Can we just pause for a moment to appreciate that, after all these years, we are watching a video giving us the tactics for freakin' Zodiark. Day actually came.
yea, kind of disappointing that he was like a nothing boss in the end. I wonder if we'll ever get to see him at full power and not missing limbs and half his torso.
@@SpydersByte if you consider what follows his death, I’d say he still packed a punch regardless, what with starting what should have been an unavoidable apocalypse.
@@SpydersByte The whole moon part was a little disappointing imo. Before the game came out the moon was constantly hyped up like the big ending to the saga, but you just go there really early quickly beat up Zodiark and never really return for anything important. Even the part of it being a huge ship is kinda pointless since we just beat up Meteion.
I've found speaking out loud with this fight has really helped me become the dorito for my groups. For the snake + fire wall patterns, I'll say out loud "if he rotates right, column 1 and 3 are safe", and then do the opposite if I see he's rotating left. Or for star patterns "side, center, then boss's face. Side, center, then boss's face." Really helps me out.
Since the Minstral's Ballad is like an exaggerated retelling of events, it would have been fun to have Zodiark be 100% complete in appearance for this one.
The way I handle the rotating snakes is partly because I noticed they’re never next to each other, it always alternates safe line, unsafe line. So I just look at one snake and the rotation arrow, if that snake is on the first row in rotating direction I know I am safe on the second row, and vice versa.
This is the best trial thumbnail and title I've seen for an endwalker trial so far. It's extremly clear for us that have finished the msq, without spoiling a thing for those that haven't
And the beauty of it is that he can, and will, change it to show the Trial in due time when things aren't as spoilery; there are people who still can't even log in... If only other TH-camrs were as considerate.
@@minertia8370 its been changed since I wrote this comment. Originally the title called it something like "the accessories trial" and the thumbnail didn't show the boss
I don't have much luck with "Follow the leader" during Astral Eclipse. When going diagonally to the third safe spot, I always seem to get clipped by one of the other hits. Frustratingly, I die right on top of the circle in the safe spot. Bad for my blood pressure. When I try to make my own pattern, instead of following the group, I always seem to go for the other safe spot. Splits the party up. And since I'm not exactly great at this, I see people going another way, doubt myself, try to follow, and end up a step behind and dead. But this is the first EX I've done as current content. I'll get better, and the pugs will get better as well.
Thankyou for the guide. I was struggling to understand this fight and now I'm sure I can do it. The book closing analogy is great to understand that mechanic.
I've been struggling with astral flow, your description of how you resolve it was helpful. Kind of reminds me of how I would resolve the player's shadow mechanic in e10s. Ty
Thanks heaps dude, I’ve been playing this game on and off since Stormblood and only finished MSQ when Endwalker was 2 months away, so Extremes and Raids have been new to me, a bit daunting when you first start but the community is fantastic and the fights are definitely intimidating the first time but are a lot more doable than anticipated. Your videos are awesome, thanks again!
I actually think a lot of people respected expedience, it was more-so that scholar seemed boring and basic compared to sage as well as all the flashy new skills everyone got. The problem I found with Astral Eclipse, especially after seeing your video, is that the safe spots don't seem to be according to the direction you are facing at the time.
