For the transition, a carefully designed warehouse would do the trick! A warehouse fits the dock theme obviously, but then the back of it could be themed more lie a barn / stock yard to fit your rural theme. It could also be warehouse for storing crops / grain before it is packaged to be shipped!

    • @vanitazazas
      @vanitazazas 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Yeah, one can design the warehouse in a combined style of old and new so it matches the transition very well

As someone who's been to real large fish markets:
Sharks are usually hung from a post by a rope around their tail. (Especially by sport fishermen.) The peg hole underneath the lego shark's tail might work good for this.
Otherwise, perhaps a spot where sharks circle, trying to get leftover fish parts tossed back in the water?

Great layout and video, gorgeous builds. For the pine trees, I would consider using the longer hollow flex tubes as support instead of individual bars. They can be cut if you need them shorter, and they provide much more stability.

I know it sounds awful, but those new pine trees would fit perfectly into a sawmill.
Maybe that could be the building between the village and a city. It could have the aesthetic of the village while having this industrial feel that fits a nearby harbour.

Awesome progress video! If you’re open to suggestions I would recommend maybe putting the smaller shrub looking trees in the green planter area by the track as typically for waterfronts there are not many trees by the shoreline to block the view of the water and as a realistic standpoint it’s a nightmare to do maintenance due to tree roots growing outwards.

    • @80Bucks

  • @chazbotic

one idea is to "fade" the sand green color into the top of a dark green tree by replacing some elements towards the top with the lighter color so you have a dappled light effect and the idea of old/new leaves. this can work in mixing several green colors and i use it for lime green and sand green for my tropical MOC. for the water, i've had great success in using trans clear cheese slopes as ripples and trans dark blue nearer to the edges to simulate depth. trans light blue works good for near the beach where the water isn't so deep. and for larger waves there are options for trans light blue, trans clear, and near the base trans dark blue so you can "build up" a bigger wave. for the transition area between the rural section and harbor section, maybe something like a grain elevator or similar so that agricultural product has a reasonable path to be frozen and exported - it's a good enough reason as any and i see this around in some coastal towns that have fish and inland fruits as exports.

One of my favorite ways ive seen people so water is just pour the transparent light blue studs with some darker blue studs mixed in . Never stays in place so I think it would definitely give it a nice look, could even add some dark blue slanted pieces randomly staggered to understand the studs to give a better illusion of Tide.

For the transition between rural and city/harbour… why not put in a small port/ container terminal?? The people of the city need a way to get their goods…. You could even put up a chainlink fence between the rural park path area and the containers. Maybe even split the train track to come into the port to pick up the cargo coming off the ships… (literally how it’s set up in my city irl lol)

My suggestion for the transition area to the rule for the dock is maybe you make a restaurant that has a deck that overlooks the harbor and then the restaurant is kind of where the transition happens see you have like a restaurant with a garden patio area and then the doctor on the other side very much like Tavern on the Green in New York Central Park something maybe you think about? Let me know be well be you

I’m tree-obsessed and I’m loving the new pine trees! I want to build some, but I’ve already used up all the green and brown LEGOs we have. Our LEGO build is nothing compared to this masterpiece! 😅

Since you already crashed into the mountains, the citizens are used to the presence of bigger creatures so adding some Godzilla dorsal fins to the end of the harbor would be really interesting.

Loving the new trees. May I suggest having some smaller/taller than others, at the moment they're all the same and that stands out a bit too much imo. You could replace some of the 1x1 cylinders with a combination of 1x1 round studs or add/remove cylinders altogether. Great work otherwise.

For the pine trees I was thinking u could possibly add brown mini fig hands into the earth green pieces to act as pine cones… and possibly even some cherries in some of the bass to show berries crowing on them with a stem..
