-Their very unique concept and sound
-incredible visuals (their leader and eldest member JiU was recently voted the most beautiful woman in kpop in TWO separate polls)
-really hard-hitting, gender-neutral choreography (member Sua did the choreography for Red Sun!) that’s unusually intense by girl group standards
-Dami’s really unique deep rap voice
-their incredible stage charisma and the fact that they sing live
-the quality of their cover songs, how they cover a lot of boy group songs and completely make them their own
-their amazing vocals, of course ( main vocalist, Siyeon, is one of the best singers in the industry if not the world)
-how fun and friendly their off-stage personalities are (seriously nearly every reality show they go on comments on how chaotic and fun they are, and they’re friends with a TON of other idols and always talking about others they want to meet)
-and last but not least, their whole company is kind of an outlier in the industry for the familial relationship they have with the girls and how much freedom they have. Unlike many idols in other companies, they’re allowed to drink and have tattoos, and they’re really encouraged to eat what they want and manage their weight healthily through exercise

What are they known for?
Biases aside, I'm 100% saying the truth here.
Dreamcatcher are known for everything that you've already mentioned the visuals, distinct sound, and dancing but most of all they are known for their underrated vocals.
Visual: Dreamcatcher members have very distinctive facial features which set them apart from everybody else especially Siyeon and Dami. Their visuals are very distinctive that you can easily point them out within a crowd.
Distinct Sound: Rock is not a very popular genre in the Korean music scene which is why Dreamcatcher is very brave for introducing the genre in the Kpop world and combining the genres creating a very unique sound that they can only pull off since they have already mastered it sometimes it's already being called the Dreamcatcher genre.
Dancing: Dreamcatcher is one of the few Kpop girl groups who have very difficult choreographies, along with GFriend and LOONA their synchronizations are on point. Dreamcatcher's main dancer Sua is also a gifted choreographer RED SUN being one of her creations.
Vocals: They have powerhouse vocalists which set them at the level of BIG MAMA, Davichi, Girls Day, SISTAR, SNSD-TTS, MAMAMOO but unfortunately they are still being slept on.
FYI again : They also said during their times in a variety show called Weekly Idol that this song is about a love-turns-into-obsessive and toxic(?) relationship. The word of "BE" in a form of capital words came from Hanja word that means "sadness", and so it represent with their hands gesture that symbolizing the word. And one interesting fact about this mv, it was inspired from a horror movie called Us.

Dreamcatcher didn’t use to include a live band. But because a lot of fans make instrument covers and everyone stated they would love to see a live band DC started to incorporate live bands into their concerts (this was during the pandemic so it was only online for now). They have other performances outside of the concerts where they perform with a live band. And their song Mayday has a video where they perform with a band made entirely out of insomnias (the fandom name).

Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
I'm not going to talk about every track you listened to, but three stick out for me: Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
In BEcause, Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done.
About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you".
The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

As a guy that comes from listening metal and rock all the time... I never really liked Kpop. However, my sister asked me to try them out since it's "closer" to what I listen to.
I figured why the hell not and tried listening to them. I was pleased to hear a rock/edm/pop fuse in their sound. Which is quite rare and unique, especially in kpop. Not to mention they do choreographies for every song as well.
And you pretty much hit the nail in the head with their songs and concepts. I support them for these reasons.
They remind me of KARD, a coed group, because they're also unique in that way. There's something about them being a boys & girls group of 4. Which is rare in Korean groups. They're the only two groups I have liked so far. Any new recommendations are encouraged

They're having a comeback this April! Look out for it in their media channels.
Dreamcatcher (DC/Deukae) is an unique 7 member girl group. As far as I know, it's the only K-pop group which *CONSISTENTLY* infuse pop with rock/metal instrumentals within *ALL* their *TITLE TRACKS*.
I prefer calling them K-pop/rock group.
Their songs incorporate different genres blending rock/metal/synth sounds into the mix. Thus creating an unique blend of sound, which has become their signature. They're also known to produce dark/creepy concept, and their MVs are mostly story based, connecting one song to another.
On the other hand, their B-sides holds a *HUGE* variety of genres and experimental fusion creativity. Ballads, EDM, jazz, funk, reggae, hard metal/rock, just to name some. Their versatility seems infinite, as they continue to surprise us everytime they comeback with new songs. Like the one watched, Red Sun, is a B-side.
Even the idols themselves show their creativity by taking part and getting credited for the composing, writing, choreographies of some of the songs too. They have also done numerous covers, adding their own twist to the songs, making it their own. Red Sun was Choreographed by their Main Dancer, SuA.

Dreamcatcher are the dark Queens of kpop! They are one of the most talented groups out and criminally underrated. They also have the most consistently hardest choreography amongst all female kpop groups.

if you wish to hear their music played with a live band, check their videos from their "CROSSROADS" concert which is divided into 2 days, Utopia and Dystopia version wherein the Utopia version is where the songs have been rearranged for a more softer style, while for the Dystopia version wherein their songs were given that hard, rock, energetic vibe from the band AND ofc the vocals!! ^_^ ENJOOOOOOOY!

They had one of the most unique concept in kpop group girls! Dreamcather is amazing!
The song is called Red Sun, in Korea, at least what I've learned from comment sections, "red sun" means hypnotized. Now ask yourself, did you notice the green lamp in the center of the video? After about a hundred watches, I noticed it, and googled it. It's called a bankers lamp.
It's not that it directly means hypnotized. It's a Korean pop-culture reference that they're familiar with. There was a hypnotist on TV (Kim Yeong-Guk) who used Red Sun with a hand gesture as his catch phrase when putting people under hypnosis. So, now Koreans will sometimes use the phrase as reference to that when doing a hypnotic move, which would give people in the know a chuckle.
The "BEcause" MV is probably the only "cute" MV you will see from Dreamcatcher 😂 Musically speaking, they are unique within K-POP (rock pioneers) and the level of choreographies is always high, being BEcause's the most "easy" compared to other choreographies.

What stands out the most about Dreamcatcher is their discography, choreo and concept. Their discography is focused on rock for title tracks but the rest of their album is focused on variety. Their choreo is always very cool, wether it's intense or more sensual. They've always stood out for their intros, Endless night choreo being their most difficult. Their concept being dark, they have a nightmare series connecting title tracks chase me, good night, fly high, you and I, what, Piri and Breaking out. Then they have dystopia which is Scream, Boca and Odd eye. They tend to connect their other lores together but one thing that always stays the same is their dark concept. Even in elegant fantasy concepts such as Deja vu, it's still dark fantasy. Hope that helps. I'm currently halfway through the video and noticed this question repeating a few times.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this here.. but they're also amazing at performing in concerts. I was already interested in their music late 2018-early 2019. And then I watched them perform live when they were on tour... instantly converted me into a huuuuuge fan. I've watched quite a number of kpop concerts (about 6-7groups by now) live over the years.. but Dreamcatcher's and Mamamoo's.. wow. Both of their concerts made an insanely huge lasting impression on me.
First of all, thanks for reacting and loving all of the music video. I can't believe you binge watch all of that at once. Haha cause yes there's a storyline here and there but it's ok, you can always watch it back later. As you've seen and heard they're not an ordinary kpop girl group. They infuse different genre into their base rock sound with perfect flow and transition. Let's not stop here. You need to get into their b-sides too cause its offer a variety of sound. to answer the llive band question,.. it depends. sometimes they use live bands. like in the last few online concerts they played. but afaik they havent used live bands in music shows

Its funny because Atiny and Insomnia (Dreamcatcher’s fandom) are known for being pretty closed. Ateez and Dreamcatcher are often sees like « cousins » group because two of the producers for Dreamcatcher are also part of the production team of Ateez. And Ateez is DC’s main vocalist Siyeon fav boygroup

Dreamcatcher are known for: They're all great Visuals (as we can see), they have incredible Vocals, amazing choreography, even more amazing Dancing, their signature Rock sound, their musical versatility, their intricate or meaningful storylines, even more incredible b-sides, a show stopping stage presences with some of the best performers in the industry, their amazing songs, their rapper Dami, being super entertaining, funny, crazy and chaotic behind the scenes and the love, respect and deep caring between the 7 members. #Dreamcatcher
Nightmare series was a long story line so some people say everything else DC has done is also part of some bigger story when it's not. Dystopia is a series related by themes but no plot. They're most known for creating their own rock/metal sound and doing dark/scary concepts instead of cute or crush (which a bunch of other girl groups started doing in 2021 after DC paved the road for that to be accepted). People quickly recognize their vocal talent, visuals, and powerful choreo too. That said they have an entire non-rock discography that would sound like an incredibly talented completely different group if you didn't know better: July 7, Wonderland, And There Was No One Left...
Smaller stuff: Her name is Dami, you know who I mean. Everyone notices Gahyeon's lips she's stunning. It's all of them, every one of them will get you like that as you dive more into them.

Dreamcatcher has a comeback with their 2nd full album on the 12th of April. 'Apocalypse: Save us' starts new trilogy or Storyline with Title Track 'MAISON'.
In this album each of them have a Solo Song which they participated in writing and composing.
Dreamcatcher characteristics:
- Talent: They all can sing live on spot without a problem. In particular Siyeon and Yoohyeon are above the like 'standard' of the industry, in my opinion. Sua has done various choreographies for them. They are a group of 'Aces', they all can dance, sing, rap, etc.
- Charisma: They are one of those artists that can hype a crowd. Their concerts and stages are always insanely amazing because they are so energetic and charismatic.
- Personalities: They are absolutely sweethearts and very loud and dorky and goofy and very very chaotic. They also have so much chemistry with each other and are very affectionate. They are very genuine and natural.
- Live: They are of the few groups that have had their concerts with Live Band on stage with them.
- Supportive: They are open about being supportive to LGBTQ+.
- Covers: They have A LOT of covers, they are so talented that they can make any style and genre their own.
You won't regret getting to know them.

Deja Vu by Dreamcatcher is one I would suggest you listen to it’s beautiful.
I do realize that you had NO idea about the storylines or any of it at all, so I can't be mad. You did actually start with one of their later songs, which happened to be number three in that particular trilogy. Scream was the beginning and Boca was the middle; at least you got that entire storyline arc in one go.
Piri also happened to be (sort-of) the end of the previous storyline arc (oh, well). There is a Japanese-language track that is said to be the true ending to that storyline (it's called the Nightmare arc). It's a toss-up between the two songs and I just lump them in together regardless of language. The story was awesome and whether it ends with one song or the other, I enjoy both and I could even say that it ends with both songs (if there was a way to intertwine them, that would have been awesome!).

Everyone else has explained pretty much everything, but I will go ahead and tell you they are one of the unique groups you'll experience both on and off the stage. You'll like them for their music, visuals, and choreo, but their history, relationship with their company, relationship to one another, relationship to other idols, beliefs, and very individual personalities will make you fall in love with them. Seriously. I didn't want to get this attached to a group, but you can't help it the more you learn about them. Thanks for the reactions and Dreamcatcher love!

Welcome to the Dreamworld! For the last five years, DreamCatcher has been bringing the hard rock and dark aesthetic vibes that many of us have been craving in K-pop. They are definitely known for their unique sound, which has helped make them quite popular abroad. They've even been recognized by a lot of rock and metal fans and many compare their title tracks to anime openings due to their grandness. Also, the overarching storyline in their MVs has given InSomnias a lot to sink our teeth into.
This is the perfect time for you to upload this video as Dreamcatcher just announced that they will be coming back in about two weeks with their second full-length album. It'll be their first full album release as OT7, as Handong was on a sort of hiatus from the group with they dropped Dystopia: Tree of Language in 2020. That is why she didn't appear in the Scream MV, Boca MV, or the Red Sun special clip. In late 2019, she returned to her home country of China to participate in a survival show called Youth with You. She ended up being unable to return to Korea until late 2020 due to COVID travel restrictions. Thankfully, since then we have gotten to enjoy seeing all seven of the girls together and Handong has emerged as a much more confident member of the group.

Dreamcather has a lot of awesome and outstanding songs on the B-side as well as title songs. So if possible, you have to listen to B-side songs to know the true Dreamcatcher. Thanks.
I notice the Ateez poster, you may be interested to know the music producers Leez & Ollounder who are brought in to help produce a lot of Ateez's music are also Dreamcatcher's main music producers. Basically they are brought in to help for Ateez, but Dreamcatcher is their pet project.
Other than having probably the best and sharpest choreo's among girl groups, a very strong vocal line by the industry standards, absolutely stunning visuals (they're all ridiculously pretty even by kpops high standards and JiU was voted no.1 visual in kpop, twice)
The are also known for never, never failing to perform. They always bring 100% to every performance. Their B-side discography is pretty big now and there are basically no bad songs, a lot of their b-sides are better than the title tracks. And covers, their covers of others songs usually add their own personal flavour, and in some cases you can say they are better than the originals. JiU being arguably the best leader in kpop girl groups and one of the sunniest people you will ever come across. Their absolute professionalism, like when their song Chase Me was played (one of, if not the most intense choreo's) instead of Daydream (ballad with no choreo) they were supposed to perform, so they all kicked off their high heels and just danced barefoot.
They are known for a lot, i'm barely scratching the surface here.
For 3rd gen kpop gg, for hard hitting choreo, gfriend is the bright side while dreamcatcher is the dark side.
I think with them it's either u don't know anything bout them or u know everything about them lol 😂😂

Dreamcatcher as a group are pretty much known for:
- *Visuals*
- *Storylines*
- *Dancing* - In the trinity of Kpop 'talents' (Dance, Singing, Rapping), they are first and foremost: A Dance group. They have often been considered a mirror group of Gfriend - exuding a darker concept, and more fast paced, powerful formation based, exhausting choreo compared to the very individually taxing, light, footworky choreos (and brighter concept) Gfriend is known for - and having equally difficult choreos as Gfriend.
- *Rock elements*
- *Darker/mature themes*
- *Stage Charisma*
- *Singing live* (quite uncommon in the kpop industry, but they've always tended to sing live whenever they can.)
- *Consistently outstanding covers!* (both singing and performance-wise)
- *Being the group with that cool low voiced Rapper!* (people really seem to get attached to Dami nowadays because of this xD)
- *Diversity* (mainly musically, but also in concept - 5/7 of them were in a a prior cuter concept group called Minx, the members are also very different off-stage than the intense 'characters' they perform as - bless them.)
- *Not being known!* - Their rock elements and very different concept make them unfavored, especially being from a small company (The industry is very much against their success, even to the extent of cheating them out of winning music shows - the infamous one being 'The Show' cheating them out of winning with their song 'Deja Vu').
While vocals aren't what they are 'known for' as a group, they have all become amazing vocalists over the years, Siyeon and Yoohyeon in particular are incredible, and arguably rival some of the best vocalists in the kpop industry.
I've probably missed a bunch of things, that aren't coming to mind right now, but to those who know Dreamcatcher, the list is long, of things that are notable about them. But for reasons I briefly mentioned above, they have been notoriously underrated since debut, though their following has been growing steadily over time.
