This video sums up a lot of important things for new players, well done! :D One thing to add: If you want to stop at an island, you *can* drop your anchor to come to a halt. But make sure to *raise* your sails and the anchor right after!
Sometime I need to do a test: raising sails and slowly coming to a stop vs sailing at island full speed and dropping anchor last second, raising sails, and then raising anchor.
Yeah people really need to stop pushing this "never use your anchor" narrative. Mfs think they are so good at the game with their slow, awkward approaches to islands using sails only. Sail up full speed, drop anchor, raise sails, raise anchor, and I'm off the boat while you are still slowly drifting in to shore.
Yo Blurbs just wanna thank you for your streams and yt videos helping out new players giving tips and nourishing PvP on the newer playerbase having been playing this game for almost 3 years I cant thank you enough for being the first PvP content creator that I found on this amazing game that helped me a bunch keep on doing great content, sorry if my english is bad btw
Very well written and put together, Blurbs! This is everything the game doesn't tell you and trying to figure a lot of this out is when most new players quit. They should just show this video to new players instead of doing Maiden Voyage lol
Started playing yesterday being a solo slooper. It's pretty hard. I wish it was possible to assemble an ai crew so that you can at least stand a chance against other players
As a new (mostly) solo slooper myself, i recommend you just get good at outrunning and outmanuvering/escaping if you run into a big group of enemy players or something, while ive had luck in pvp against even 3 person crews (ive gotten very lucky with the sheer amount of fire ammo ive looted for my cannons, its very handy for keeping small crews off your back while they work to put out the flame, which allows you to pump normal cannonballs into their hull and just swap between the two as needed, its fairly simple if you have the supplies) i notice that just making tight manuvers that the bigger ships cant will save you a lot of the time
Oh my god they finally added supply buys that is fuxking awesome. I remember playing a couple years ago thinking man they should add something to quickly build up cannons and planks
It's funny that I bought the pre release controller for this game and then never came back after launch. I started playing again yesterday and everyone was freaking out because I had the ferrymans outfit 😂 I didn't realise it was so valuable. This is one of those games that I come back to on occasion to play for a few hours, but it just isn't something that fully draws me in as my main game. Like the video says, you really have to be all in on the PVP aspect. Even though at times I enjoyed, it also is the thing that keeps me from sticking with it long term. I'll play on and off at times, but I'll always go back to other games.
I’ll definitely keep this video in mind for when I can get the game! I’ve wanted to play it for a while now, I actually bought it previously.. only to find out my current laptop can’t handle it LMAO

A bit misleading. It says its EVERYTHING you need to know but this just covers PVP. While yes, it is open PVP there is still SO MUCH MORE to the game that can be done and enjoyed without dealing with PVP unless it is brought onto you.
It's amazing that after five years and every content creator (including the small ones) saying that the game is possibly dying, or in very drastic decline, that the very first thing everyone says at the start of every video is "This is a purely PVP game, and you are consenting to PVP just by playing the game." Funny how everyone makes the same "I swear I'm not an A$$hole, I'm just playing the game" statement, then when they are trying to do special PVE events themselves will do the very same things they get outraged at non-PVP'ers for. No seriously, go watch other streamers and TH-camrs vids of them trying to do gilded Athena quest, or grinding for the Hunters Call, they will do everything in their power including trying to tell those attacking them that they are streaming live to get them to stop attacking. Cliff's video was true justice when he attempted to do a gilded Athena and went as far as to portal jump to get away which subsequently took his quest away, hahahaha. Hitbo is another hypocrite by making one vid where he condemned a crew for taking a kids gilded Athena by briging him, then in his very next vid he stole all the loot from another crew that did a gilded and gave it away to a completely different guy. So, the only difference was the kid didn't waste hours to have his loot taken, he just had it taken before he could even start. To be honest sea of thieves is only fun if you’ve played it long enough to actually be good at the game, if your bad you’ll just sink over and over again 💀
Just start with pve and slowly try pvp if you think you're ready
the best thing with sea of thieves is you can still get what you want even if you are objectively worse at pure pvp. I cant tell you how many times we ve tricked better players wkth my crew, that s why it s one of the best games out therr
@@038alphaexploited better players showing sympathy*
(Honestly would do the same 🤭👹)
Could do with a lot more basics...
