago. You should be fine. The only thing they gave me with the sailing ultrasound that could see a really strange looking fibroid, but they could not tell for the life of them if it was interfering with anything in particular pregnancy still unexplained fertility we gave up then two years later they want to email me and be like oh well, we see that that fibroid may be in pending on a certain area that could’ve possibly found problems with implantation so freaked out finally in 2023. I get my weight down. I’m 200 pounds down. I’m 180 BMI 27 finally doctors take me seriously my HSG showed, gigantic fibroid polyps a blocked right tube literally cried. I was like I just went through all of this. IUI is not even four years ago and the rest assured it was messed up then. Don’t take no for an answer. Just get the HSV done anytime you see a new doctor or even in my opinion if it’s been over a couple years.

Is the last test she mentioned AMH? Or something else? My doc tested a bunch of hormones and not sure if it included the one she mentioned.
My doc did reccomend the felopean tube check and sperm check too, so will give them a go.

Talk to your doctor about your personal situation but most people don’t need a second tube evaluation unless something changes in their health (like ectopic pregnancy)
