Sorry but you can't like Unleashed if you're from Adventure, the gameplay is such a downgrade.

The thing about "the series losing its way" after this game... is at the time, people said that _about this game_ . _Unleashed_ was and arguably still is considered a joke - as in, "WTF is this??" Just shows it's all about what you personally grew up with.

This video is beautiful. To exist is to suffer, but to live is to give meaning to your suffering. The moments we laugh with friends and family, the love we share someone special, or even just a warm sunrise on another day--these are the things worth living for.

Sonic unleashed was the peak of sonic. The visuals are the best they have ever looked. The Cutscenes were insane even now. The story was great. The levels and gameplay were at their peak. It’s a shame we will never get anything like this again.

Love the video. Obviously Ocarina of Time is goated for being the original, but Majora's Mask took that game and took it to the next level in terms of new items and mechanics. Also, the aesthetic/vibe of the game being kinda scary and odd in such a good way. It's like horror, regret, fear, etc. I love the music and the entire concept of the game. I played OoT at my cousins house and we beat it together and Majora's Mask was my most hyped gamed of my young child years. I remember buying the strategy guide and everything.

I was a little pissed whenever they annouced the sonic colors remake because i honestly think unleashed deserved it more.

Dang I remember getting this game in 2000 when I was 5 for Christmas from my grandma and being so excited having already beat ocarina my first Zelda.

replaying MM for the first time in a long time and it is still a fantastic game this video sums up a lot of what the game does really well with the writing and themes of the game. good video!

people can't like the story, but nobody can0t say that on a gameplay and technical level it isn't one of the best game of the serie (if not the best)

I think you should use less poetry/romance in your description, and focus more on the objectively good stuff this game has. Good vid tho. You can tell you love this game :)

*To further BotW's sheer superiority, I will say this:* TotK's story is bad, Fs with pre-established key lore aspects, absolutely shatters all the Master Sword's reputation, unga bunga buff Dorf with little to no ambition other than "me strongest there is" uninteresting, nearly everyone forgot who you were despite this game taking place a mere 4-6 years after Wild, Rauru existing is an insult, no Fi, no breaking of the Demise curse despite it being falsely hinted being the case what with all the Skyward Sword PR this game got (I distinctly remember Skyward Sword being advertised as heavily linked to TotK somehow which, again, is misleading as on Nintendo's part), no dog petting, no hookshot spiderman swinging with the physics being suuuuch a driving factor in these newer Zelda games, no underwater exploration instead a damp dark smelly overgrown cave can't see jack, COLLOSAL missed opportunity to hitch the princess with her handsome knight in shining armor, no stakes since Zelda's sacrifice was reversed giving the story little to no agency or consequence, Link as a protagonist felt nonexistent feels like everyone else was the star of the show not the guy who's saving all their 🫏s, no Link backstory before any of this went down aka no Arryl 2 or Granny 2 aka NOT WIND WAKER, didn't make me cry like Twilight Princess, dungeons are STILL NOT dungeons (pulling a couple levers to open a door and then be treated with literally the same copy-paste cutscene at the very end with each champion? Yeah naw), sky islands hardly anything worth noting although they are pretty asf to look at, I was expecting a totally NEW revamped endgame super Saiyan master sword golden tier 4 legendary new hilt new everything but naw same design with a booboo scar and hilariously less powerful... hoverbike autobuild pales in comparison to THE Master Cycle As a game, sure, it's leagues above BotW but BotW will never be topped as a one-in-a-lifetime *experience* TotK was an overblown $70 DLC and I'm tired of pretending it's not. Mid.

Such an awesome video and I agree with all your points. Botw/totk, don’t make me want to replay them which I can’t say for the other games. Temples/dungeons are such an integral thing to the franchise and the new games just don’t have that. I don’t like the memory mechanic of the story in both games. Linearity is not a bad thing its what gives the other games their epic narratives and Nintendo seems to hate linearity. With that said even though the story in TotK was convoluted I loved the ending sequence but I hope they bring back traditional Zelda.

SEGA still cares about Sonic it's thanks to the fans that we lost alot of stuff like how Sonic was the only playable character that was because the fans demanded Sonic was only playable only until Forces did they change there minds The main reason why SEGA was stuck was because fans kept reminding them of Sonic 06 would NOT let SEGA move on from 06 With that we got the worse Sonic game that got alot of love from fans Colors it's thanks to Generations that it wasn't ruined for me I really hate Colors so much alot of fans are probably gonna reply screaming at me with they're opinion thinking they can change mine when they won't

I definitely wouldn’t consider the 3D All Stars version of 64 to be definitively worse than the original because it’s the Shindou version. I personally think that it’s really cool that that version got a rerelease, and while it would’ve been better to be able to pick which version you want to play, I’ve always found it quite ridiculous that people thought Nintendo was doing a bad thing by using a less buggy version of the game. I doubt most speedrunners would be playing this version anyway, so why is it such a big deal? Game developers are allowed to patch bugs, and it shouldn’t be controversial.

Bingo. “The whole game” as a singular puzzle is a perfect take- one that sets it apart from most games. It takes a lot of nuance to do games with a time/temporal facet to them. MM nailed this, while simultaneously replicating the great gameplay of OoT.

Stages should not be a linear path. They should be exactly what the name says: a path, but that will branch out to different routes, to allow for secrets and replayability.

The rush style gameplay isn't about branching pathways, thats for classic sonic stages/games. Rush/adventure style is about doing the perfect button input at exactly the right times and getting those small shortcuts to shave seconds off your score.

Sonic unleashed is my favorite sonic game it is the last time Sega cared about our little blue friend. The story is magical the gameplay even tho it's clearly a god of war ripoff I still enjoy everything about the night stages and the day staves are just the best in any sonic game and the OTS is the greatest I've seen since sa2 I'm not even kidding. And the messages in this game still are with me to this very day it's why I'm still a die hard sonic fan today. This game is special to me and nothing will beat it in my opinion! This game keeps me going in life 💙

I feel this game is far more appreciated by Gen Zs who played it as little kids. 90s kids did not receive this game as well at the time. The Sonic level designs required clairvoyance at times, the werehog stages were a slog, and collecting shit to reach the next stage was tedious. Generations perfected this formula, and then Forces took a dog shit on it.

I've played Unleashed for the first time like 2 days ago and the thing that pisses me off in the newer games is that the levels are not new - Generations was a homage so it's ok, Frontiers reuses the same levels but with cyberspace, but one game in particular messed it up - Forces, the reuse of Chemical Plant was just insane and there was too much of it. Meanwhile, Unleashed had some great levels, tackling different geological places, and it paid off. Granted, Frontiers gives you different open world islands, so I won't be too harsh, but it seems like this is really missing in the newer games - just cool, beautiful levels to speed through.
