    You have to admit, tekken character endings are amazing. I love how strange they are, and it really helps the weirdness of some of the character varieties. Not to mention I feel Mishima Industries or whatever the company is called really shouldn't be taken all that serious in the context of the story lol its all just madness.

    • @shawziiz5031
      @shawziiz5031 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Well that just happen in character endings, which most of it is not canonical. Canon plot, oh yea Mishima Zaibatsu is no joke. You had to take that seriously. The characters ending just meant to be goofy that all, especially in Tekken Tag, the non-canon game

    The Control music video actually does make sense. In that part of the story, Jesse has realized that the Oceanview Motel & Casino (where you see the music video) is actually just a part of her dreams, so she can control it. And, that's what her mind makes up. A crazy, whacky music video.
    Jesse even remarks afterwards that "Your mind is weird, Jesse." or something to that effect.
    So yeah, there's context. You just missed it.

    • @dars5229
      @dars5229 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm. I'm not disagreeing, but I don't really get it. Like, we know other people have used the motel before Jesse. Enough for it to be implemented as a part of FBC security. It's not a product of her dreams, I thought, but something the Bureau has discovered and (mostly) figured out how to use. I thought the music video was, considering we see it after finding out Darling has travelled to a "different plane of existence," a hint that wherever he is, he's happy.

    True Crime Streets of L.A surprised me back in the day with the introduction of supernatural elements almost in the end of the story.. you are a Cop in a GTA like game.. and then you are dealing with undead, demons and a dragon! That was great for me at the time becuz It was so unexpected.. I also remember fondly of GTA VC Stories with the zombie mission, I was an early teen and didn't knew english at the time so I believed It was zombies for real.. also the mission with the robot was quite exotic. I could also mention Saints Row 2.. with that "immortal" rasta boss.

      It just... it just came _completely_ out of nowhere! Wasn't that one bad guy also an immortal vampire ghost or something? He calls Nick Kang on his phone near the end of the story, implies he's lived for centuries, and then fades out into nothing... or something like that, I don't remember the details.

    I really think you guys should start doing this series as a weekly thing and give it more thought. The ideas for the top10s are decent but the selection itself starts to seem a bit lacking lately. Amazing how you got it going for so long but it might be time for some change.

    The Control one makes sense because the Overview Motel is considered to be an inter-dimensional location, so in one dimension, Dr. Darling became a music icon in the 80’s.

      it really does! like, while this seems like the end of the world for Nero, this is just another Tuesday for Dante. he's not threatened by anyone there, he's incredibly assured of his inevitable victory, why not indulge this strange little science man's quirks before squashing him like the bug he is? why not have a bit of fun?

    There was that bit in Silent Hill 2 with the radio quiz show in the elevator. It's never explained, and I'm not sure there's any lore reason for it despite James acknowledging it's happening to him. So it's canon unlike the Dog Ending, but just plain weird and unexplained.

    I have to agree on the Tekken endings... there are some that seem like the real ones, where stuff seems to be serious about what is going on afterwards (usually one of Jin, Kazuya and Heichai), then you have the cookiecutters where the whole thing just ends up nicely... and there are the weird ones, the one that springs to my mind is Marshall Law settling all his debts, emerges broke from the debt sharks office... and Paul (who got Marshall into debt in the first place) rolls up half burned on a tricycle asking for another round of help before face-planting onto the ground.

      I remember reading an article about two real life yakuza playing one of the games and commenting on what the games got right and wrong. Essentially, they agreed Kiryu was more the ideal "old school" gangster that didn't reflect the reality much. But I'd have love to known what they'd have made of stuff like the adult baby quest.
