I sent a questiom about the permissibility of wedding rituals such as haldi & mehendi. I really hope you answer it as they're so common in south asian wedding's it would be good to get your perspective.
The shaykh isnt saying go out and free mix. The default is DLNT freemix intentionally. However if u are in the situation were the culture is open, dont be too awkward It's a matter of balance. Stay away from the opposite gender...but when in circumstances or situations everyone is talking, dont be the awkward one... reply when spoken to, and it is courtesy.
I would say it would be best to find a place that has a mosque so you can attend Jumma money is not more important than your obligations and it’s easy to find somewhere where you can make good money and attend Jumma
