Seatbelt has to be on for parking brake to disengage automatically.
I wonder why? What’s the point.
Yep, that’s it
@@fergman300 safety. Gives me piece of mind when parked and I get out of the drivers seat. If kids climb into front seat and hit the stalk to put in D/R, then the car won’t go anywhere.
@@fergman300because this shouldn't be moving without your seatbelt on. Manually override

They are great! Just got a set. Thanks for the feedback and sharing your experience, Cheers!
Base on your review this car is very good for the price
Thanks for the feedback, Cheers!
2.0 will make the car much more better! You will definitely love the car as soon as you got it.
I just got it, complete install. Video here:

Thanks for your great first-mover vids of the Fisker Ocean Sport. Very useful and interesting 🌊👍🌊
Also looking forward to you testing it with software OS 2.0 😊
Videos coming soon! Thanks for watching, Cheers!
you need to have your seatbelt in for the parking brake to disengage automatically
lol
Thanks for this!
Nissan + Fisker. It'll get a great synergy. Hope the merger/investment goes through and it makes Fisker and Nissan great again.
Hahahaha yeah ok....btw I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.
Why? Nissan is bleeding money and can't save themselves.
Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
I heard Nissan has been selling 40% of their cars to rental companies, And then those cars get dumped back into the market in 18 months further destroying their brand value….
@@outkast40 and Fisker has a product to sell, but needs a huge investment and dealership network.
Dude. First of all congrats on the car. Also, in your very short time with the car you have already been so much more helpful than anyone out there. Specially you know who at Fiskerati. That guy is full of BS. Please keep up the videos coming.
I appreciate you tuning in. Lots to come, Cheers!
Seatbelt on for parking brake off. Its works everytime
Thank you for this, Cheers!
Great video, a few comments:
As others have mentioned, i can put my car in drive without my seatbelt on, but the parking brake will not automatically disable it I'm not buckled in
You can set the cruise with your foot on the accelerator. Its one press of the top button on the right hand side of the steering wheel to activate cruise, and then you can set cruise speed by either pressing that button again or moving the right dial up or down.
Fun fact, after you set cruise, the top button is disable/cancel and pressing the dial in is resume.
Lastly, I and others have seen a big initial range hit if the car/battery are cold, I.E. sitting outside all day/over night when it's below 40f. Basically, dumping a lot of energy to warm up the battery.
Doing this same test in the spring could, naturally, yield a decent chunk of extra milage.
I had to read your description of cruise 3 times before I was in agreement!
I think of it as the top button as arm/set/pause and the scroll wheel press as resume. So first time use of cruise on each drive requires a double press of the top button, to arm and then set to the current speed. There after it’s only ever one press the scroll to resume last set speed or the top button toggles between set to current speed and pause.
As far as I can tell there is no way to “disarm” the cruise once it’s been armed on a journey?
Agreed. Also, I wish it was just always on, the first double press is unnecessary.
Great points! Warm weather test coming soon. And I need to buckle up, as well. Thanks for the insights! Very helpful, Cheers!
Here in Quebec, the Sport got more subsidies ($12k) than the Ultra ($5k). So the Sport is definitely the one I may purchase and I guess it's the same for most of potential Fisker buyers from here. Therefore, we're a bunch of people really interested in your content. Thanks and please post more videos 😉
More coming soon! Thanks for sharing this, Cheers!
As always, great video Adam. I have an order for an Ocean Sport, so this info is really helpful. Thank you!
Thanks for watching, I hope you have a great experience, Cheers!
Thanks Adam (and as always, Connie). It did look like you were in both Earth and Fun mode on the trip, which should affect the range (especially if it is resistive heat in the cold weather). My son had a Soul EV with LFP battery and it took a huge winter range hit in WA State. You may get a nice summer bump!
I agree with this 100%. Great points, Cheers!
Looks like you are happy thus far..... as I knew you would be. 9,082 miles on mine already.
Keep on going! Glad you’re having a good experience as well, Cheers!
Thanks for the awesome video.😊
Thanks for watching, Cheers!
Loving these videos. First to TH-cam with serious Ocean Sport content. ❤

Thanks for the great review
Thanks for watching, Cheers!
Thanks for the new video Adam. I've watched your channel since I reserved my Sport about a year ago and made it into an order in July, so thought I had better do the right thing and join up. My Sport has a similar spec to yours - white / 20" wheels / winter package - and is due to go into build this coming week at Magna according to Fisker guy in London on the VIN number 135XX. I've looked through comments and didn't see anything, so apologies if this has been asked already - the wing mirrors on the Sport do not auto-fold when locking/unlocking the car, I know you (and other Sport owners) have stuff you were not expecting like Hollywood and Boost mode. What is the situation with the mirrors - do they auto fold? If not, do the fold switches work so you can do it manually? I've also seen videos where the mirrors will dip down when you engage reverse so that you can see the kerb. Is that possible on the Sport? Thanks in advance and keep up the great work.
Excellent questions: The mirrors do not move when changing gear. Also, the Sport mirrors do not power fold or auto dim. I’ll address this in an upcoming video. Thanks so much for your support, and enjoy your upcoming adventures, Cheers!
For the parking brake to disengage, you can do it manually with the "P" button, or shifting into D or R works along with stepping on the accelerator. You have to get the feel of how far to press the accelerator. A gentle touch doesn't do it. You'll soon figure out how much "pressing" it takes to disengage the parking brake, but it does happen.
One exception: The parking brake will NOT disengage in D or R no matter how hard you press the accelerator if your seatbelt isn't fastened. But pressing "P" button still works to disengage the parking brake without your seatbelt.
Thanks so much for this, Cheers!
Did a test drive last weekend (EU) and noticed the amount of irritating loud sound warnings when ao reaching speedlimit. It felt like it was constant beeping and we had no idea why, even when driving slow, Yes all seatbelts were on before someone asks.
Agreed. The test units don’t have the capability to turn everything off. So, if you were in a test unit, I understand the frustration. Thanks for sharing your experience, Cheers!
Hey Adam, What about the front wheel motors. Is it something you can feel? Can you feel it as huge acceleration when you put it in drive?
Yes. Every EV does this. Even slow ones. The Sport isn’t slow, but it’s by no means fast in the EV class. However, it’s certainly more powerful in daily driving applications than Every gas SUV under $100,000. And by a lot. Good question, Cheers!
I've been to that EA stop in Belle Vernon a couple of times. Stalls 2 and 3 don't work all that well (got a max of 92kW), but on the stall you used my FOO got 131 kW max charging speed.
Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry definitely slows the charging. Thanks for your feedback, good to know this info about the other stalls, Cheers!
Great review. I have had the same issues regarding front collision warning and the spotty disengagement of the parking brake.
I also lose miles of range if my Ocean sits while not on a charger. Usually about a mile an hour. Have you experienced this?
Not as much. And it’s because my vehicle was delivered with the first part of 2.0 software. More on this in upcoming videos, Cheers!
@@Aslash304 Ah hah. Glad yours was updated before you got it! Enjoy!!!
Love to get your take on the Prolog
Will do, I’ll see if I can get ahold of one, Cheers!
Setting cruise control works for me whether my foot is pressing on the accelerator or not. The nuance is you have to press the selection button twice. Once to enable CC. Once again to set the speed.
Much appreciated, Cheers!
Yup! Would love to see how the Prologue looks beside the Ocean.
Will do! Cheers!
Boys on it! How many miles per kw was that trip Adam?
2.7, in cold weather in the mountains. Not bad. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
Hey Adam what version OS are you in? I don’t see the navigation settings for plan a trip or 3D building options. I was told several times by support that my vehicle had the 1.11 pt2 though visually displays 1.11 1/2 and they’re telling me that their system is more correct than my car. Also how much per kW was that Electrify America you charged at? Congrats on receiving your Sport.
I’ll answer all these in an upcoming video! Great suggestions, ( and as of me writing this comment, I have all 3 of 2.0. ) look for more stuff very very soon, Cheers!
@@Aslash304 I actually went back and checked. It does have these options except for the fact that the TomTom mapping still has the older display mode where the “blue sky” takes half of the map section vs how yours and others I’ve seen where the blue sky is only a smaller section of the map. Mine also doesn’t display the 3D buildings even if selected in options. Thank you
Good vid. In cold winter temps around freezing I see about 80-100 miles of range, Our Tesla model Y long range only gets 175-200 tops. Nissan will not save Fisker IMO, because Nissan can not even make an affordable EV on their own. Best to stick with Tesla or Rivian for a car or truck/suv for now.
This is a solid philosophy for someone looking for the best quality EV. Thanks for sharing, Cheers!
Thanks Adam. Is your Sport a 2023 model or a 2024 model?
Great question: 2023. It probably took 2 months to ship it, and I got it in February. So I wasn’t surprised. Thanks for your comment, Cheers!
Hi Adam! I noticed that the big sky roof doesn’t have the separation bar at the middle of the roof like in the extreme or ultra. Am I right or it’s just not showing in the video?
100% correct. Just a giant piece of beautiful, unobstructed, head-room granting glass. Great spot, Cheers!
no need I think as it doesn't open. The separation bar is actually just a hollow plastic bar with cables inside.
Adam, I am enjoying your presentation and quality of your production, I saw quite a few of your videos.
The only ask I have is please tell us the driving experience of this car comparing to Tesla Y and other electric cars. Simply telling us about Ocean Sport does not work, at least for me. I own Ford Mach-E. It jerks a bit while driving at the lower speed, because it regenerates the electric charge. Thank you)
I’ll do this in an upcoming video. Thanks for this, Cheers!
@@Aslash304 Great!!! Please address the following, when comparing, if you can:
- how car is driving, smooth or jerks, turns/handling
- breaking
- the safety (when all this software is on the top of our driving)
- quietness inside
- noise when it drives on the slow speed, the regs are forcing ev-manufacturers to make that noise
- steering wheel handling
The key point, for me, is Fisker a luxury car? Does it feel as the luxury car? Why people comparing Fisker Ocean with model Y, where Model Y is a good EV, but I do not feel sitting inside that it is a luxury car.
Ocean Sport is about $45k, when it is out the door. I can buy Lexus Hybrid for the same price, but sitting inside Lexus, it is sitting inside Lexus :).
Your take is appreciated)))
What software version was your Sport delivered with?
2.0 part 1. I have the complete 2.0 now. Video is here: th-cam.com/video/Px2jf4rv9i8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6vgJWTrfy38H5TwM cheers!
What size battery is the Sport? At under 200 miles and only chargingat 76 kwh, it's definitely not a road tripper. So, just wondering as a daily driver, errand car, is it worth the efficiency?
73 (vs 113 on Ultra / Extreme). Difference is 52% in range (based on WLTP) - extra range when choosing the bigger battery. But real range in daily usage depends on so many factors. Just realise WLTP can only be reached when driving an average speed of 46,5 km/hr with 23C temperature outside (you might need to convert this to unlogical local values ;) )
Sport has 73kWh. 90% of people won’t need the long range battery, but when you do, it makes a world of difference. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
It is charging at 76kw (not kWh). Which is real slow for 2024. And 200miles range is also under par. Charging at 1C while many are at 3+C
Such a good looking car. great to see you doing the real things an owner would do. wheels are not doing it for me. just look dirty. still, lots of options. keep the content pumping.
Will do! Thanks for watching and sharing your feedback, Cheers!
the Wheels look great, I was actually surprised it has nice wheels
Also, you can divide your milage by the battery % used to get your effective 100%-0% range.
I.e. 145.9/0.75=194.5mi
Same math you did, just skips a step.
Well done! I wanted to illustrate it in easy to follow steps, but this is accurate and easier, Cheers!
Based on the charging you did and the amount of miles you got. Can you share any observation of gas vs charging cost.
Good suggestion! I’ve got a pretty good breakdown here:
th-cam.com/video/ZbS95v7_WMo/w-d-xo.html the miles per kWh for this trip was almost exactly what I get in my Model Y in the winter at 2.7 miles per kWh, summer it’s more like 4. I’ll perform this test again with the ocean. Stay tuned, Cheers!
I've found that the gear stick is a little finicky. If I "weak arm" it (not all the way to the full range of motion), it doesn't shift to D or R. Looks like you might have discovered the same thing. It'll take a little getting used to.
Tesla can be this way too. I agree. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
I wonder why the CCS charging was so slow. Possibly the station? I got double the speed on mine at that SOC. The Sport and Extreme should have similar charging speed. Maybe the smaller pack size and chemistry makes a difference.
Lithium. Iron. Phosphate. Teslas with Nevada Panasonics charge at 250, CATL LFPs charge at 175. I have both in my garage. More charging data coming soon, Cheers!
@@Aslash304 Thanks, interesting to see real world differences. I look forward to your testing.
So what was the outside temperature? Did I miss that?
Lithium-Iron-Phosphate especially doesn’t like charging when cold.
Ah 7:08 there is a temperature of 39F which is 4C. That certainly explains some of the range and charging speed. Was the battery preheated before charging? Probably not?
All correct. Cold day, no preconditioning. I just wanted to test it. More charging data soon, thanks for this, Cheers!
Looking forward to more….👍
I’ll keep it coming. Thanks for watching, Cheers!
Have same issue on Drive and release of parking break (ultra, not on 2.0 yet)
It’s the seatbelt. I figured it out today, Cheers!
@@Aslash304 ah, so buckle first then select
I'm so happy I didn't get this ev when they emailed me. 😊
I appreciate your feedback, Cheers!
Do you have the option to upgrade to OS 2.0 yet?
I did. Video here: Fisker Ocean Sport User Interface Tour with Software 2.0
th-cam.com/video/Px2jf4rv9i8/w-d-xo.html Cheers!
Adam, what is the max range for the Fisker Sport? You rec'vd about 200 miles only? Are you OK with that?
I am. The Model 3 SR has same pack from same company, and gets 230-250. The Ocean has a higher drag coefficient, so it checks out. I just took a 500 mile road trip in it, with my model y long range alongside it, and the experience is almost identical, video soon. Thanks for your feedback, stay tuned, Cheers!
Good to know that turning off all the driver assistance features you paid for will prevent them from distracting you with erroneous alerts as they constantly malfunction. Suggesting that other reviewers should have simply disabled and disregarded the faulty software and only evaluated the things that work most of the time is a totally valid point.
A very solid sarcastic presentation. This response was meticulously crafted, and thoughtfully delivered. 9.4/10. I was also utilizing sarcasm when I said Mat Watson should have turned off all the systems. I should be banished to the “horrible person zone.” Your feedback is sincerely appreciated. Keep it coming. Final sarcastic thought: The Ocean has perfect software, and because of that, is never annoying to drive. Cheers!
Parking brake is automatic. You only press the button to disengage it while reversing or moving forward. Try it!
I appreciate the feedback, Cheers!
It's real concerning if Fisker removed the mileage efficiency and energy consumption calculations from the trip screen. Why would they do that? Hopefully it's a mistake and they'll bring it back with the full 2.0 software version.
I have full 2.0. No efficiency data, unfortunately. It may just be One/Extreme that get it. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
Mat Watson said that when you turn the warnings off the information doesn't get saved so you have to do it every time you get in the car. That isn't what owners are saying. So maybe Mat made a mistake.
In Europe those warnings are required by EU regulation to default to on every time you start up, as of July (IIRC) this year. Yes it’s a pain and it applies to EVERY new car sold not just EVs,
As Matt was driving a U.K. spec Ocean then he was correct.
@@timoliver8940Ok fair enough my mistake for not knowing that. Sorry to Mat.
Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
Show the Skyroof( non opening). And play some music and TH-cam on screen. I thought the range would be over 200 in city.
Good point. Range could be more than 200 in most areas. I live in the mountains. City driving can definitely play a positive role in range. Roof reveal next video. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
@@Aslash304 Good owner review so far. Wanted the Pear but starting to like the Sport but red with extra stuff. Hopefully with new software can improve the range super earth...
Can you do a 65 - 70 range test pls
Will do, Cheers!

I dunno real world range test ive seen ,you actually have to drive the car down near 0..not 25%...but entertaining video none the less
I used 75% of the battery, divided the result by 3 and multiplied by 4. The only other unknown would be the buffer. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
@Aslash304 well I do understand that but the 25c,% is not real world driving ..it's estimating ..I'm sure close to accurate buy could be wider ..have a good one
My real world range is 270-280 on full charge of 360, about 75%, so Adam’s is about the same.
Good catch! Thanks for sharing, Cheers!
In the following video, have someone call you; whenever someone calls me, issues happen. For one, the volume is way too low.
Haven’t even connected the phone for this reason. Since the music is already on the interface, and I use my phone to film, I’m going to wait to pair it. Thanks for your feedback, I sincerely appreciate it, Cheers!
Great test, that's exactly what you want to see. I did the same with my Rivian, I was very impressed with the range on it. Fyi Ill appreciate a subscription if you are interested in a small potatoes you tube channel. 😅
I appreciate the feedback, I’ll check it out, Cheers!

its a shame it only has 200 milkes of range , not sure i can handle that for $45K car , otd. its not acceptable to me. what kind of wheels are under those ugly covers. can you stream anything else besides spotify, what other apps are avaialble.
275 miles

It will get 215-220 in warmer weather. I’ll post the wheels in an upcoming video. iHeart radio, and tune in radio is it for right now other than Spotify. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
25 grand.
Those are numbers
Sell that thing ! They are very close to going out of business.
This is true. But I’ll hang on and see how it goes. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
That is a little disappointing and underwhelming.
It’s disappointing. But it’s also difficult to expect more range. It’s the same cells from the same company as the model 3 rwd, and the model 3 has a class leading drag coefficient. It gets 230-240 real world, so 200 makes sense to me. Also, I’ve got more charging data coming soon. And it’s better news. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
YOU NEVER NEED PARKING BRAKE UNLESS U LIVE IN HILLS.....
I live in Hills. Also, the parking brake engages every time you put the vehicle in park. Not like an auto transmission gas car. Totally different. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers!
