Unfortunately it was better to level a pure with cannon and alching to avoid hp xp but back then most people dgaf.

PKing back in 2003-2009 was the best times, gone downhill since then. PKing nowadays is very off putting for new players or people trying to get back into it again - now it's all ticks, pid, 500 switches and combo foods 24/7. Can't beat just simple eating a shark and having a whip/dds.
2007 RuneScape… back in those days, there were players who would somehow get your IP from the game and take down your internet just to beat you for a rune scimitar

F2P Varrock Multi is what real PKing was all about. Meet and team up with random people or friends, have fun, don’t worry about risk, stats, gear or tick-perfect clicks, and still get decent loot over time. Now it’s just people camping GE or Lumbridge in PvP worlds 24/7 fighting 1V1, and only Edgeville singles is left for F2P wilderness PKing. It’s lame that Jagex restricted F2P accounts from the beginning. Even in February 2015 upon permanent free to play’s release, F2P accounts couldn’t trade for 24 in game hours and all stackable items PKed in the wilderness were reduced to 1 of each. For example if the guy you PKed had 100 Chaos Rune, but hadn’t played 24 in game hours, you would only get 1 Chaos Rune as the PKer (even if you as the PKer played 24+ in-game hours) Later on, Jagex made all these restrictions for new accounts; May 2018; 150 total to enter friends chat April 2020; 100 total / 10 QP / 20 in game hours for unrestricted trade. They were supposed to stop bots, but all they did was hurt real players whenever they make a new account and kill low level F2P PKing, which then affected med-high level wilderness PKing, too. And they don’t even stop the bots; evidenced by the large number of bots with high boss KC and lots of post-99 XP like in the case of Hunter bots. And even with those restrictions, F2P multi was still active up until late 2019. But eventually it was just too much, along with other PvP content splitting the PK community and thinning it out even further (LMS, Ferox enclave, PVP worlds, Bounty Hunter). We had a good thing and Jagex ruined it.
You totally forgot the ok 0 0 phrase, next time you pk try it and some Taco Limey madness hits you. Edit. Taco Limey did hit a highest dds spec of that Era after hitting double 0, and typing ok 0 0 whilst sending second dds

Its just weird, but i figure a good percentage of OSRS players are weird and sad by assocation/default.
U risked non-tradable items back then so people didn’t want to risk them unless they were actually good at pking. They should have kept it that way in 07
this is a major part of why I quit the game, Power creep got insane, pking got so boring, nobody risks because everyone does 70 damage a hit, korasi never misses. Remember Smite hybrid fighting that was the golden era, now you got sweats in crystal doing 40 damage every range hit.
