these audience harmonies he does, is a recruitment to his cult
that is what special about Jacob
Then I'm happy to be part of it 😂
lol
He knows the trick, get him lads!
Aaaaaaahhh! (B flat!)
Congrats. That's the stupidest comment I've read so far this year. Well done. Jacob Collier is the most unusual of talents and since we'd all like to learn from the best, it's a wonderful thing that he's willing to share. There's no cult. Unless you mean a cult of music. If there's one thing anyone who listens to Jacob knows, it's that he credits many many many great musicians who came before him for everything he knows. If you pay attention to what he plays and speaks of, then you'll discover a lot of music that isn't Jacob Collier. People who love music are grateful for his willingness to be so unselfish with his knowledge.
Wich instrument do you play?
Humans.
This sounds oddly psychopathic
"witch" might have fit better...
*Voice ensemble
Plot twist: He recorded the audience for his next album, they just sang all the vocal parts
THAT WOULD BE INCREDIBLE
he's actually done that for All Night Long and With The Love In My Heart-
He’s doing that for his upcoming album
I got news for u lmao
Listen to his newest upload. Got 31 different concert audiences to sing one word that he recorded. Wont spoilt. 100,000 voices!!
Why does he look like a musical Jesus??
William Reiner it’s the poncho, it’s always the magical poncho.
William Reiner because he is
@@jacksonsmith9795 Yup!
His initials are JC
@@JJBerthume epic man
He dresses himself just like a wizard
André Arranja more like a Mexican
He is a wizard
You can do that when you are one
Jacob’s favourite instrument: The Audience
That's John Cage
This guy is my worst nightmare. A music-speaking alien. He's too talented.
We feel the same about prodigies
Why do you say that..why don't you think you are as talented as he is? I could never admit I'm not as talented as he
Imagine at the end he says “and that concludes my TED talk”
They have a TED Talk and it's pretty much this 😅
That would be cool with me. ha ha!
I know his secret! That cloak gives him + 8 Wisdom
_You could make a religion out of this._
I am thinking of my own new christologyscinosis!!😁😁😁😁😁
bill wurtz
So u come from history of the world
I will never forget about that joke
Unlike you, who forgot all about his comment!
I can see profits out of this
Shout out to Bobby McFerrin who made this possible.
Amen!
also Freddy Mercury
So, a young laddie dressed in a travel rug walks onstage says nothing but ooh for nearly five minutes then gives everyone the clap. He then prompts his followers to do as he does then proceeds to mess with their mind!
Excellent! That could only work in music!
I was bamboozled, i came for a masterclass but it was just 9 mins of jacob having fun with a crowd
I love it. This is basically the most perfect grade 1-4 general music class ever. “Jacob, you’re hired. HR will contact you with paperwork.”
wow! He premiered Dun Dun Ba Ba in January!
This brings the phrase "you just got played" to a different level
Is this like a religion? Cuz it feels like a church
Call and response was a big thing in early American gospel music because not everybody in the church could read. That's why this demonstration has a religious touch to us.
And the symbol of our faith, is the circle of fifths. Hahahah, of course of course
Plus, the priest is wearing a weird gown. 😅
@@G3Dem you beat me to it about call and response. The rest I didn't know. Thank you for that.
Not only that but Jacob is very much inspired by gospel music
4:04 Ron Jeremy is entranced
That's priceless my friend, love it.
Tryna "extend" his musical knowledge
1:00 those chords are more beautiful than anything i've ever written wtf
Diatonic triad and seventh chords moving sequentially up through a scale of the note the audience is singing as it's root, ending on what sounds like a quartal voicing. Sounds like he inverted the chords to get to the next chords with as little movement as possible. Pretty skillful playing but you can learn how to do it.
doodle around on major diatonic chords and you'll eventually find some cool voicings, can't go wrong
@@Chris-cf2kp Can you elaborate on those chords more??? Thank you so much!
@@kellyyang4007 well, I could analyze them but what you should do is work them out yourself to learn and train your ears !
@@kellyyang4007 Any luck on your transcribing? Try out G-D in the bass below the chord D-E-F#-A and then Eb-Bb in the bass below the chord D-Eb-G-A.
Freddy Mercury looking down from gay heaven: oh I like this, darling!
Gay heaven hahahahha
@@661ufos wow, so you knew him well?
Wow that was possibly the most profound thing i have ever heard anybody say. “To make good music; we have to live good lives.. or at least live lives.” Jacob Collier, whom/wherever you are.. You have my respect good sir.
Oh man, having this on youtube is a privilege.
It is awesome that for him there are not wrong notes at all, it must be pretty fun to sing with him.
Do you know if someone uploaded the rest of his presentation?
it's in the link in the description
however, to watch the full thing you must sign up which costs (at least) $35 a month
Nafis Delacruz fuck that, anyone already subbed to that thing willing to upload it somewhere?
@@GrumpyStormtrooper yea let's go
I'm very glad that Jacob Collier doesn't use his powers for evil...
Bobby McFerrin: Am I a joke to you?
Very good
Don't worry.. Be happy
4:05 Ron Jeremy's learning some music these days.
The funny thing is, i just realized i'd accept this as a live concert i'd pay for! :D
Hold on where is the second part for this? This is just the introduction, he doesn't actually talk about harmony in this video.
this is a youtube video for a paid site. if i got it right, they have a bunch of master classes/lessons on their site to watch. looks great but too pricey for me (35$ a month)
yea debora can you pay it
these people in the master class begun out of tune a little bit and out of touch with the music, and Jacob totally conducted them and groomed them from right under their feet! They had no idea they would be so beautiful.
It would be lovely to watch the rest and hear what he has to say ! :) Thanks a lot for sharing.
Thank you for your comment :)

3:30 Neat factoid for anyone interested, brass players use what they are doing as a tuning exercise, to get us on our pitch centers and to get us listening and blending, works very well.
cool! thanks!
3:00 jacob collier attending a jacob collier masterclass
Lol
This shit's trippy
I cant explain, how cool is this. He brings an audience into the world he sees, Its a collaboration between musicians and its so beautiful.
this is so beautiful
Made me cry in joy at the first minute
At 6:55 he made them sing G and B, which are also the letters for Great Britain.
Next part !!
Holy Jesus that guy is a genius! He is even teaching himself 2:59
Nailed the pitch perfectly at 1:00. Damn.
He has probably a more developed sense of pitch than 99.9 percent of all musicians ever.
When they said ouhhh
I felt that
3:09 When you want to summon a cobra but forgot your flute.
Why am I sitting here in my car doing this? Amazing!
The harmonies around 2:30 - 3:00 sounded like a Midsommar soundtrack!
Alternative title: Jacob plays the crowd and manages to make grown men sing somewhat in tune before explaining the connection between life and music
Loved that, wonderful.
Remembering just....fun.
0:46 Sounds like a football stadium at a Liverpool and Manchester United match 😂
i did not expect this to happen but im here for it
I don’t invest much in stage skills, because I don’t believe I would enjoy it. I don’t think I would connect with the audience and get energy. So it just feels like a hassle.
Achieving a policy change is much more interesting to me. Building something that makes people’s live better and seeing people use it, much better. Getting people to honestly discover something amazing about themselves and smile, in 1:1 or 1:small group settings, that sounds like a joy to me.
I also believe that making content for big audience is necessary for impact, but shouldn’t TH-cam videos, blogs, books, games etc be enough? Maybe 1:1 interviews would be a hack to get me interested in stages. But I doubt I will ever like it or have it feel like a reward.
People with notepads only got ooooooohh and clap written down
Dang! Stopped too soon! He's as much a Great Spirit as he is a great musician.
Give it up for Ron Jeremy in the audience at 4.04 :D
He reminds of Freddie Mercury❤️
Rip freddie
i'm so in love with this man
He must have watched Jesus is King..
Beautiful...
Did He slap the fly? 🪰
As what I thought Freddie Mercury is in Jacob's soul, which able to make audience his instrument.
What every musician wants from their crowd :')
Awesome Jacob. You keep being a genuis and don't let any of the haters in the comments tell you otherwise.
ok but i want that curtain hoodie
Okie dokie
@4:06...Is that Ron Jeremy?
he reminds me of my year 4 choir teacher
Brilliant.
He's doing a total freddie mercury here
I have no words for this...stunning
Blessed be the omnipotent circle of fifth !
Professor's on the left crying into their lack by being sidelined by genius.
Genie
This "masterclass" stops after the prelude of this "masterclass".
2:59 I found Jacob's double, that he uses for his harmony videos
how’s this a masterclass
This is a preview to a 90-minute masterclass.
It's just the "ice breaker"
wow thats how to captivate an audience
the only person alive i want to have sit down and talk with
Opens with kinda Freddie Mercury Wembly Stadium thing… different vibe though
3:50 that sounds diabolical!!!
this was the funniest video i ever saw/interected on youtube omg
I didn’t know Ron Jeremy was interested in Harmony and Rhythm. 4:04
Jacob: "I just did somethings with my hands... And my mouth"
FBI: "What kind of cult is this?!"
I love jacob collier but this is the whitest thing i've seen since a bar that only had mason jars as glasses in Eugene, Or
Freddy Mercury Flashbacks
wow, there's an additional jocob collier in the audience, what a pleasant surprise: 3:00
The Religion of Fifths. No, but Jacob Collier is pretty awesome.
dude is wearing a rug.
4:05 he even got Ron Jeremy to join in on the left.
so amazing perfomance
from indonesian
Admit 1...a damn music degree
His ears are way beyond the constraints of those who talk shit. Learn or don't.
Jacob Collier’s doppelgänger is at the 3:00 mark!!!
I hope this is the only video that remains to describe our culture in the 2020s
i know it would be a waste anyway, but this guy was made to play CCM. sorry :/
4:39: Jacob collier, Rob Scallon, and Martin Freeman
What I got out of this: 4:08
Is that fuckin Ron Jeremy!?!?
Bobby McFerrin would be proud
very nice intro but.. where´s the rest when he talks about rhytm and harmony??
you are not ready jet
Hold up wtf how is he in his own audience at 4:40?
Where can I find it complete?
