  • When being asked to review existing UX copy, UX Writers are often required to do a proper UX copy audit. But how do we do that in a structured, systematic way that is also easy to follow for others? Fasten your seatbelts, my dear fellow UX Writers (and UX Writing enthusiasts), because in this video, we will do exactly that!

Thanks for your comment! I'm actually working on a "UX Writing for Copywriters" video, but it's still in the making! If there is anything else you'd like me to cover, feel free to let me know! All the best on your journey ❤️

Hi Dr. Kat would you think one would need a degree for ux writing? No degree here but love the profession. Would a good portfolio of writing and design speak for itself.

Professional CW here. You don't need a degree - All that you need is the hustle. University, Design & Portfolio School help - mainly by helping you develop into a career and by providing internship opportunities as well as work to demonstrate your expertise.
However, if you want to start. Keep watching vids like this. Sell yourself to small businesses & grow from there.
I made a career in advertising and it started by working for free at an agency for six months. They eventually hired me when someone quit. That being said, they hired me because I worked my ass off and tried to be as helpful and respectful as I could to everyone around me.
You don't need permission. Go get it.

Hi Tyler, sorry for replying so late, I'm so behind on my comment sections 💀 I have to slightly disagree with @gr.wo7oh. It really depends on what kind of company you want to work in. Startup or agency? No problem - no degree needed. Corporate or tech industry? A whole different story. For corporates (think of tech giants like Amazon, Google, etc., but also about local corporates, like in Germany, it would be Siemens, Volkswagen, BMW, etc.), certificates and degrees play a MAJOR role. If you want to stand out among applicants, you need to have them. With that being said, it doesn't really matter what kind of degree you have, they just want to see whether or not you are an ambitious performer who can pursue a long-term goal.
