The reason why enemies "randomly" had multiple turns is because you had advantage on them. Advantage ensures that your whole party moves before the enemy does. Once the first turn is over however, the game then rolls the turn order back to based on agility. What is happening is that the enemy moves last on first turn due to advantage and then moves first on the second turn because it outpaces you. The reason it happend less as the game progressed is because you start outpacing the enemies more and more
Yep. Advantage is actually a double edged sword in Persona games. If you're not confident you can finish all the enemies off in one turn it's probably a better idea to do a normal strike on them.
I certainly don't feel as strongly against the changes Reload made, but I can totally see where you're coming from and your arguments make sense. Great video!
The issue is that, when remaking a game you expect them to fix the flaws, improved or do tons of creative liberties,. Like idk? How capcom does it? Or other video game remakes do, this is just a directly port of the original game repackaged to you in Persona 5 art style. Instead of a resident evil 2 remake, we got a GTA definitive edition.
this is a shit take for ppl who never played persona 3 and had no idea what they were buying and expecting better for such a steep price for such a lacking dlc
the two main issues i have is the price and pacing the price is way better on gamepass, 20 a month for the base game and the expansion pass fixes that issue the pacing in base p3 is cut up with fighting and socializing, this is just fighting which gets monotonous very quickly the rest, in my opinion, was fantastic, even with the changes
I think persona 6 is not far off now, and having remade 3 FEZ, ported 4 GOLDEN and released 5 Royal, i think gave them a lot of information about what the audience likes, dislikes, what they do well, and what they need to improve at, so, can't wait for it.

The OP said it was apart of the original release not me. That also makes my point tho the DLC for this game is like what $40? When they could've included "The Answer" from the jump. Good thing I have it on Gamepass because I get to play P3R with The Answer for free. I would not pay an additional $40 for something that should've came with the game. But that's just my opinion
The only point I kind of disagree on is the difficulty. It could've just been my party setup or just unluckiness, but I had a lot of deaths during The Answer compared to almost, if not none I can remember during the base game. I only played on hard, so I had access to the base game compendium, but I had used it liberally since it felt unfair for the most part. Being hit with weaknesses so much, having little access to items and getting awful luck with the Monad door's attached bonuses made encounters really difficult for me. If it wasn't Yukari dying, it was Aigis dying. I had an encounter where everyone got confused and I couldn't do anything until it was too late. On top of the evade skills shadows got typically screwing me over, it felt like an appropriate balance, but I'm not a super huge min-maxer either, to be fair. The whole pinnacle of it was definitely Ken and Akihiko for me though. I had to rethink my gear to stand a good chance against those two, but the rest of the SEES gauntlet felt very appropriately tuned, outside of random Megidolaons (seriously WHERE did Akihiko and Yukari pull that from?). I can understand most of the other points, but what I do 100% agree with for Episode Aigis is, while I never played the original, the story conflict definitely felt very toned-down, and it was probably because of how many people tended to hate Yukari from her attitude in the original FES, which I was expecting, but it all felt more passive-aggressive, instead of at each other's throats. Junpei's VA definitely sold his frustration to me, but I don't remember if he even brought up the point about Chidori. Either way, it definitely would've felt much better if the direction of the voice actors was towards angst, instead of more like "we need to settle this." I don't even think you need to change the lines much, you just need to make it visibly and audibly clear that SEES is very divided for that moment. Very clear and concise video. The fanbase definitely needs to learn to chill out and be more neutral instead of pointing fingers. It only helps everyone involved
I'm guessing he didn't bring up Chidori because you can save Chidori in Reload. If you do Junpei's Linked Episode and buy the flowers he wanted to give to Chidori, this somehow makes it so that she doesn't die, just ends up back in the hospital or something and doesn't remember anything from the past few years I believe. This change was first introduced back in Portable and I'd say it was a stupid change back then, but it's even worse here because of her death's impact on Junpei's motivations during Episode Aigis.
Ngl I think it also negatively impacts his second theurgy. The whole point of his Persona evolution is that he has a part of Chidori with him. I get to some people that amnesia can count as someone technically being "gone" from your life, but you can still tell them what had happened, and they're still alive. I was told about the flower thing from a friend and chose not to do it. It makes less sense to save her, especially with the game's theming.
@@jazzerjaw Oh yeah, the second theurgy and second Persona awakening really undermine the whole thing. What's worse is that, from what I've read shortly after my comment, the option to save Chidori was included in FES as well. So I don't know why the original Episode Aigis mentioned her death and Reload doesn't, it just doesn't make sense. I chose not to save her as well, I like her a lot but her death is necessary for the narrative in my eyes.

I stumbled upon this video thanks to the algorithm and I went back to watch your video about remakes, specifically the part where you discussed Reload. I myself am a big FES fan and I was initially excited for the remake. After playing the base game I came to many of the same conclusions you did. The combat was toned down to be mind numbingly easy, the game balance is completely skewed towards physical to the point where using magic at all is detrimental, there are so many item drops that you never need to take a healer, the presentation was dumbed down, characterization was changed to either make the characters more likeable (and therefore marketable) or to have them act more in accordance to how they are portrayed in later spinoffs like P4A. The voice acted social links are about the only improvement I can think of. I thought that Reload took a story that I loved and told it is a much less interesting way. I had my gripes and I would still recommend FES to anyone who wants the real P3 experience, but I was just happy that P3 was getting attention again. I was (foolishly) hoping that Episode Aigis might be an improvement on the base game. Episode Aigis' release has soured my opinion on Reload as a whole. As soon as I saw the new opening for EA, and how generic and melodramatic it was, I knew I was in for trouble. As you pointed out, the gameplay balancing is still completely broken, the story changes ruin a lot of intense character moments and kill all drama in the concluding act, the cutscenes are so much worse than the FES versions that it is shocking. The changes to Yukari in particular are what pissed me off the most. It gives the impression that they made this for babies that can't handle anything unpleasant in their stories. It really is amazing how all the new content they added to The Answer, like the hangouts or the fact that you can go gardening in the mall, just serves to create a huge sense of tonal dissonance. Episode Aigis illustrates the overall problem with Reload, they just made a version of P3 that retains none of the qualities that made it special and instead more a version that is more palatable for the Persona 5 audience. It has helped me realize that what I really wanted this whole time was just FES HD to be released on modern platform (especially PC). It just sucks that on modern platforms we are stuck with two different versions of P3, Reload and Portable, that both fail to capture the appeal of FES.
I was frustrated with reload because Atlas cut out a lot of content from portable including the female protagonist and I also believe they cut out content from other persona 3 games and charged almost $80 for it if not more depending on where you're from. What really frustrated me the most about the remake is itself and the fact that they built it from the ground up instead of using assets from both portable and fes to make an actual remaster. Also proc gen dungeon design if its in base p3r or p3r dlc is still lazy.... the thergy events are non voice acted (again more lazyness) and If Aigis gets the missing Persona for one of her Theurgy Fusion Spells from Shuffle Time, she won’t gain the spell until she visits the attendant. thats whats cringe, not the dialogue.... theurgies where added to reload to completly and i mean completly nullify any boss by stacking all theurgy and just letting it rip. i played the DLC and didnt like it, voicing this is totally normal.
persona fans on their way to bitch about the smallest things 😁
p3r fans on their way to harass TH-camrs when they criticize their precious remake

Persona 3 Fans on their way Bitch and whine about everything instead of just playing a different game
The answer made me hate yukari even more
i think everything you think about reload is kinda just opinionated ngl besides the ai being kinda bad and such
No kidding! It's their video in which they state their own opinions! Even the video title is written in first person.
i wasted 35 euros for this shit tell me about it never again fu atlus
The original creators of P3 were not part of this remake, thats what happened
Conclusion: Wait for a price drop and pick up and play for yourself stop listening to Persona Fans Y'all don't like your own games
Or get an Xbox and get game pass that way its essentially free

12:34 I'd argue P5R is about 100x worse at this, so its improving atleast
The makoto gore need to go tho, the seen could have still been better with the Skelton shit
Why? Its a Rated M game. I swear this generation is way too sensitive.
