Kinda wish EA was a bit more cooperative with Valve on the Steam Deck and Linux/SteamOS considering the history of the two, with EA being the publisher of The Orange Box back in 2007. Hell, they can hire someone or some people to work on a Linux client for the EA App itself which packages a patched version of Wine intended for EA games similar to Proton.

Mass Effect LE is such a good candidate for Steam Cloud saving but EA/Bioware couldn't be bothered. The least they could have done is do it through the EA app like Rockstar does with their own launcher but nope, as usual, the move from Origin to EA Desktop has no benefit to the customer.
Luckily through my testing (and the game that truly caused me to make this video *grumbles*)...ME LE didn't need me to backup the save files, but the warning is still good to have so no one can blame me for losing it :P
My "easy" solution is open the game once with proton 6.3.8 and somehow this proton allows the ea app to update. Then it gets stuck into Grey ea app screen... Close it and then open it with experimental. Now everything should work normally

They simply decided to support Ubuntu LTS for desktop and maybe Arch based for your Steam Deck due to their Steam OS. They are also illogical because these references (especially Ubuntu) are framed to a vision of 15 years ago. Linux based systems (any) are evolved from a long time, independently from just gaming.

Also, the only decent way to use their client is with Heroic that have a quicker and easier fix for this issue: uninstall the client, download the .exe from their official website and then reinstall from it through Heroic manager. Also, any games that doesn't support cloud saves (like The Sims4) requires a manual backup before that, otherwise you lose anything anyways. They are annoying and appalling, alongside the Valve customer service that partially support Linux based systems with any LTS kernel in their common sense way.

You don't use the EA app directly, this is for games that have it on Steam.

Does this also work for desktop?
You need to manually remove the prefix folder but yup it works
My compatdata folder is completely empty wtf do i do😭
you probably have an sd card inserted. There are two compdata folders
Unfortunately, this method doesn’t help either, the game simply doesn’t start from desktop mode, although the EA app starts

Is happen to fifa22 as well or not .?
No that issue is EA’s new anti-cheat that EA would need to fix for Linux
