If you listen to music without the access to the score, you shouldn't really hear a difference. Or, should you? Since a musician playing the music reads the score, so he interprets the notes somehow, possibly a different emotion. Would this make a difference? What I'm suggesting maybe is a research where we give 10 musicians an original piece of music written in G sharp and 10 musicians the same piece written in A flat. Then we ask the audience how they perceive the music. Hope I expressed myself clearly enough, English is my 3rd language ;)
