You know what really blew my mind? So I've never personally come across your channel, but it seems like you obviously aren't a Runescape creator, you do a variety. But what blew my mind is about that Durial thing, you've given the most accurate, most reasonable possibility as to what happened, compared to almost all actual Runescape content creators. Mad props for that, and definitely subbing for how creative these are.
The only thing I can remember about my short time playing Runescape back in early 2000s, was starting the game, and some random player telling me to attack a "Gold Bear" who would drop tons of gold. The bear kills me, and that random player takes my stuff.
Sometimes I think it's unfair how much botting there is in RS, but then again... Jagex bans people for their own coding faults, even when it isn't even a harmful glitch...
So what I'm noticing with all these glitches is the Devs add or change something but dont properly test it, the players find a glitch and use it a lot, then the devs perma ban for their own fuck up. Wow really wants to make me play their game if their only response is banning because they couldn't properly code anything
It is crazy that they do that. Ban people for ridiculous glitches they did or people accidently finding them. Its ridiculous because my account did much worse and is still not banned. In 2005, I was a middle schooler. I use to imitate Jagex Mods and steal peoples accounts. I was very persuasive and had a script I had memorized. Always had another window up to get ready to change the passwords and secret questions. Never banned for it though. Still not banned for it. Which what I did is far worse than the glitches people got banned for. They were more worried about the economy than the player.
Your channel is criminally under-subbed. Give it another year or so and I’m sure you’ll be over half a million. Especially with the shorts you’ve been putting out. Although I’m personally a fan of these longer videos. I’d love to see more, especially focusing on older games from 90’s-00’s kids childhoods. Maybe even some one off videos showcasing interesting hardware for old consoles. Like cheat devices, mod chips, and other third party accessories with cool and unique functionality. Ok, I’ll stop rambling and go back to binging this playlist now. Thank you for all the amazing content!

That's what people who play videogames do, they take advantage. Punishing them permanently for your own faults is stupid.
@@kake1604 that would only apply if the people getting banned were magically affected by by the bugs, but in the instances here, they know exactly what they're doing abusing the bug. It's their fault for abusing it intentionally, which is, as a reminder, still against the rules. Dupers also abuse bugs that the devs didnt know existed, should they also be let off?
@@wiskyr6510 It doesn’t matter. Bugs in video games are not in any way similar to breaking the law. Any game designer has to understand that players will always abuse systems to gain an advantage. Developers then have a duty to patch any obvious exploits as they see fit. They shouldn’t expect people to just not exploit glitches in a game where any advantage is priceless. Of course people will abuse exploits. As far as I’m concerned, so long as you’re not abusing exploits at the expense of players who don’t know the exploits then no harm no foul. Even for those players, maybe a warning or temp ban instead of permanently banning anyone regardless of what glitch they exploited.

I had gotten really into runescape in Middle School (around 2006/2007). I never had a membership but somehow got into a members only mining area. When I tried to leave it would tell me I was trying to enter a members area and that I could not. I was softlocked in the members only mining area and abandoned the account. Don't know if it ever happened to anyone else, but it was super weird.
I've been watching your videos on other games, and went back to see what else you've had. I've played osrs basically since it came out, and have NEVER heard anyway mention the durial scrying pool thing anywhere else. Thank you.
A worse troll is telling them you know how to dupe items. Having them drop their items and then telling them to hold Ctrl and type "Wizardry". Which closed their browsers. Giving you enough time to wait for their items to show and taking them. Ctrl + W closes the browser.
Tell that to World of Warcraft admins. They are even cocky about it, the last response they posted to such a glitch was: "be grateful we stopped the server, otherwise we would have banned you" which easily translates to: we are to incompetent too fix issues in time, but we make the rules here, so know your place, player!
I mean expecting perfection from any is literally impossible every games has bugs and the more complex the game the higher the chances it's not their fault and truth be told most of the glitches in this list can or did ruin the game and it's economy

They should have taken notes from Bungie! Halo 2 had the Super Bounce exploit, which eventually led to OOB findings. They didn't ban anyone because they said anyone can do it. As it was very easy to do. Same with BxR and Double Shots.

While I never intentionally performed a glitch in the main game outside of testing if it could be replicated before reporting, things were different in the RS2 beta where progress wasn't saved, so once someone found that you could clip through the wall on the second floor of a building and fly through the world, of course I did it. It was fun, seeing so many people walking through the air. As far as bugs that I've personally experienced that weren't covered in this video, when the blast furnace was first released someone discovered that you could smelt adamant bars there without the required smithing level. I tried it with a single bar, it worked, I reported and moved on. As for other glitch stories I've heard of that aren't in this video, there's the legendary tale of the time a clan of bug abusers that were granted immunity under the condition that they reported their findings to JaGEx managed to pickpocket the rotten potato from a JMod, which was a dev item with all kinds of unique mod powers, by abusing an out of bounds glitch in a certain minigame. I also remember when certain items from new Member's content would be failed to be flagged as Member's objects upon release, like the red cards in the Shantay Pass update back in classic which saw the item be renamed to A Free Shantay Disclaimer when people discovered that they were tradable on F2P and were selling them for around 20k. Then, early in RS2 when Canifis was added the different colored boots from the shop were also tradable to free players, though I don't recall what, if anything, was done about it.

Trying to play OSRS with analog sticks would likely be pretty painful, but I would love for it to get a Switch port one day for use with the touch screen!
@@PhobiaSoft You can play OSRS on Switch if you push the Lineage OS too it. Which basically just turns your switch into an Android OS. It worked perfectly, but I only tried for a bit. I didn't want to get my 2004 RS account banned, so I tested it with a new account. Would be awesome though if you could officially play it on the Switch.
knowing jagex most likely forgot to switch the potato in poh and a privet sever found it.. idk im sure the mod potato started as a separator idk when they switched

You can play WoW with a controller now, they made it possible finally. Really easy to set up too.
