    I think a tiny important detail to add would be a ladder, or a path among the rocks from the water leading to the docks, so the swimmers have easier more believable access to the wayer

    A lifeboat building could work at the empty space next to the harbour, but it would probably be difficult finding space for a ramp into the water

    • @BgrceBrr
      @BgrceBrr ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Orrr a seafood resturant!

    • @duncanwilson3672
      @duncanwilson3672 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yes, a building on stilts or a pier.

    • @violetsnows682
      @violetsnows682 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Quite a lot of older uk life boat stations used to vertically drop soars into the water since they were small towing boats. Could try that?

    • @airedale1913
      @airedale1913 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, this would be amazing! And for the gap with the cliffs, some smugglers/mafia hiding things in there with a little boat into the cave.

    • @norrisrj1983
      @norrisrj1983 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree, a building that has to do with the pier, basically a way to meld the lower pier area itself with the upper city area. Maybe a warehouse and something that has to do with bringing cargo from the boats to the train?

  • @maxbraun2913
    @maxbraun2913 ปีที่แล้ว +128

    For the red building, you should add exterior stairs, or some sort of fire escape instead of or in addition to connecting it to the neighboring building

    • @Strike0N3
      @Strike0N3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Was just thinking this. And if there's a building going the other side they could share the stairs in-between them

    • @MikeMakesUK
      @MikeMakesUK ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was thinking an entrance at the rear from the level above. In fact, a stairway between two building from the upper level all the way to the lower with entrances branching off for the upper floors could be good. 🤔It would also link the two streets. In Scotland, we call it a close.

  • @Wgymjim
    @Wgymjim ปีที่แล้ว +175

    6:18 in the small gap, I think that a little cave with gold in a chest or something could look good! Maybe with the part of the maffia story.
    Love your videos, keep it up!

  • @thebitz81
    @thebitz81 ปีที่แล้ว +49

    What about adding a little cave at water level between the two rock faces to the right of the new pier?
    Gives an opportunity to add a tiny finishing boat, or a secluded place for people to swim and explore.

  • @rj5529
    @rj5529 ปีที่แล้ว +179

    I think the plants in front of the pizzeria are a little misplaced, I think a café barrier might make it look better, I love this build :)

  • @carpyet9507
    @carpyet9507 ปีที่แล้ว +34

    Every aspect of your city seems so intentional and curated, while still maintaining a natural and inviting feel. This is my favorite MOC on TH-cam. As for the rock face, I recommend keeping it simple to avoid competing for attention.

  • @ikr555
    @ikr555 ปีที่แล้ว +205

    One possible addition to the pier/boardwalks might be a bright colored ladder into the water. Lots of waterfronts have them, so if you fall in, you can easily identify them in a panic, and get out of the water

    • @Ewl24
      @Ewl24 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Was gonna say a ladder for the wood pier as well haha
      But i think with ladder should just be brown for the pier and then colored in the harbor section.
      Gives the idea that the lil wooden pier has been there since before the new concrete harbor, which I think is kinda fun

  • @ArushaofDenmark
    @ArushaofDenmark ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Just want to call out the wonderful progress you’re making on the video editing side of things. The slow-fast transitions, mixing stop-motion sequences that show sections added with quick cuts vs hand-placing them, etc etc. It really ups the overall quality of your work, which is already stellar. I’m sure it takes you a little longer to produce, as does anything of high quality, but just want to say it’s isn’t going unnoticed!

    You could make that large tree by the water front more weathered, as I have never seen a tree that close to a harbour or sea that isnt affected by it's conditions, peppered with salt marks or bent due to the wind that comes off the ocean. Usually they are a little less vibrant, which is why I appreciate the use of olive green pieces in the vine that covers part of your harbour wall.

  • @danielmon2872
    @danielmon2872 ปีที่แล้ว +166

    I feel like a good way to bring life into your city would be different types of trees like apple trees, spruce, birch, different coloured leaves and maybe flowers and bees/ladybird 1x1 tiles in those trees. Love the vids

  • @dramatica4982
    @dramatica4982 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Two things I'd suggest:
    1. That empty space could be a small inn placed at an angle to overlook the both the harbour and the sea. With the view it would be a good way to draw in tourists and the tram line being close by would provide access to further in the city for those who want a day out there
    2. Instead of a wall of large plants separating the houses and the tram line, perhaps add fences, as they're sturdier and safer, and decorate them with small flowers.
    Either way, love how it's coming along! I love coming onto TH-cam and seeing you've uploaded! Keep up the good work!

    An interesting idea to build in the empty spot next to the harbour would be a small Recycling station, with a garbage truck and a small Office or something. It won't block the view to the tramline and it fits in between the higher residental buildings and lower industrial harbour

  • @alexhatherley
    @alexhatherley ปีที่แล้ว +29

    I have an idea for the empty looking rock face; you could put a cave in and then add some sort off lighting to look mysterious and it could tell a story about some sort of lost treasure

    • @landsgevaer
      @landsgevaer ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Maybe in the little alcove at minute 6:21 you could add a little cave with lush vegetation✨

  • @HolySoliDeoGloria
    @HolySoliDeoGloria ปีที่แล้ว +22

    Fantastic update! In the water in front of the rocks 6:30 you could add some rocks in the water (but not to interfere with any cliff divers). Birds could be on the rocks, or perhaps minifigure people. A boat could be sailing past that area. I also like the idea of a beach (mentioned in comments and mentioned by you in an earlier video). It would require access, of course.

  • @ezrade5098
    @ezrade5098 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hello, I've commented quite the same thing few videos ago but, in most if not every harbour there is at least one slope in order to get boats in the water, could make good scenery if we saw a mini figure take in or out a boat. Also, if you are looking for a building related to the harbour, you often get control post dealing with boats entering and leaving. It manages the harbour to sum up. Anyways good video keep going !!

    I think you could add a dock building, a hall or a church. In my town in uk, there is an elaborate dock building witch basically used to control the dock in the Victorian era. And I think it would add a lot of history and look cool in the Lego city. Also I think you could have a clock tower/clock face in your city. ❤

    The gap in the rocks I think could have a small waterfall, as it already looks like part of it eroded away from something. And another thing, I think a really funny storyline that could be added could be something like a rival pizza place, as normally in one city there are multiple pizza places competing with each other. Keep up the great work!

Watching the progress on the city and your innovation and commitment to the project is by far a highlight of my week every week! I think in one of the buildings on the wall leading up to the bridge it would be cool to have a pet store. Absolutely great update. Love seeing your videos every time. The empty space next to the harbor could definitely have a cliff for divers with a small cave with a stash of mafia gold where normal people wouldn't see it. As for the kiosk, I think it also really deserves it's own floor, even if you simply replace the tiles where it rests on it would be so much better than how it is now. I'm also a big supporter of the basketball court and the building in the corner, which I think should be a seafood restaurant instead of a harbor building.

    The remaining empty space next to the harbour could be a small wooden boat building yard that would be used build new boats and to fix/maintain existing ones like the fishing boat already there, or maybe a fish/seafood packing station business to sort and prepare the local fisherman's catch to sell to restaurants
    edit: and also for either idea, add some pulley winch/crane system to transport cargo and items between the different levels of the harbour

    Edit: I have an idea for the bare rock face, on rock faces such as the one by the harbor the water tends to be very swirly and foamy especially near the crevices. You could maybe add some algae growing on the side of the rocks near the water but I don’t know if it’ll look to cluttered.

    if you have some rarer pieces or sets, or if you manage to acquire some, i'd love to see some smaller displays for those. you could even make some dioramas with sets from a single theme, such as the knights sets or moonbase sets. good luck to you!

    For the empty space next to the harbour, a water sports shop selling surfboards, wetsuits and so on could be really good! You could even add an instructor giving swimming lessons in the water next to it.

    Idea for the empty rockface: Add like a pipe going out of the rock and the water flowing out of it, maybe place a rat or smth inside

    I think it might be nice to put tall trees between the new red building and the basketball court that you plan to do. When I say big trees are plane trees that we have in France, I do not know if it exists in Germany. It’s a lot of shade and hard during the heat, without hiding the buildings behind in your city.

    I think an Airbnb or a hotel next to the harbor, with the seasside view would look fantastic. Especially with a bridge and houses near! Great video, like always

    I can't wait for the Moon moc to come back. I love the variety of building techniques used throughout the builds.

    If you are building a basketball court you should build a mesh fence around it - preferably a right colour like red or blue - and put white football (soccer) goals at the end as well as hoops. In England these types of courts are common in city areas and it allows you to pose minifigures in a basketball game or football match!

    The empty space in front of the newly built red houde is a perfect place for a town square, with a church maybe, just sharing ideas. Love your vids!

    in that empty space i think a little waterfall from like an underground spring would look SO cool and clean! just a thought lol

    An idea for the bridge, if you want it: A lot of bridges in my area have little shops, cafes and bars under the arches, with one open for a pedestrian and bike path. That could be a cool way to change up the direction of the "people" in your city in that area rather than having one long promenade!

    I feel a good addition would be little wild animals. A few birds and squirrels in trees. A man walking a dog. A cat prowling on a wall. Some seagulls waiting for the fishermen to unload their fish by the docks. Things like that!

    It would be cool to make a small little cave in that blank rock face. Could be a half-water cave, and maybe have a minifigure in a small boat or raft going into it or coming out of it. Could even add a treasure chest or some secret all the way in the back for anyone who manages to get a peek inside

    for the pizzeria I would suggest a slight change in detail, I would make the oven bigger and open (for possible lighting), move the door all the way to one side, angle the counter by 90 degrees and make one window a pick up window. Just a suggestion as these kind of pizzerias were always my favorite in Europe and are usually self serve.

    I love that your Lego world just teems with life! It really feels like a functioning world where people go about their lives. I wish I lived in your MOC (especially in the village)!

    Seeing the tram run is great, but has me wondering whether you're going to try and add the power lines for it? The rest of the city has such incredible attention to detail that the more it is developed the more odd it'll look without that factored in. Could look really nice using some thread.

    Perhaps the empty space could include a water outlet pipe into the ocean - I think it would add realism for a coastal city and give the impression of water pipes running under the whole city!
