I am super looking forward to the MM video of yours, if that's what the end of the video is presuming. Just discovered your channel from this video and I feel like I'm going to have a great time through your vids!
@@liljon042 I hope you do! I give all games the same treatment (breaking them in half) 😀
@@PhobiaSoftI’m in the Spirit Temple as kid Link in Ocarina of Time
@@PhobiaSoft binged most of them and they are super high quality! Impressive work! Keep it up! You'll get a huuuuuge fanbase in no time
The fact that you explain every glitch and make these runs possible for pretty much anyone is awesome. These are the only videos like this. Thank you.
Glitches in OoT? You don't say...
My childhood. Actually one of the first games I ever played back in the 90s
when i see an upload from this mf i sit down and waste an hour learning about glitches ill never see again and its still some of the most enteraining content on this site, love your videos bro
for real tho, you really cant find this kind of content anywhere else, and it is top notch quality

Glitch this......eaten out by ghoma....I'm rolling
I don't think I've ever actually laughed at a glitch in a game but the fact that you can just "nope" that final cut scene and keep the Master Sword was incredible 😂
I didn't know about the wall in Ganon's Tower being classified as a loading zone. You showed the Spirit trial and I thought for sure you were going to showcase clipping out of the trial and walking on the featureless collision back to the entrance and walking through the now unloaded barrier
your cadence is perfect for a video like this. very pleasant to listen to. great work.
Yo, I loved seeing good ol' Ship of Harkinian in this video! It's definitely the best way to play Ocarina of Time, in my opinion. Want classic vanilla OoT with N64 aesthetics? A version with tons of QoL changes? A healthy mix of the two? A version that assists with glitches and allows for modding? It has *everything*.
Great content, as usual! I love hearing the "why" behind why my favorite games bug out.
This is exactly the type of videos I’ve been looking for please make more! The long format is so awesome and entertaining
This is a wonderfully informative and entertaining video but all I can focus on is how HD this bad boy looks DAMN
As someone who never watches speed runs, I really appreciate how much you dumbed down the explanations and made me feel like this is something I could pull off
This came across my feed and I really enjoyed it. You do a great job explaining complex mechanics in a way that's easy to understand and easy to listen to.
Nice video 👍
I think this might be the first oot glitch video I've seen that uses the pc port, and performing the glitches in an order you could need to use them from the start of a new playthrough is a great idea. Great vid!
Really good quality and in-depth explanation, for everyone to understand.
Keep it up!

It's amazing how close to some of the routes for speed runs this is. Good video and I hadn't realized the OOT ports had came along so far as I hadn't dug into them much yet. I guess I know what I'm setting up on my Steam Deck later tonight at some point.
Well, I asked for another glitch run-through for the older games, and you didn’t disappoint. Like I said before, your glitch run throughs are like crack, and I appreciate the fix. Thanks!
"like crack"
Damn bro, crack is expensive, and you get that kinda fix from video game glitches too?
Imagine wasting money when you can just giggle the stick and jiggle the code.
Really good video! As someone who is a big fan of OOT, there is some stuff in here that even i didn't know about. Really excited for the majora's mask video when that comes out.
I love that you explained some of the glitches in an easier way to follow. Also ZFG being referenced is amazing
Zfg and OoT are forever linked to me
Great video! Thanks for explaining the way you do!
The only experience I've had with sequence breaking in OoT was waaay back in the day using the "crooked cartridge" trick. Which essentially consist of slightly pulling the cartridge on one side until the game gets all scrambled and you can for example skip the Kokiri blocking your way out of the forest.
The downside was that I did this too many times a day messed up my cartridge. All my saves got delated or would get deleted if I turn off the console. But even if the file survived, if you restarted your game, your name would appear in Japanese characters, and if someone in the game did your name, the game would freeze and even if you restarted the game it would happen again, and you'll have to delete your file and star over again.
Amazing playthrough! Well done 👏👏👏
The oddesy of hyrule had a bunch listed in 1999, crooked cartridge, swordless link, escaping forest without sword or shield, and the infinite skulltula near the castle
Yesss I have been waiting for this one for as long as you made the end video teaser of it years ago!
I was waiting for the PC port to get finished! Now I wait for the port of Majora...
No, its a framerate issue, not a texture quality issue. I need a version of the game that allows for decoupling the framerate of the visuals from the framerate of logic (which needs to stay at 20fps for glitches to behave the same) Ship of Harkinian handles it this way and its brilliant
@@PhobiaSoft The fact that the PC port is perfectly faithful to the original game's logic is really awesome honestly!
Even the 3ds port didn't go this far considering they did keep a lot of the original glitches on purpose from what I've heard.
How the hell does blocking ganons swing prevent the master sword from being lost??? Why would they code it that way 😂
Right? 💀
btw you can damage Ganon with deku nuts fior some reason lol. but it was still a nice moment to mention supersliding
Love your vids!
All those frames make the game almost look alien. Soo good
Ocarina of Time videos will never get boring to me
This was an awesome video!
why does this look SO GOOD ?
PC emulator in high resolution and high fps
I love doing the bomb jumping one.
So simple, but it makes things so much easier sometimes
Awesome video. I never knew you could hit Ganon's magic with a bottle. I started playing it on day of release.
A work of art
16:28 there’s a very precise jump you can make there, it’s definitely possible to cross the fire gaps without slingshot or explosives. It’s very hard, and really sucks to do with deku shield since it’s easy to lose here.
Also, in DC I’m surprised you didn’t mention ground jump. Super easy way to skip the first half of DC.
Didn't wanna waste a Chu on it
Yeah it's been done in glitchless runs that skip slingshot for years. There's some decent setups for it if you don't want to eyeball it like top glitchless runners do.
Your videos are amazing
I liked the poacher's saw one, but I'd say doing the lunge storage set up for door of time skip is way easier. Dope video. 😎
Kinda funny how to get the item to defeat Ganon, you can use a "bug" to get it.
This was so cool 😎
There's another method to skip Ganon's barrier that doesn't need bombs. Enter the spirit trial, push the nearest armos statue to the wall near the door, then pull it a couple times towards the door. From there simply jump slash between the two and you'll be in the main room, and it works as child too. The textures don't load though so you have to use the spirit trial and the barrier beams to navigate into the tower loading zone. There's a setup to get in there consistently but even without that it's fairly easy.
That's what I thought he was going to do, never knew about the loading zone in the wall
great video! do you also plan on covering the DS games like phantom hourglass?
one of the interesting glitches in ocarina of time, specifically the 3ds version, is Dark Link.
he's actually the most infamous yet perfect example of a buggy mess in the 3ds version,
cuz if you compare the 64 version's fight to the 3ds there's a few differences when fighting with only the master sword.
64's Dark Link's effectively literally perfect frame-wise. he actually counters jump attacks and thrusts like he's supposed to.
OOT 64's Dark Link also has a glitch known as a "Dark Link Spin attack" Glitch, which's very obscure.
normally Dark Link will never do a Spin attack and is not supposed to, but from what I recall, I think it was
charged spin+spamming spin attack after, and he'll eventually do it. this may need deku nut and/or arrows.
as for 3ds Dark Link, it was stated and is actually true that 3ds Dark Link suffers from the frames of the 3ds, which's why mashing's easier, but there's actually some more glaring issues with him, which you can see using the master sword only.
1. he's very buggy, you'll first see it when you spam thrust attacks, when he's full color he will never counter the thrust attack if multiple thrusts happen in a short time frame and he dodges a 2nd one.
multi-thrusts can go through his defense easily right after he dodges the first
2. the most glaring example of buggy and glitchy is 3ds Dark Link's Jump Attack counter. in the 3ds version Dark Link cannot and will never counter Link's Jump attack, he instead Jumps Sideways and Upwards, no counter at all. the only way he will ever counter Link's jump attack in this glitchy/buggy state is if you force him into a wall with Jump attacks.
very specifically, both Link+Dark Link's models must overlap as you spam Jump attacks against the wall, only then does 3ds Dark Link do a counter Jump attack.
In wonder, if at any point in history, their existed a gamer so set in their ways, so stubborn, so patient, that this was how their first playthrough of the game was like.
Awesome video Phobia! Question though, what did you use to get those neat, updated graphics? Can it be done with the N64 version or does it require Ship of Harkinan?
The textures are from a pack called OOT Reloaded. There's a version for Ship and a version for emulators too!
Well I thought my last run where I beat the adult dungeons in a near reverse order, sequence breaking my way into the Spirit and Shadow Temples was going to be my perfect run, but now I guess I gotta play through again and ignore the fire and water temples
Thank you for your wisdom
That run also sounds really cool!
The bottom of the well unloaded actor glitch can actually be done after you have unlocked the door, you don't have to worry if you unlock the door and attempt again.
Yes, but the window is much tighter that way, I don't think that's a good way to teach the trick for newcomers. You are correct though!
amazing video, holy
I found clipping through the Door of Time much easier with the lunge storage glich.
4:09
Getting isg is so easy i got it as a kid with no idea what the glitch was, i just saw a video where someone did it (not even a tutorial) and said "theres no way you can do that" and did that with no explanation more than my visual comprehension.
Arguably the easiest (useful and player activated) glitch in gaming.
Edit I forgot the sonic boom knuckles infinite jump but c'mon the "release then patch" business model doesn't count.
I'm playing on the NA nso version, and can reliably get isg after some practice. However, when I go to do the trick on the kid, I can clip into his model but then after the text box closes I just get pushed out. Not sure how to proceed
Edit - nvm just took some practice, turns out I was only partially clipping. I got out early tysm let's go!!!
Awesome Video, ZFG would be Proud :P
I am able to get bottle on B and have broken biggoron's sword on C-right but it isnt giving me the Shadow or Spirit medallions, however it is giving me the (unusable) hover boots... Im playing on the Ship of Harkinian port with RBA Original Values toggled On.
Okay so Ship is a bit weird. Because they added "Items on D-pad" as a potential feature, it changed the variable order in memory. In Ship, RBA points to D-Pad right, not C-right, regardless of if you have the feature enabled or not. In order to RBA in Ship, you HAVE to enable the "Items on D-pad" feature, and put Broken Goron Sword on D-pad right instead. (I learned this the hard way, but I have reported it as something that needs to be fixed in a future Ship release.)
@@PhobiaSoft thanks! I was able to get RBA for medallions and quiver by doing this.
Stale Reference manipulation is what Quantum Mechanics is in real life
Question with the Bombchues! I know that the rock near Zelda's Castle has Din's Fire, Or Love, or something. If you bomb that rock where you did the Seam glitch, could you get that magic ability early as a child?
Yes and no, magic only comes from the Great Fairies in Death Mountain, so you could get Din's Fire early, but you'd be unable to cast it
@@PhobiaSoft I appreciate the reply! That was extremely cool to watch!
If you call traveling to another land to stop a falling moon in three days as living in peace, then yah. I guess Link is able to live out his childhood in peace.
I bet there is going to be another video like this one for Majora's Mask, right?
Of course!
Just started this game again last night … go figure ! Thanks lol😅
16:12 You can skip past both of the fire pillar rooms with *very* precise jumps. th-cam.com/video/dcPSgv68INw/w-d-xo.html
That said for the sake of the video's pacing, teaching the mega flip just to yoink the bomb bag is worth it and ultimately you save more time/do a better self-taught speedrun by doing so. Very fun video, always appreciate Ocarina of Time for its glitches that let you beat the game basically however you want.
Wow, nice find!
Dude this OFT look so good ! What do you using ?
Ship of Harkinian with OOT Reloaded textures!
You can actually pass the fire room in dodongos cavern without the slingshot, just takes precise ledge grabs through the room. But bombchu flip backwards is way cooler
Pinned comment
I play OOT almost daily and i know all of these glitches, randomizers are the best thing to happen to OOT (besides PC Port) and it keeps me playing my favourite game forever.
for the npc event glitch, is there a possibility of throwing the cuckoo in a different corner, so it is easier to get to the master craftsman? just wondering because I am stuck😅
Pocket Cucco just sounds dirty.
the actors glitch works for me even if the door is unlocked. i dont think it's necessary to save before that cause when i mess up i just go back through the crawlspace
You can technically still do it with an unlocked door, the timing is just much tighter
I didn't see you put the sculltula glitch on there which allows you to get the same skulltula token over and over again inside The grotto outside of Hyrule Castle using the song of storms where you pick up the token with your boomerang and then back out of the grotto before it gets back to you
Its not just that skulltula token, you can use that strategy to duplicate almost all of them. Its extremely easy in the Lost Woods in particular
Majora's Mask and OoT overlap in my memory. I remember things from each one and they cross over in my mind while playing either game
There's a fair bit of overlap when it comes to glitches, but also a lot of differences. One of the most notable is that bomb hovering is significantly easier in MM.
43:22 i personally prefer using the deku nuts and longshot for the lulz
Me someone that Don't do speedruns but like to break games:
I on that shit
I find it odd that you didn’t mention Power Crouch Stab. Speeds up Ganondorf fight and is applicable for ISG. Also, oddly enough, you can actually damage Ganon with nuts, though using the Master Sword for the whole fight is faster because it’ll do two damage with regular swings or four damage with jump attack/PCS (which is normal for it, but all other attacks do only one damage to Ganon)
Power Crouch Stab being a glitch or an intended mechanic is sort of arguable either way, and is so well known by vanilla players, I didn't think it was necessary
thats crazy

I'm surprised you didn't show the lunge storage version of door of time skip. I that's much less difficult/reliant on good controllers. Or maybe I just suck at the roll side hop jumpslash method =P

I always found lunge storage easier than the way shown here for door of time skip
This version of the game looks so smooth and clean it's freaky.
Seriously, I've never seen OoT look this good. I'd love to know which version it is. Based on the copyright date, I'm assuming the GC version is Dolphin?
Do twilight princess one day plisss
Witch Version of oot do you play? It looks fantastic 😃👍
This is Ship of Harkinian with the OOT Reloaded texture pack. As for the specific version of Ocarina, I played on patch 1.2 which is what the Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, and Switch releases use
@@PhobiaSoft Thank you 😊✌
My friends and I used another glitch when we were kids, changing items to be bottles LOL
Is there gonna be any new up-to date souls glitches(, like maybe all ds1 glitches in it’s entirety)?
Dark Souls 1 is actually the next planned video
Hi! I am currently playing OoT on my old Game Cube and I was wondering if I can copy these glitches on that version?
Yep! I did this run using the Gamecube ISO in Ship of Harkinian, so its perfect for you
The GameCube version is the N64 version emulated at 30fps with a higher resolution
@@ShadyPlatinum777 does that make the glitches more difficult to perform in any way?
You're going to be the next a+start also known as andy
(Zelda leitmotif)
Glorious.
How did you get that game to look that great
Fun fact: You can definitely get through that fire room in dodongos with another glitch 😉
Wow, I look pretty damn good in this rendering. What platform is it being emulated on?!
Actually watched the sponsorship 😅 not bad
Genuine question, since people have access to zelda files that show glitches, does that mean that every single glitch in OOT has been discovered? or are there still glitches that people discover overtime?
New discoveries are being made all the time. For example, a new wrong-warp to Ganon's Castle was discovered just a few months ago that changed the route for the Any% speedrun
@@PhobiaSoft How come people didn't know about the glitch sooner since they have access to all the files and can see things that you aren't supposed to see in game?
16:10 This jump is actually possible without a single glitch. Heck I did it on my third attempt TODAY in fact. I tried to see if I could skip it, and you can. I’ll gladly tell you how
Read the pinned comment
45:00 Right?
Wrong, the Door respawned and got him stuck forever
He just did another Save-warp I'm sure ;p
Is there a speed run category that uses this glitch path?
The closest thing would probably "Ganondorf Source Requirement" but its a little different than this because they don't RBA
Could you make a metal gear video in the future ?
I'm a huge Metal Gear fan, but I'm running into the same issues with it as Castlevania - there just isn't an active fanbase on TH-cam for it anymore... I'll be watching the release of Snake Eater Delta really closely, so if I find some interesting glitches in that game, and it seems there's a large enough interested audience, I might begin there. Sadly there are a ton of games I want to cover that just don't make financial sense for me to invest that much time into, but if you guys were to make the demand heard, I'd be more than happy to get into MGS on this channel!
15:44 you don't need to throw a nut here, the cutscene prevents you from taking explosive damage so you can just hold the chu until it blows up
The nut sets off the Bombchu early so you don't have to wait
@@PhobiaSoft you can also pull out a chu as soon as you enter and hold it while walking as it does not cause you to slow down at all effectively taking just as much time. My thing is newer players are probably gonna want to keep their health going into this dungeon as fire keese, fire, and lava might chip away at health as is. Plus it’s an interesting glitch as cutscenes can often be used to interrupt various actions just the same as Navi/cuckoo dives do
I agree! However, this is not a speedrun tutorial, I do not factor time optimization into my instructions at all. Nothing against it, but that's not what my audience is here for. If I have two different options available, I always teach the one that is not time dependent.
DoT skip has an easier set-up now, it uses lunge storage
Also the setup he used here can be done slightly differently so that you don't even need a sword, which is great for both deku stick and itemless forest escape methods.
thank you and also to zsg
Following along, and after clipping through with the vine clip, I cannot get the chest 😭😭 can someone help, the water doesn’t seem to take me up high enough
somehow nintendo games are the most polished with no bugs or glitches and then at the same time have the most glitches ever, really cool and fun ones
Yeah, Mario has very little to no glitches but LOZ has more glitches than coke does sugar.
Hey, hold up... *there's a PC port of OOT?* Are you telling me that after all this time, I can not only play OOT without an emulator, but I can unshackle it from its 20 FPS cap?
You're seeing the game running at 60 in this video, yeah? 😛
