Thank you so much for making this, Sharon! I would love to see more of how you gathered so many insights on building the portfolios and how you taught yourself to be a better designer every day. Essentially how you structure yourself so well and what are your sources and inspiration.

Hi. Sharon, I just would like to shout out as an also career shift person who is struggling to get a job in UX field in the new country with no experience. Although I have design background, it is still hard for me. But your content is very informative and, more than that, inspiring. You know exactly what the users(like me) would love to hear, and you did it in a very structured way with considerate details. Thank you for your contents. They motivate to go back and redesign my case study and portfolio after a very long procrastination. Keep going.
Hi Sharon! I used the structure of your ONNIT case study and these tips to apply to my case studies and received positive feedback from mentors and peers so far. It helped so much to story tell rather than just regurgitate the process end to end.
This is the best video talking on this subject that I've seen. I've spent SO long dabbling in different videos, trying to get my head wrapped around this in a way that made it simplified. You've made it easy, straightforward, given me permission to just braindump my thoughts initially without much structure and THEN work through and organize it (I don't know why I beat myself up for being unorganized at first). It no longer feels so overwhelming and stressful. Thank you SO much for breaking it down like this, and also keeping it below 30 minutes!
Thanks Sharon for sharing. Such a helpful and informative video🙏. Need more videos about how is your design process going on while working on a project.

Thank you so much for sharing all this great information. I'm transitioning from IT recruitment to Product design and this has been one of the most helpful videos for me.
I agree with the personas versus use cases. I've also worked with teams that forget about these artifacts once created. It can be frustrating when teams neglect to revisit the personas created, resulting in wasted time, money, and resources. And of course, teams differ in their preferred approaches. The primary goal should be to create deliverables that facilitate understanding and empathy towards users. Without reference, the exercise becomes pointless. The focus should be on maximizing user satisfaction and delivering valuable solutions. I always say...team dynamics also play a SIGNIFICANT role in achieving these objectives.
Thanks so much for uploading your videos! As a new designer (with an extensive background in the arts) I find your videos easy to follow and full of useful information! Thank you ! :)

I've always thought that it wasn't very practical when I look at portfolios and case studies on Dribble. Good example of looks pretty but not super practical.
Hi Sharon. I just wanted to say your videos for your transition into UX Design has honestly inspired me a ton. I noticed that your portfolio and your Figma files are now blocked and require a password to access-- can I ask if you'll ever make them public again? they were so helpful with my journey as a ux designer and i referenced them often; it would be amazing if they could be accessible again
Hi! Yes- it’s because (although I understand) there have been many cases of plagiarism and intellectual theft for their job applications & class projects in university so I had to take it down to maintain & protect my work to ward off unethical behavior. It’s been my current project for the past month or so. Planning to relaunch in early 2024. Thanks for your patience.
The 📍 RAW ONNIT FIGMA PROJECT FILE is asking for a password? I'd really love to see the case study artifacts you made in Figma. I'm really struggling to design my own case study right now.
As a current Springboard student, I'm curious if you slimmed down your case studies to how they are currently displayed on your portfolio website. I found the single-scroll method makes them too slim to pass with flying colors for the Hiring Manager Review. Thanks, Sharon!
Thank you so much Sharon for your video! Now I,m thinking of creating a new case study for my portfolio, but I don,t know what type of website redesign, do you think is necessary to know in deep a website before doing a case study? I see some examples in Cofolios and some of them work inside the company and know the process inside the company. Thanks
Hey Sharon, really insightful video about UX case study structure, I tried to connect on LinkedIn but there was no option for me to send a note...Went to your portfolio site and noticed 2 things: 1. When I click on the thumbnail of that case study, it refreshed the current page instead of going to that case study page (might be a small bug I assume); 2. Design infographic in Figma and improve the readability is great, but with all the text in a image, will it decrease the chance that content being searched on the internet as all the text is embedded in the image? Thanks for the great content!
Hey Sharon, I’m super impressed with your videos, you’ve done a great job. I would like to be more clarified on using square space paid version. When you subscribe for monthly paid version on square space, do you need to keep paying on a monthly basis to continue using your website?
Hey! Yes I believe that is correct, you’ll get a warning if payment stops and maybe an extended month but beyond that I don’t think you can continue using your website
Sharon, could you tell me, how did you add a video prototype to the portfolio case study? How did you make your prototype be so interactive? Very grateful in advance !
Hello and thanks for the insightful video! I noticed on the home page of your website that whenever you click on your project image for ONNIT it just redirects back to your home page. Every other project image links to their respective case study page except for that specific one.
Thank you for sharing the details, Sharon. This is very helpful. My images for the hero section/cover images look pixelated in Squarespace. Do you have any tips for producing high-quality cover images?

Hey Sharon! Thanks for all these educational videos they are very helpful! I have one question - what do you think about doing internships after senior year in UX design? Thanks in advance!
No prob :) and whatever you can get, is good experience!! Might be a bit harder to get an internship after senior year, but definitely still worth trying. I’d consider UX grad school if you want an internship so being a student would qualify you for them. Usually you still have to be a student to have an internship

Great video ,its really helpful👍
thank you so much, Sharon! this helps a lot! can you please provide the link for the Figma file, I could not find it in the description as mentioned in the video?
Hey! Oops sorry about that. Here’s the link but if not I also added it in the description www.figma.com/file/oCvKrMhjpkibUdkS4bz88f/20201101_UX-ONNIT-PROJECT?node-id=183%3A0
@@sharonyeunkimthank you so much! Super super helpful thank you! Please could you link the Figma file you made for this case study? I'm terrible at knowing sizing of different text/images!
It’s in the description box!
Thank you so much for this Sharon! You have so many helpful tips! And you are so transparent! I am going back and making small improvements to my portfolio website. How do you add your app prototype videos to Squarespace? I have been on TH-cam searching for days and can't figure it out. I have screen recordings of my prototypes but I am stuck! :/
I’m trying to figure it out myself too :(
Could you share an app or a program that you used to video record prototypes ?
@@consciousnessexplorer3549 This video saved me th-cam.com/video/MvZiPYUlH1c/w-d-xo.html I screen recorded through Quick Time Player on my Mac and then used this code in the above link to add an auto play version to my website! 👏🏾
Just saw this video. Loved the information! I tried going to your figma link and it is locked. Any way I could still get access to this?
Hello yes! Working on it as there have been some issues. Hoping to release it again soon.
Hi Sharon, When making your case study slide deck for Onnit, did you design each presentation slide in Figma, then save as an image/ other format and place them in Google slides? I'm trying to find the most efficient route where I can design a beautiful case study and have it in slide form but also easily adapt it to my portfolio website. Thank you!
All your videos are gold. I really appreciate them x
Hi Sharon! I just want to say I love love love your videos. Im currently in the middle of bootcamp. I feel confused and frustrated sometimes. Your videos are definitely big helps. I noticed the head image you used in HOMES FIRST case study has a gif effect, how did you create it? Thank you a lot!
it was very insightful, thanks)
@sharonyeunkim Amazing video Sharon. By the way we couldn't view your portfolio. It shows private site.
I’m redoing my portfolio website :) hope to be up by the new year.
Thanks for this❣
How did you make the scroll back to top red? :D
Thank you
My pleasure ❤️
Really enjoy your content, but can you please clarify that how did you get the users for your user interviews. Because as someone who's learning it by themselves finding the right people who fit in the user group and are willing to help is difficult.
If it’s not friends or family, you most likely would need a financial incentive so in that case, post on LinkedIn and offer compensation.
