i think getting the diva cup has revolutionized my relationship with my period. i am so much less uncomfortable through the week and that has just made a world of difference.
that's my goal to be able to use them but unfortunately for now I'm not completely comfortable about my body and penetration of any kind makes me so squeamish...
I have to say this was the best one of have seen yet. Maybe it's because it resonates with me at the current moment 😉 or maybe it's because you touched a little on female passion. Don't know, but pls keep it up. You are a breath of fresh air.
I love that you talk about the periods! So many woman see them as a horrible thing and even try to skip them with the pill every now and then..:( I don't love my period yet..but I am starting to accept it:)
I love my group of friends at school because we talk about periods all the time! When im on my period i tell it to my friends and knowing our cycles makes it so much easier.
1st let me say THANK YOU for your channel! I was on the pill for a little over a year and a half and I gained about 35lbs(never been overweight In my life, my hair was destroyed, my mood, my sex drive,... just about everything was off. I have been off birth control since September 2016 and I've made much progress. I am slowly getting my body back to optimum health. I lost my cycle for the last three months, but with your videos and research, I have gotten it back! I have cut almost 90% meat out of my diet... I already stopped eating beef or pork but now the only meat I have is egg whites with my veggies in the morning or for a snack... I also am trying to stick to a gluten free diet.. just because I want to be as clean as possible... I've increased my hours of sleep, also increased my folic acid, iron, and B vitamin intake and just this Monday my lovely period came back! It's very light but it is definitely a period! I also have switched my OBGYN and plan to take up charting and the other methods you have taught like FAM!:) I wish I had came across your videos BEFORE birth control as I have ALWAYS been against it but I was getting married (back in 2015) and I felt like there was nothing else I could do. I am so blessed to have a mate that has supported me and is interested in learning about my body with me:) thank you again! And if you have any vegan suggestions or recipes please share!!!
When I'm on my period I defiantly act like I'm not; in a strange and almost bizarrely competitive attempt to stand up to men. I've only just realised I thought this way when watching your video. It's like I see it as a weakness that I don't want to admit I have... I'll have to work on that, I think. Love your videos. Hope you're having a great time in Bali!
I've definitely noticed a big difference too. For me this is due to getting more insight into what actually happens and knowing that period problems probably reflect health problems. Also getting a menstrual cup made me excited to get my period (to try it out yay), made periods less of a 'problem' because it makes it possible for me to sometimes completely forget I'm having one and got me more in touch with my body (quite literally haha).
the more "period positive" I get the worse my menstrual symptoms get. have been on this journey since 2011/2012. turns out I have Adenomyosis (something similar to Endometriosis) which makes them this horrible. If I don't want my uterus to get more and more scar tissue every month I have to stop having periods asap. hormonal bc here I come :/ p.s. just because my periods are horrible I'm happy for everyone who can embrace and learn to like them!
I'm sorry for you :(. I'm not an expert in the slightest but is that really the only option they can offer you? Hopefully they can conquer this problem for its core, not just the symptoms!
When I quit hormonal birth control I started having periods that were so heavy I bled through a super plus tampon every 45 minutes. Hard to stop fighting your period when you have to rush to the bathroom every 45 minutes and wake up several times during the night to try not to leak all over your sheets. I tried the cups too and they only bought me a little more time and then started to hurt from removing and reinserting so often. I didn't have the option to take things easy and slow down because it took all my strength just to get through my work day. I tried changing my diet, taking herbs and supplements, doing yoga, acupuncture and chiropractic. I guess my point is its easy to love your period when you have a "normal" period. I don't mean to direct my bitterness toward you, I just have a lot of frustration that those of us who are not normal are given the options of birth control pills forever or surgery.
I love that you mentioned the transgender community in this video. I have never thought about that myself and it was eye opening for me. It makes me appreciate my period even more. There are people who would love have a period or would love to have a regular period. I am fortunate and this video helped me realize that. Thank you :)
Also, it's funny how growing up as females we bonded over complaining about our periods. Complaining about the cramps. Complaining of being bloated. Complaining of the inconvenience of needing a tampon or pad. But now we are all bonding over the complete opposite. Periods bring women together and you are doing that through your channel. I love it!
I do appreciate that you've mentioned trans girls and boys, do not forget about non binary people who menstruate as well :) I just wish people would stop gendering period, really it's just a biological function. A lot a people, including cis women that don't menstruate, would benefit from it if society stopped associating automatically period with womanhood. Also, some trans people might have dysphoria regarding their period so being positive about it can be impossible. :S
I would say she's passionate about informing others on women's health and a big part of that is the menstrual cycle. This is her job, so being addicted to it is ok in this aspect. ;)
Victoria, I love your videos, but this is too much - you work in women's health. WOMEN's health. Do you really think it's possible to be a woman without inhabiting a woman's body?

Camille Voyage it's definitely an adjustment but after you get used to it the benefits are awesome.

Cups and cloth pads are such a game changer for me. Makes it fun even. Also completely comfortable and free of harmful chemicals

i havent had a period in over 3 years (i have been either pregnant or breastfeeding) and i thought i was so weird that i actual miss my cycle!

Really brilliant video - thank you for altering my perspective and struggles with my monthly cycle xo
what kind of degree/study do you have in the period area? I love your channel and learning new things about myself!
This video is great, but could you maybe go over some of the things you did to see your period in more of a positive way (etc). xo
I like it when it goes a bit deeper

This video is so great. If everyone thought this way it would be so cool.

Such an inspiration!
starting to use a menstrual cup is really what made me be 99% ok with my period. So hassle free

Definitely needed this ❤️
Norah's life Norah ! I'm subscribed to you 😃
I love you!
Why are you so addicted in period

Kimberly Alt thanks for answer!
