The “darker” voice is the voice of Dami. She has a pretty deep voice and is the main rapper. But everyone in this group can sing
Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 And they just got their first win with Maison, 1924 days after their debut! 🥳🥳😭😭
In Maison, they are touching on a very important subject. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert").
People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!"
Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder have done it again, and the members are just brilliant.
Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger!
Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
Dreamcatcher has 7 members (JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami and Gahyeon). They are active since 2017 and have been producing amazing music since then. They are considered to be a Rock Girl Group but this rock element is mostly just seen in their title tracks, sometimes in their b-sides, their albums includes worldview therefore have many different styles and genres in their b-sides, so you get a bit of everything and their songs are for everyone. These ladies are extremely versatile and hardworking, and got their first music show win just a few days ago after 5 years of debut, which is now the longest time between a girl group debut and first win. Their latest album 'Apocalypse:Save Us' is their first album that includes every members' solo and the girls have been heavily involved in writing the lyrics as well as production.

Ohhhhh Sony really pay attention to copyright things but also really makes a lot of music educators' life miserable.
I remember the Taiwanese professional pianist and piano educator Wiwi Kuan told the audiences that he has gotten so many copystrikes for his own solo performances on classical pieces which is insane since most of the piano solo pieces are public domain, not Sony's! And he even hasn't sign any contract being under the management of Sony before LMAO =.=

Also it’s fine to not distort and edit the mv and the song, the girls actually encourages reaction(and they themself watches reactions) so I don’t think you would have any issue!
The group are actually diverse, their title tracks are rock and their b-side touches many different genres such as jazz, edm, (many more), anyways glad m you enjoyed it!

Secondly, if you're reacting from their channel Dreamcatcher Company, it is safe to react without any distortion or effects from the video. The girls themselves watch reactions videos during their spare time. No strikes from the company.
Plus it's difficult to understand the exact sound which you're trying to explain when you have actually distorted the sounds yourself. 😅😅
But apart from what I've said, good reaction, it's just difficult to figure out your explanations because of the above-mentioned.
Anyway,
Dreamcatcher (DC/Deukae) is an unique 7 member girl group. As far as I know, it's the only K-pop group to have *CONSISTENTLY* infuse pop with rock/metal/synth instrumentals within *ALL* their *TITLE TRACKS*.
Their songs incorporate different genres blending rock/metal/synth sounds into the mix. Thus creating an unique blend of sound, their signature concept if you will. They're also known as the concept Queens, usually dark concept themes MVs, and their title tracks MVs have always been story based, connecting one song to another. **This is only for their TITLE TRACKS.**
On the other hand, their B-SIDES hold a *HUGE* variety of genres and experimental fusion creativity. It's like a different world of Dreamcatcher. Ballads, EDM, jazz, funk, reggae, hard metal/rock, just to name some. Their B-side tracks is where they showcase their versatility which seems infinite, as they continue to surprise us everytime they comeback with new songs. Again, Concept Queens.
Even the idols themselves show their creativity by taking part and getting credited for the composing, writing, choreographies of some of the songs too. They have also done numerous covers, adding their own twist to the songs, making it their own. And recently, all 7 of them have written, composed and produced their own solo songs.
They have some of my favorite songs in kpop, not a single one has missed for me so far and that's saying something cause I'm picky as hell. My personal favorite is "What" with its string orchestra and industrial rock sound and "BEcause" because of how it blends pop and rock and uses the cute side of pop in tandem with some really great hitchockian horror elements like the distortion and psycho strings. I actually highly recommend checking out their utopia concert rearranged version of "scream". It's acoustic but somehow still pretty demonic (then again I'm pretty sure their main vocalist and main rapper get possessed while performing anyway/jk).
Plus the crossroads, utopia and dystopia concert have all 7 members sing and perform songs from the first 2 dystopia albums (Handong was absent from those two albums because of covid leaving her stuck in China). They actually have a masked dancer take her place in scream and when she came back and wrapped up the trilogy with Odd Eye they had her "remove the mask" from her face in a special dance video of the last song (Odd Eye dance video Dystopia version) to signify that she's back.
I really recomend BEcause, it was BECAUSE of that song that I started stanning dreamcatcher, they're so refreshing concept wise and I love their evil vibes. Good video!

Thank you for your reaction, if you want to react to their other songs, Deja vu, Endless night, BEcause are really nice. Some of the title tracks have their own era/storyline that connect with one and the others but the three songs that I suggested do not have relation with other songs.

Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye are the Dystopia Trilogy. Dreamcatcher always has storylines. Maison is the first of the new Apocalypse story. Their debut Chase Me to Piri was the Nightmare Story.
They also have standalone stories like Deja Vu and Rose Blue which are game collabs, and BEcause which is inspired by the American horror film Us by Jordan Peele.
The Dystopia series takes place in the past (Scream: witch hunt), present (Boca: anonymous online hate), and future (Odd Eye, a fake utopia where people pretend to be nice). They also correspond to hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil. The move that starts Scream is the same dance move that ends Odd Eye.
Each title track combines some sort of rock with kpop to create a new fusion. Their japanese tracks usually lean heavier into metal. Like Endless Night, No More, and Don't Light My Fire.
As for b-sides, they have a wide variety of genres ranging from ballads, pop, edm, funk, city pop, rock, etc. On their latest album, each member made their own solo. A few of the members have been regularly producing, writing, and composing music the last few years. Some self made songs I reccomend are New Days, Alldaylong, and Paradise.
I reccomend watching their Dystopia and Utopia concerts. Its a two day online concert that you can watch on youtube from 2021. Its so much fun and you get to see the songs with a live band. You can't react because MyMusicTaste strikes it down but its worth watching!

DC is one of those under the radar groups, from a small company, that has produced songs for video games, Japanese anime and Kdrama OSTs, and did a world tour. It's pretty hard to put them in a genre because their sound alone is their genre. All 7 members have different vocal registers, yet all blend in so flawlessly. Great reaction and plenty of insight I haven't heard from a producer reacting to Dreamcatcher on TH-cam. And not watching the MVs for Dystopia series in order is not a huge deal since you reacted to them all in one sitting.
What you've thought is 'lowered detuned voice' in rap part of Scream MV actually their producer (Leez) own male voice. The producer sing along as 2nd backing vocal & rap in Scream. Probably to create that 'Demonic' effect in the song.

brooo You gotta react to LOONA please 😭😭😭😭 they have a LOT of songs (sub-units, solos, etc) but to start I would recommend: PTT (paint the town), Butterfly, Hi High and maybe Heart Attack as an introduction to the solos??
If you want to check out another great Kpop group, I'd highly recommend Loona. Not only do they make great music and are an extremely talented group, but they are the perfect source for content creation because they have SO MUCH stuff to react to. Not only do they have 5 main title tracks with albums each, but they are also unique in that the 12 members debuted one by one as solo artists, and also formed subunits, so people always have a great time reacting in order and it is such a journey to go on. HIGHLY recommend the orbit journey!
