    I love how modular the city is. You just plopped out a building like it’s nothing. And I think that really solved the issue that goes in my mind with City builds. When does it just finish and sit there forever to collect dust? Well you can just change out the buildings depending on your mood or, create new buildings

    Great idea adding the construction site, the scaffolding is perfect

  • @TurtleBurger681
    @TurtleBurger681 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I'm not sure yet if you've done anything else in the area with the scaffolding (just catching up on your videos and there are quite a few to watch), but you should change the area beneath the scaffolding to look like it was a small garden (like on the other side of the stairway), however it got a little roughed up by the construction workers. Add things like the grass being eroded away by them walking over it and mud on the sidewalk, trampled bushes/flowers, or maybe if you want them to be a bit more eco-friendly have them moving bushes and flowers into plant pots. I say this mainly because you have a raised platform along the sidewalk that is seemingly only there for the scaffolding (which should only be a temporary thing in real life), so unless you have something planned for that area, it just seems strange to have the platform.

    Not sure how much it applies to regular construction stuff, but when I was in stage crew we dealt with scaffolding a lot, and generally the ladders are on the sides, rather than the front or back. That might improve the realism, as you don't need a hole to get through that way.

    Great update, for the connection between the pedestrian way ad the road in the back you could put in a hedge, or a line of small trees

    For the connection of the bike lane and road, you could expand on the construction site theme by ‘building the connection’. Some workers, equipment and piles of dirt

    that lego city is so beautiful if only i could have so much room, and if i would be that good at building. LEGO should hire you

  • @willi6036

    I think a possible cool idea would be add a little bit of construction things or a worker on roof.
    Could use one of the short ladder pieces in some way to get onto the roof. I think it would add a little more to that scene of the construction workers working on the building.

    Looks fantastic! However it isnt obvious what they are constructing and I feel like a tad more detail maybe on the building itself would add even more life to it. I love your city, the occasional flat open areas you have for car parks and such really make the buildings stand out more. Super!

    I always get so excited when new updates are posted! Love the little challenges you give yourself within building, and I think it’s so enjoyable to watch because you can tell you’re having fun with it! Also- your narration/ voiceovers for the videos is my absolute favorite part. Keep building on, and I’ll be cheering you in from here in the eastern United States !

    Love the build, but I think it would be cool if you knocked a chunk out of the wall to show what they are working on, and maybe on the other side of the wall
    It could show someone being surprised in their shower. But if not it’s a cool build either way.

    I think a nice way of connecting the roads and hiding the difference in elevation would be maybe making a speed bump on the side road? The road would get higher behind it to fit the main one but the bumper would mask the change and also it would make some sense having a speed bump in this backstreet.

    Add a railing to the hill on the side of the road because realistically it would be a hazard if there wasn’t one and cars could just roll off

  • @BinaryArmorOnline
    @BinaryArmorOnline 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    For connecting the bike lane to the road: a brick resting sideways atop studs is almost identical in height to three plates connected to those same studs, so your dimensions should be close to perfect as-is. If you're really worried about getting the height as perfect as possible, something you could do is use modified bricks with studs on their sides to connect one side of the road at the correct height, and then use headlight bricks on the opposite side of the road to lock it in place.

  • @crazycgames

    Looking good! I know you said a fence by the elevator shaft, but might want to extend that to the road as a minifig could still fall off to the level below and break their neck!

  • @thelivingcat0210

    What you could do for when the bike lane meets the road is make a physical median/curb in between them that extends slightly above the road

    Believe it or not, sticking flag poles through those technic pins isn't illegal as LEGO does that often in Set actually. Now perhaps they have never used them to "EXTEND" a pole, but even as anal about illegal techniques as I am, I would only suggest this as a new LEGAL use, as lego has put poles through pins themselves in sets. So congrats on thinking outside the box, while still being legal! Now THAT is creativity that I am inspired by!

    4:57 well I dont think the mayor of your layout will let that elevator shaft be a death trap because having holes like that where the doors are would not follow lego safety regulations and you as a huge fig dont really need to be a lego figure to know that because could you imagine that in the real world where if you walk into a building and you press the elevator call button and a trapdoor opens to somewhere bad
