gracias for the content, Good-quality PSUs can run at 100% capacity without issues, try undervolting the cpu and gpu to get 80% around a gross 144 watts
As we can see, the maximum power draw in this setup is no more than 165W from the wall. The 165W from the wall does not mean the PC system consumes 165W due to the PSU’s 80 Plus Gold rating. The PC could be consuming 85% of 165W from the PSU. Based on this concept, the whole PC consumes a maximum of 140.25W (165 x 85 / 100). This indicates that the total power draw from the CPU (65W) and GPU (70-75W) is correct, so we still have room for 40W to reach the max PSU capacity of 180W. Based on this analysis, this PC setup should be safe, and this is often seen with PC makers like HP, who install a GTX 1660 Ti on a 310W PSU and an RTX 3070 on a 500W PSU in their prebuilt PCs.

Ain't no way I just found a video that I need. Moreover it's from 2 weeks ago. There's much I wanna say about how grateful I am but saying this little would already make you understand. Btw, can you do a PSU upgrade on this PC?
It's running a little too close to the danger zone at times needs to not go above 150W continuous (you'll burn out the PSU quickly from the stress). However I would not upgrade the PSU due to finding a reliable propitiatory PSU costing way too much. Instead I would switch the CPU to a I7-10700T or I9-10900T. Both are 35W TDP so it'll make sure you don't go over 150W while gaming while also gaining more cache, cores & threads to boot. I had a I7-10700T for several years until I upgraded to a I5-12500T I got it paired with a RTX 4060, and the most it draws from the wall gaming is 170W in 1440p gaming. These T class CPUs are best used for systems with low wattage PSUs anyway.
I've heard conflicting things with people saying it's okay and some people saying it's not. I asked on Reddit and people say that it's fine if it's a decent PSU and such and most say the worst that'll happen is it shuts off to protect itself so i don't know which is true

I have an HP Pro 280 G9, when I install a GTX 750 ti why is the screen only blank? is there something that should be set again? or should I replace the PSU with a larger wattage?
Maybe you need to configure the PCIe version and link speed in your PC BIOS to match your graphics card. It’s possible that the GPU or PC does not recognize the hardware. Thank you.
The HP 280 Pro G6 with the RTX 3050 doesn’t officially support Resizable BAR (ReBAR), it’s still a great combo for budget-friendly gaming. To enable it, ensure you have a compatible CPU, motherboard, and the latest GeForce Game Ready driver. If you’re using an RTX 3060, you’re good to go; for other models, check for VBIOS updates. Happy gaming!
I’d for sure swap the PSU just for peace of mind. Do you know if this PC can use a standard power supply? I just did a PSU swap on a Dell 3620 and it worked great. It required a 24pin adapter cable to power the motherboard, but that was cheap on Amazon. I know other prebuilt machines can be a headache to swap PSU from the OEM one that has weird proprietary connectors.
For HP EliteDesk and Prodesk Desktop tower series with P2 7 wires or 3 wires cable and P1 4pin cable, there is no 24pin adapter to work with those PCs. We need to buy the original HP power supply replacement, as I did in my previous video. Thank you.
Hey I have a HP with Wierd PSU connector on Motherboard, I cant Upgrade It is 180 watt I m in Budget should i Buy ( Galax GTX 1650 EX (1-Click OC) GDDR6, ) it doesn't have any external Powers Connector
Yes, you can upgrade the PSU for your HP mid-tower desktop PC. There are many options available on the market for PSU replacement. Also, smaller wattages like 310W or 450W HP replacement PSUs are not expensive unless you choose a larger wattage like 500W or bigger. If you focus on daily tasks like enjoying 4K video playback and light gaming, the GTX 1650 is the best choice since it allows for plug-and-play without requiring any other upgrades.
seems like a minor undervolt or only running games that only put the gpu load at 70% or less and youd have more then enough head room for safety. keep in mind most office psu are decent quality as the oem doesnt want to do a warranty for just that
It could be that the GPU is running at PCIe 3.0 x8. Additionally, the OEM HP board limits power per PCIe x16 slot to 50W (refer to the HP datasheet). This is why the RTX 3050 6GB won’t run at its full speed. Thank you for watching.

Yes, the power supply recommendation for the RTX 3050 6GB is only 300W. I think if your GPU has a PCIe 8-pin connector, you can even install a GTX 1660. Thank you.
The RTX 3050 should work in the Dell Inspiron 3020, but make sure to check the physical dimensions and power requirements to ensure compatibility. Between the RTX 3050 LP and RX 6400 LP, the RTX 3050 generally offers better performance and features like DLSS.
For your HP Slim Desktop with an Intel® Core™ i5 9th gen processor and a 180W PSU, consider the ZOTAC GeForce GT 1030 2GB, EVGA GT 1030 GDDR5, RX 6400, or Intel Arc 310 LP. All of these fit the PCI Express x16 slot and are budget-friendly options. Verify your PSU wattage before choosing. The GT 1030 is suitable for light gaming and multimedia tasks.
If it's the RTX 3050 8G, it won't have sufficient power since it requires 1x 8-pin PCIe and a 500W PSU. However, the RTX 3050 6G should work fine since it only has a 70W TDP and does not require an extra PCIe power cable. Thank you.
Hi! The RTX 3050 LP is a capable card for video editing, but your HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-5000i with a 180W PSU might be a bit underpowered for it. The RTX 3050 typically requires a minimum of 300W to 350W PSU for stable performance. To avoid potential issues, you might consider upgrading your PSU to at least 300W. Alternatively, you could try reducing the power limit of the GPU using software like MSI Afterburner to see if it works within your current setup. Hope this helps, and thank you for watching!
I think a PC that comes with a 180W PSU is not likely to have any trouble since the engineers designed it to work with that power supply. However, if you want to add a GPU, it depends on which GPU you choose. If you need to install an RTX 3050 6G or any GPU with a 70W TDP, it could still run, but it might stress your PC’s PSU, potentially shortening its lifespan. Alternatively, you can use Afterburner to downclock your GPU to ensure it runs safely for the long term. Thank you.
Hello, thanks for the info! This is what i was looking for since i am planning to install a GTX 1650/1050Ti into a Lenovo M710t, sporting a huntkey 180w psu with an i5 7400. For context i am using an i5 6500 with a GTX 1650 on a dell 240w psu, works flawlessly. The 1650 consumes 75w maximum, while the 6500 is below 40w (51w peak while running prime95) Do you think the 180w psu in the lenovo will suffice?
Hello! Thanks for sharing your setup. The GTX 1650 does indeed consume around 75W, and the i5-7400 typically consumes about 65W under load. Adding in the power for other components, your total power draw might be close to the limit of the 180W PSU in the Lenovo M710t. While it might work, it’s quite close to the PSU’s maximum capacity, which could lead to instability or shutdowns under heavy load. For better reliability, you might want to consider upgrading to a higher wattage PSU if possible.
it is not a problem to run game for a benchmark on poor PSU, try to use it in this mode for month and will see what hapen. Sooner or later PSU will die from owerheating, same about MB, it is not made to run with consumer cards, they use low power Quadro cards for a reason. But for level of TH-cam it is too complicated..
I think any GPU that doesn’t require an extra PCIe power cable, like the GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti, GTX 1650, RTX 3050, RX 550, or RX 6400, is good for your 280W power supply. Thank you.

@@aaron_lanky62__26 If the PC has a 4GB stick and a 16GB stick installed, it won’t run in dual-channel memory mode. Dual-channel requires identical pairs (e.g., 2x4GB or 2x16GB). In this case, it’ll operate in single-channel mode. Encourage them to match the RAM sticks for better performance!

For context i am using an i5 6500 with a GTX 1650 on a dell 240w psu, works flawlessly. The 1650 consumes 75w maximum, while the 6500 is below 40w (51w peak while running prime95)
Do you think the 180w psu in the lenovo will suffice?
@@itggear3400 the cpu is actually at 50w maximum while doing prime95, so most likely 40w peak while gaming
it is not a problem to run game for a benchmark on poor PSU, try to use it in this mode for month and will see what hapen. Sooner or later PSU will die from owerheating, same about MB, it is not made to run with consumer cards, they use low power Quadro cards for a reason. But for level of TH-cam it is too complicated..
Best gpu for intel i3 9100 with psu 200w
Hey bro what gpu is good on my 280 watt psu with a i7 4790
I think any GPU that doesn’t require an extra PCIe power cable, like the GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti, GTX 1650, RTX 3050, RX 550, or RX 6400, is good for your 280W power supply. Thank you.
@@itggear3400 alright
would it work on a 350w
Yes, the power supply recommendation for the RTX 3050 6GB is 300W, so a 350W PSU will absolutely work.
@@itggear3400would I need to upgrade my ryzen 5 2600 x and 24 gb ram or is my pc okay ?
@@aaron_lanky62__26 Your Ryzen 5 2600X with 24GB RAM is decent, but consider upgrading to dual-channel RAM (2x8GB) for better performance. Also, check your GPU-upgrading it could enhance gaming. Share your budget, and I’ll provide more tailored advice!
@@itggear3400 thank u man helps a lot I’m not looking to spend hella amounts on my pc as I’m going on holiday so around 450 to 500
@@aaron_lanky62__26 If the PC has a 4GB stick and a 16GB stick installed, it won’t run in dual-channel memory mode. Dual-channel requires identical pairs (e.g., 2x4GB or 2x16GB). In this case, it’ll operate in single-channel mode. Encourage them to match the RAM sticks for better performance!
That's not gonna last long with 180w psu, that's what happen to my "hp 290 g1 mt" paired with gtx 1050 2gb lowprofile, the gpu died a week later after i installed it.
I've been using a GTX 1650 4GB in an Optiplex with a 180W PSU for over a year now with no issues.
your gpu dying within a week is probably because of other cause
Yeah especially cuz the 1050 draws negative power @@Kagamiya
RTX 3050 Beurk !!!
"VAGI port" 😅
That’s more than enough to work
Of course it’ll work
