It is a sensible choice in the right situation. For me I have a sff case and a low power requirement. I really need an NVENC encoder so the rx 6400 and intels offerings are out. The 4060 lp is about double the price of the 3050 lp and that needs external power. They're all too expensive really but this is where we are.
for my market in my country, the 3050's is my cheapest upgrade at the moment, though i have a 750ti so any card will be a significant upgrade so i think i'll be fine with this card lol
For the 170$ not worth it would buy if it was 100$ because its the strongest low profile GPU right now but sadly low profile GPUs are still being sold over 100$ even online, even the GTX 1650
wanna know why people still buy em? i can buy an office pc for $50 and just shove the gpu in there. i could get a better gpu at that same price range like the Rx 6600 but i would need to get a much more expensive pc with power supply that supports 8 pin or 6 pin gpu's, which would cost atleast 300$. people who buy LP cards are people with office PC's.
@@johndank2209 At least many people who want to equip their small form factor PC need low profile cards. The offer is thin, most with 4 or 6 GB. Ultimately everyone has to decide for themselves.

Congratulations Nvidia has now produced the competitor to the A380 which costs about 99. Since I put this comment here it appears that some people are taking this statement way too seriously. I am not wrong though. No one should be thinking of the A380 or the 3050 6gb as serious gaming cards. Both with 6gb if vram and 96bit bus they share more similarities than differences. At least the A380 is more sensibly priced and has av1 encoding. Really anything less than the rx6600, A580 or A750 should even be considered and even then I would say that as these cards are already struggling somewhat in certain games then these would be the bare minimum. I wouldn't even class the 3050 8gb model enough and at least av1 is included in all the arc cards so productivity on a budget is enhanced.
@@kitrow2247 oh dear, the similarities are greater than the differences like the 96bit memory bus 6gb of vram or variants powered by the board. Only. The A380 also has av1 encoding and even at the higher price of 120 is considerably cheaper than this Nvidia card. The original comment was meant to only poke fun at this obviously overpriced card but since you can't understand that then here is a serious response just to keep you happy. At the time that I wrote the original post then you could find the A380 from 99 dollars as well but it seems to have settled on about 120 dollars currently.
@@kitrow2247 interesting how my reply isn't showing. Sure if the price comes down and av1 encoding was included then you may have an argument for this card but both having a 96bit memory bus and 6gb of vram then (on paper) it shows more similarities than differences. That said I was poking fun rather than being serious. I wouldn't use either of these cards for any serious gaming and other people have suggested using the a380 as a second card to make use of its av1 encoding ability. I mean even the A580 or A750 or the rx6600 is a stretch for current games the Nvidia cards in this sort of price point whether the 8gb or 6gb variants are just not good enough for the price point and given that they obviously could compete in this segment but choose not to and people will buy them in any case shows the unfortunate state of how they view the affordable (relatively) end of the market. I enjoyed watching the video and was hoping to provide some light relief about a card that blatantly isn't value for money. Sorry if I upset people by doing so.
Only 2 good things is a power draw and LP versions. The rest is an awful combo for 2024 (6GbVram+price+GA107). Just looks like Nvidia decide to make a replacement for GTX1660's, but there is A380, A2000, 8600G/8700G on a market and also really a lot of other good options for non-SFF builds.
