@@Alex-xi4bg No one complained about the Sickle. And the eruptor wasn’t a nerf, the shrapnel wasn’t working properly so they removed it temporarily. But overall you’re missing the point - the game is less fun, and at higher levels it forces you into metas. That’s not the way it should be.

it’s supposed to be a hard team based game, if you got weapons that let people easily solo level 9 is that gun fairly balanced? at the same time if we have a gun that struggles on level 5 is it balanced? Theyre doing what bungie tried with destiny, they had a mentality of they designed these weapons and they want them to be used, they literally told people what the metas will be each season and purposely forced you to use things you didnt want to
Remember when all it took was a tweet from Sony for people to change their negative ratings to positive on steam? The people in the affected countries still aren't able to play the game and that was all that really mattered. I remembered after seeing that, I realized how good Sony's PR is and how doomed HD2 was. That one Sony rep in the room gotta be giving PR advice thinking Arrowhead is just as good, or Arrowhead learned that saying anything good and then controlling the engagement works. They just forgot to be creative with it so it doesn't trigger people's pattern recognition.
What pisses me off about the fire damage not working on armored enemies is that flamethrowers were specifically fucking employed because of how well they worked on armored vehicles at that point in history. Insulation on these vehicles was practically non-existent- and so armies would use flamethrowers because it would not only cook the people inside, but the fire itself would find ways into the cabin.
Fast forward 6 months. There is only one player who still plays Helldivers 2 left named Shakespeare. He only plays solo on level 5 because he can't find any other players to join with because he is the last player left. They AH devs notice that 100% of the players are using one single type of weapons load out. Shakespeare has all his current weapons load out castrated into uselessness, something he has experienced multiple times by now. Finally unable to take it anymore, Shakespeare writes the most emotionally driven piece of writing called "Arrowhead and Shakespeare" and sends it to AH. The writing is a masterpiece. It shows raw hatred, revenge, pure unadulterated emotion and the true nature of despair. CEO of AH releases a statement: "I love how the Helldivers 2 community loves this game so much to be so emotional, it's so much better than not caring!" Shakespeare is so distressed he kills himself and the active player count of Helldivers 2 drops to zero. The devs and CEO of AH, who had been feeding on negative emotional energy of thousands, are finally starved to the point of desperation, and retreat to the far northern mountains of Sweden to join Grendel, hiding deep within a mountain cave, where they will sleep for 1000 years.
I just find it hard to believe that not one soul from their team did not think "Hey guys, is it a bad idea to nerf flamethrowers just as our flamethrower based warbond comes out?". That is what scares me the most..... the consistent level of disconnect and lack of foresight....

Seriously, I had so so so much faith in this game. I’ve been game switching past few months, play a game for 2 mins get bored and switch until I get bored and turn the console off. This game hooked me, felt like OG halo days or Gears of war. Just felt great and they fucked it all up. Literally have been sitting on max spending points since it came out. My faith is gone for gaming.

A list of weapons I used to really really like using before they got gutted: 1. Arc thrower 2. Vanilla breaker 3. Eruptor 4. Flame thrower 5. Pummeler 6. Laser cannon at a brief point could quickly break charger and bile titan backs but nobody talks about it because it got stealth nerfed before anyone could notice.
The Eruptor was my gun!! for like a week....then I woke up one day and it was completely gutted, nerfed to the absolute dirt and the actual mechanic ruined and removed....what a nightmare, I paid 40 dollars for this game, why are you nerfing the weapon I AM CURRENTLY ENJOYING?!?!?!....and it is still to this day a worthless piece of trash, left in the menu for no reason other than to remind me that at one time, it was a useful gun, for a moment, a very brief moment. But believe me when I tell you this game used to be fun!
It doesn't make any sense. The game was incredible but they just "fine tuned" it straight to hell. They were like "people are having so much fun with our game.... but that's not what this game is about". They are trying so damn hard to kill their own game
Ikr?! I was expecting so much more with the update but there was... literally nothing more than they said in the trailer. In fact, there was less - no automaton command ships or snipers which were shown. Honestly I hope this game dies (more than it already has) because Arrowhead needs to learn a lesson.
I think the "and more" was them HARD shadow buffing the game because before the patch hell dives weren't easy but they were manageable and then post patch they suddenly become impossible to win after trying multiple times with high leveld randoms
@@zanderandrus7074Bug missions are impossible to win consistently now thanks to the IMPALER, DEMON OF RAGDOLLING, 500 hunters, 5 Chargers, and 3 Bile Titans spawning randomly at breaches. Bots feel a lot more fair than bugs as of this update.
I genuinely think they got crazy lucky making the game they did. The more they change the game to match their vision, the worse it gets. They caught lightning in a bottle at launch, and can't identify what it was that made it so good
I will never understand AH. They started with the intent to mine for coal but found a gold mine. But instead of harvesting the gold they are collapsing the mine. It just begs the question why? It’s like they are trying to tank their own game.
They probably didn't anticipate the game to perform so well. And right now, with all the cash they earned, I think that they don't care about HD2 that much because they may cook new game that they really wanted to make. I've also heard that the game engine is awful to work with, and they are only studio that is using it right now.

Until then they’ll do what they can for HD2 and let people have their fun. Idk. Maybe I’m just too dumb to understand their reasoning. However I do believe AH should be concerned about Space Marines 2 and later in 2025 Monster Hunter Wild if they want to stay competitive. They need to make some big plays now to get at least good faith and encourage players to come back.

All these changes do is just make it more annoying because you have to put more bullets into things, that’s it. The objectives are still as easy as they were on earlier levels, the enemies still act the exact same way, my damage just goes down and that makes things tedious not difficult.
Arrowhead: "We listened to player feedback and have decided to reduce the Spear damage so it no longer one-shots most heavies, which seemed too OP and unfair to the bots and bugs. We've also reduced it's ammo capacity to 2 and you can no longer get more ammo from resupply packs because it looks unrealistic"
It’s like the developers are upset that people can actually “win” against the odds. It’s an uphill battle on 7+ and they have you out there getting one or two shot by everything because the “PVE” enemies can headshot you., drop 20 armored enemies at once, while your stratagems are on cooldown.
Not evening mentioning you have half a second to stop an enemy from calling reinforcements to start the whole thing over again. Hope you still have a round in your clip to stop that
I haven't played this game since the breaker got nerfed all those months back, and I wasn't even a fanatic(I was like lvl20 I think) and I called it even back then, "If they keep nerfing stuff only to make the game harder, noone will want to play this game", because at the end of the day, games are supposed to be fun, and 90% of gamers when they wanna relax and have fun, don't boot up helldivers 2 to get railed by unfair enemy spawns with 0 ammo on their wet noodle of a weapon.

They do play mostly on Diff 5 - with only 3 devs actually able to run a full 9 lvl Helldive... This explains a bit, but even if they cannot pull the Helldive, then at least listen to one's who do!

No, the playerbase is disconnected from the Helldivers IP. Mainly because 90% of them never played the first game. Helldivers 1 was absolutely brutal on higher difficulties and absolutely required everyone work as a team. These casual players who have a fit over every tiny nerf have no clue about team play. If you all work together during a mission you can be massively overpowered. The sweaty tryhards who came from garbage pvp games are absolutely destroying this game.

My company partners and I found great joy in Helldivers 2 when it released. It was fun, made us work together, and even brought someone who didn't play video games aboard because it was fun and raw. However, I was playing one night, grinding medals so I could unlock the first two Warbonds and I noticed something strange when trying to connect with another friend I made through this game "User is playing a different version of this game." I saw that, checked Steam, and saw I had an update pending for HD2. I quit the game, updated it, and holy crap did everything change. From this one patch, we saw difficulty go up tremendously, even though everything was unlocked...from the visible, stated nerfs and reworks to the stealth AI buffs, this game was no longer fun. I kept trying though, thinking something might change. But no, it only got worse. Friends I used to see online all the time no longer were, and one of my partners stopped playing as well. Then, another patch dropped which nerfed my arc weapons...WHAT THE ACTUAL FCK, BRO!!! Arrowhead has apparently always taken a stance against their playerbase due to a difference in views on gameplay, political views, and social justice matters...all of which is coming out now, publicly. Sorry AH, you blew it.
No endgame to speak of, it gets boring as hell real quick. We need some serious raids or big missions, like Deep Rock Galactic's Deep Dives, where you can unlock cool shit for your guns. Helldivers 2 went to shit the second they started nerfing guns and screwing with ammo capacity. Those warbonds are garbage too, just copy-paste weapons and armor reskin to make it a different variant but they're mostly still ass. I quit playing three months ago. The devs are obsessed with nerfing everything like it's some competitive shooter. This is a PvE horde shooter/extraction. They don't even test this shit, otherwise they'd see how stupid these changes are. Higher difficulty is just straight up BS 10 bile titans 20 chargers and 100 ads while all your shit is on cool down. Like you said its bad design.
I like how it came out that the railgun was "overpowered" because of a bug caused by cross-play. So they nerfed the railgun, and then they removed the bug that they nerfed it to offset. So they double nerfed things. They STILL haven't fixed how running away from enemies causes bullets to deal less damage. You deal more damage by running towards the enemy that you're shooting at. The pattern of double nerfs has continued. Not only did they reduce the ammo count on the breaker, but they also reworked fire. Breaker incendiary pellets deal no fire damage if ANY of the pellets in the round hit a piece of medium armor. Try it for yourself to see. They also increased armor and hp of all bug enemies. So the breaker incendiary ended up being quadruple nerfed when you factor in the loss of two magazines. Also, the hellpod optimization boost should be a ship module. There's no reason for this to take up a boost slot. The slot economy is already terrible with this game. Many strategem weapons require a backpack that your teammate has to wear to reload your weapon. Why can't they use your backpack for that?
Hellpod space optimization should've just been base kit from the get go. What a stupid artificial hurdle to place into the game. It would be a welcome change, especially now when nerfing ammo economy of various weapons is their apparent solution to meta picks.
And for the love of god why do bodies have collision? “Oh it’s realistic!” Yeah it’s realistic when the pelican lands on a hulk camping the landing zone, so his body clips through the pelican ramp and now we have a big hulk carcass literally blocking the entrance to the drop ship and making us lose samples.

The Pummeler nerf was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. It actually made fighting the bots enjoyable, which is almost impossible. I thought after I uninstalled I'd probably come back to the game at some point. Looks like that won't be anytime soon.
Having me carry a giant backpack for my Recoiless Rifle and have to be stationary for 10 seconds to reload while one single bile titan eats 4 of those shells like its nothing just sucks. Stalkers r suppossed to be scary if they sneak up on you but even if you see them coming from far away u still dead cos u do so little damage and they just ragdoll and stunlock you lmao
bruh , i lead alot of missions. and i can tell you, its mostly about working together or not. how many times lately i fight with my team, die and realize: theyre gone. thats why i died. titans are not meant to be fought alone. they are group targets. everyone shoots a grenade pistol, a commando shot or some quasar, a little ralicannonshot here and there and its easy. its about teamwork, at least on the higher diffs. and i like that they force us to teamwork.
I hate to admit it, but the devs' attitude towards their players, and their approach to "balancing", makes me feel like HD2 isn't gonna make it much longer

When HD2 came out, I thought it was going to be game of the year. Now I'm hoping Space Marine 2 will be good enough to take that title. Maybe the Salamanders will show up in the game to remind Arrowhead what a flamethrower is supposed to be like?
I still can’t understand why they nerfed (In my opinion) the best weapon against chargers because also (in my opinion) chargers are the toughest bug for me because they restrict your movement quite a bit especially when there is multiple and you also don’t really want to be using stratagems for chargers. While titans are strong and tanky they can be quite easily dodged you just have to be careful and with impalers I kinda just run forward and they can be killed quite easily.

I went from running an active group of 1k helldivers and making a 150 hour Helldivers themed radio station to only playing 3 times a week. There needs to be a complete restructuring of the social system in game to provide guilds / fleets with their own in game text / voice channels. They need to unblock all the people Arrowhead has been pretending to make a cape for over the past 3 months. They need to unNerf Everything, it isn't PVP or pay to win so the weapons should be fun to use and easy to kill foes with. They need to add Social hubs where everyone can interact, whole cities not just the bridge of a ship so we are sprinting circles for 2 hours like its Darktide. Explorable areas, expansion on using ships to explore uncharted space, establishing bases, fleets, and outposts. This game has so much potential, it's frustrating to see SONY, the devs, and the community mods taking turns on doing things that will clearly mess with the remaining player base.
I agree with most of this but asking for a bigger hub area while simultaneously complaining about dark tides hub is contradictory. Helldivers has a great hub where all you have to do is walk forward a few meters and everything you need is in a line instead of spread out over a city or whatever you seem to want which would take a massive amount of unnecessary dev resources and player time navigating. It also seems like you want to turn this coop shooter into some sort of space sim, if I can live in a fantasy land with unlimited resources id want those things too but at least try to be realistic and understand that this is primarily a coop shooter game and all of those requests would be a even more massive waste of resources.
@@Hunter_6601 I do agree with the sentiment and the dark tide hub was more of an example than a complaint, dark tide slaps ❤️ However I am lighting the flame under arrowhead after its CEO claimed the Helldivers title will eventually be as big as final fantasy games, you can’t make claims like that then turn around and block a continent of people while taking all the fun features out of the game. Perhaps I am asking for extra modes / features, that is how good the game is and how much potential it has to be more than just another coop shooter doing the bare minimum / the opposite of what the fan base is asking for.

We nerfed anti-tank weapons to not penetrate armor anymore. Also, Chargers now have armor on their ass because they were too easy to kill. Have fun bozos 👌😂👌
Hell, I quit 3 weeks after launch. You guys are late... better now than later. The game devs do not respect player time investment and money, so i moved on. Glad to see more folks doing the same.
Hd1 had a upgrade system similar to what u were talkin about. You could upgrade submachineguns to have armor piercing rojnds and a suppresor, add a scope to an AR etc.
I don't know what the devs did, but before the update I would get 85-90fps without dips below 80. Now I get 80-85fps with dips into the 30s. Absolutely insane.
That’s really strange cause I’m one of those people seeing a massive gain in performance. I wonder if it’s because I’ve got a really low end system? I can’t even begin to imagine what spaghetti code would cause improvements to low end but not mid to high end systems though.
I've seen a massive increase in performance with this update back up to what it was a few months ago, and I have a very high-end PC. But it doesn't matter when the gameplay is so frustrating - just deleted Helldivers today after hitting 400 hours because I can't take the ragdolling and insta-kills anymore.
@@bro3780 Same here. All three missions were going good, lots of progress and samples, and then it crashed on my PS5 about 10 minutes in. Same on my buddy’s PC. We both decided to take a break until they add some fixes to the update.

@@Cooldude98319I’m sorry but you’re making yourself sound like a level 5 player. Did you actually say that the incendiary shotgun and flamethrower are the only good options? Just shows the world that you’re not good at the game. I guess the only way for you to survive at level 10 is for you to use those weapons huh. I’m using none of those and I refuse to use them because they make the game too easy, even on level 10. Currently using non meta weapons like the eruptor and the arc thrower and I’m dominating the matches by completing all the side objectives, all the nests, the mega nest, and having the least amount of deaths. Ok, since you struggle to tell the strengths and weaknesses of weapons. Let’s start with a breakthrough of the flamethrower followed by the incendiary shotgun Flamethrower: Strengths: - easily kills every non armoured enemies in the game that spawns and makes 90% of the enemy composition each match - can easily kill chargers. Previously it was done by hitting the legs, now you have to hit its weak spot as designed. It can take out the sack in 1-2 seconds. You call that weak? - can burn the ground hence killing enemies before they even get a chance to get to you. Pretty much a medium range weapon if you know how to use its ability create environmental hazards - can also kill impaler very easily. If you’ve learnt how to dodge them (which I’m not gonna go through here, go watch tutorials), you can easily close the distance. Weaknesses: - can’t easily kill spewers. Counter to that: burn and run, and learn to use other weapons while they’re burning. A simple pistol grenade shot can kill them. You can also have them explode next to each other and they’ll kill each other. They also don’t spawn every game. - shriekers. Don’t know why you would use that against shriekers when your primary weapon already does a better job. They’re also very easy to dodge. - can be slow to turn: we have an armour counter to that - takes a bit time to charge before firing. You can cancel that charge by running sideways and holding the fire button. Fire comes out immediately - can’t stop hunters: except that you can. Burn the ground and the moment they jump at you, melee them back. They’ll die instantly from the punch and from the fire. And guess what, you can immediately go back to firing without the build up charge right after. Any enemies that get too close to me gets punched. I’ve covered all the weaknesses of the flamethrower and how you can easily counter them. Incendiary shotgun Strengths: - does high amount of hit damage combined with the increased fire damage. - is better than its normal variant - can kill an entire patrol without even getting close. Let the fire do the work - can easily kill enemies instantly if they get within the close range - gives you high mobility where you can just burn enemies and run (more on that later) - high ammo count that you never run out of bullets. - amazing against shriekers and 90% of the enemies - spam and win. Burn and win. - no skill needed. Noob friendly Weaknesses: - not good against spewers but once again, use the fire damage to weaken them and your secondary/support weapon should easily finish the job - not good against heavily armoured as expected. - after patch: you have to use your brain and keep an eye on the ammo economy. Counter play style: don’t spam the weapon and let the fire damage do its job. Learn to dodge and run and the only enemies that would eat at your ammo are the more armoured ones. There you go, strengths and weaknesses and how to counter those weaknesses even after this patch. So tell me, you claim level 5 to be the level of play testers. I didn’t play test the game during development but I played the patch when it came out. I don’t use those weapons because they’re too easy but I tested them anyway just to prove people wrong. As a level 10 player who spent almost 500 hours on the game, those weapons are currently in A-B tier. If you think they fell down to F, the problem is you and your inability to get good at the game. Remember what the devs said months ago, learn to use other stratagems and weapons. And get gud at the game

I'm going to be real. When the PSN drama happened, I thought it wasn't all that bad and we could all just log in to keep the game. It took a 10+ minute long video from a TH-camr explaining why this was bad and people didn't want to do it. 170+ countries now unable to access this game because of Sony. Now with this update, I saw the Steam reviews. I thought, "oh, maybe people are complaining about the fire nerf. They'll forget about it sooner or later." It took me this video to take a few steps back and stop glazing this game yet again. Part of it is Destiny 2 was the game I initially played a lot, but it forced open my allowance wallet A LOT. And Pete Parsons is an incompetent CEO for Bungie. Helldivers 2 was a breath of fresh air maybe a little too good to be true, to help distract me from my irl problems. $40 and I never have to get any other DLCs. That's the dream game. It's fun and it's better than Destiny. The campaign isn't written, but we actually impact the story? That's some pretty crazy shit for a game. I don't plan on uninstalling or refunding this for a while. But thank you so much for opening my eyes yet again to what's happening with this game. I still find it very fun and will continue playing it, but it was good to know what's going on and why people finally started review bombing about the nerfs. The negative reviews on steam is sad to see and these nerfs are probably not best but still, this was some good info. I casually play diff 5-7 on bugs and 4-6 on bots, so I may not be affected too much, but yeah. Sad stuff
Man, there's more games out there of a similar style, no DLC, and tons of fun: Earth Defence Force 5 is probs the closest, and I can say that it is waaaay more fun than Helldivers has been (not to mention that the air-raider makes me feel like what helldivers wanted me to feel like), Deep Rock Galactic is also there too.
I play on the same difficulties, I can say I feel a little bit of change, but I can still have fun doing what I do best. Really hope they fix the problems, it'd be nice to do 9 and 10 with my friends again.

5:09 i was a stealth player. And as more updates came out, it became impossible to have fun with it. I stopped playing after they released the random airship patrols, legitimately the most annoying, unfun thing i ever had to deal with in a videogame
Yep, I've left too. I bought that game so I can have fun in it while killing bugs and screaming "FOR DEMOCRACY!!!" at the same time. Now I don't feel fun, don't feel "The democracy", nothing. Just a bad game.
I would want it to stun literally everything and maybe people would actually use it. I tried it on a tank and brushed it off. You would think that ems would prevent the tank from rotating its turret or prevent its targeting like a real ems.
Older gamer here. You hit on all the frustrations I have with HD2. Unlocked all of the new warbond weapons yesterday, and then uninstalled the game after the 2nd mission. This is the only game in my Steam library where I scream WTF at the TV. Also... RELOAD DAMNIT. Only thing you left out was the games straight up defects and crashes.
I feel like Arowhead really wants to be the next souls like, but people really want it to be a power fantasy. I don’t think Arowheads is going to listen and they’re just going to keep nerfing stuff till the game is unplayable.

I agree man, when this game first dropped me and my friends were loving it. But its like the devs went out of their way to make the game not fun to play which is crazy. They literally had a golden goose and they slaughtered it.

No. We all know what the reason is - to re-release each slight modification as a new weapon for players to grind out and purchase separately and pad out the warbonds that they were contractually obligated to squeeze out once a month. Literally doing the 'cutting pieces of the game out to sell it back to you later' trope.
When Helldivers 2 first came out, my friends were so into it, and I wanted to get into it so badly, too, at the time my PC was dying and I'm still trying to save up. I told them that by the time I got into it, it'd die out, and they assured me that it wouldn't. Welp, none of them play it anymore, and even our discord channel for it has been dead for about 3 months. Sometimes, it hurts to be right. But I'm kinda glad too, that whole Sony thing, and the fact they knew but didn't tell players was scummy, I refused to buy it and support that.
I don't know for how long I said that now. They are sabotaging their game because they earn MORE MONEY if they have less server upkeep costs, so less players. You paid the game. YOU ALREADY PAID THE GAME. If you keep liking it, you keep playing it. Which means that you will not do microtransactions because you'll have enough super credits. Each person really enjoying the game is less money for them. This is live service games in a nutshell.

I actually casually enjoyed Helldive until this update, but I don't know what the hell they did to Chargers They not only seem more spongey, but I'm routinely getting double tapped in their charges now So if I get knocked down, I just die even at full health And if the game isn't giving me the vibration or audio cues, so they just sneak up and one-tap me, it's throwing 2-3 of them at me at a time...TF?
The sound design is kinda bad. It's better on the bot front but against bugs the chargers, spewers, even the bile titan are weirdly quiet. Bile titans will walk up behind and instead of sounding like a 3 story building is walking up on you the sounds just get lost in the noise.

Same here! One or two nerfs reverted isn't enough. I need to see a new and better philosophy in how they balance the game. In the meantime, I have plenty of other fun games to play. :)
@@normanbestboi9117 it's bad game design dude. The AI is brain-dead, talking about tactics. Every enemy in the game moves towards you attacking once in range. Despite all the nerfs the game is brain-dead easy if you run to obj, throw red ball, run to other POI, throw red ball, run back to first obj and if everything is dead or despawned complete obj if not throw red ball. The enemy will spawn anywhere you aren't looking , which severely limits your tactical options. You can't scout a patrol route to avoid it, it will walk in a straight line before despwaninv and spawning another one randomly walking in a different straight line. Most of the weapons are redundant. There's no end game content. So many issues and yet it could have been great. Instead it's down to 5% player base barely a week after their most impactful update. Half of the people who rejoined have already left. I'm still here coping hoping they'll change lol but idk I'm not playing rn
Wild to think a railgun nerf was the beginning of the end for them. They lost 50k players that all collectively said “I’ll come back when my railgun is fixed” they never fixed it. And then the nerfs started rolling out. And the 400,000 became the 20,000
I was killing it on Helldive Difficulty with Blitzer and Shield backpack, grenade pistol and a Quasar cannon. Then a flamethrower. Now I'm forced to use stratagems I don't like to maybe get close to dealing with all the Behemoth chargers and Bile titans. Unplayable. I really enjoyed playing 9, back when the Quasar cannon was great. It was a dance with the enemies. Sometimes I brought the Breaker Incindiary. Now that fun time is over (again)
@@Sal-fg3rs no, it was a 1 shot headshot before with the Quasar, with many enemies and the charger moving, maybe 2-3 of them and the charge up time of the Quasar it wasn't overpowered in any way. Now it takes double
I loved Helldive difficulty on Bugs, it was the right amount of fun and stress, and you could have loads of fun playing with friends. Now, my friends and I have to play on Extreme difficulty for Bugs or else we get burnt out and stop having fun and start raging at the game.
@@caleblausen8895 If I can give you a suggestion my friend, the Grenade launcher did the trick for me, to be abled to beat 10 with a good team. In combination with light medic armor and supply pack. And with the Stim Booster it's even better. Just Stim once you take damage, I think my record was 42 stims in a game haha Just focus the grenade launcher on the charger buts, stun grenades to slow them down enough. Or shoot below them from the front to explode their behind. Afterwards if another launcher is ready, maybe even supply pack, you can really spam the grenades and kill a lot of enemies.
Im going through the 5 stages of grief with the balancing of this game, I’ve been in denial since the original bad balance changes but with this update, I thought this would fix all that, it made it worse, catapulting me through a quick bit of anger and into bargaining “I could just use different weapons right? They may not be the Same but they still work right? RIGHT?! Then depression, thinking “why don’t they just listen to their community, this game could be a perfect one but the devs prefer to kill it”. and then acceptance (not) I’ve stopped playing the game completely, arrowhead, LISTEN TO YOUR DAMN COMMUNITY! also your upgrade system idea genuinely seems like a great idea that would help make progression feel more like actual progress

8:37 dude I’ve been saying that forever they’re flooding the game with clone guns instead of having distinct guns you can modify I even used the breaker as an example. You start with the basic breaker and you can then modify it, you want fire DoT add phosphorus ammo want explosive breaker add explosive ammo stuff like that!

6:43 this would also help reduce the amount of little squares when selecting your stratagem. Some strats are just pure upgrades and I don’t understand why it’s not just merged. Like mg sentry > Gatling and then I’ll stop choosing the wrong Strat because of the 50 icons with only small variations (ik it’s a smaller issue right now but if they release more strats we’re just going to have a wall of icons). And same goes for the weapons, breaker spray n pray > breaker > breaker incen. Would really clean up the UI and would make more sense from a progression pov
The fix for MG Sentry vs Gatling sentry is so easy and they just refuse to do it. Give the MG Sentry 3-4x the ammo it has now, leave the Gatling alone. Do you need supporting fire for days? MG. Raw Dakka? Gatling. Poof, done. It's not fething hard.
Asian robot is even done playing this game. He quit a while ago even before the update and I commented on his live streams that are you ever going to go back. He said nope they're just going to keep nerfing stuff
I've completed so many Super Helldives on Bots as a level 70. They reduced the ammo in the breaker because it's a primary not a strategem. They want you to use strategems. The ammo nerf is a good change. You can still clear chaff effectively, you just have to think first before jumping into a fight with chargers and bile titans. You actually need to use stategems and strategy now. You can't just agro everything on the map. At least not on Helldive. Maybe you should stick to level 7 and save level 9 for people who know how to not run out of ammo trying to kill a charger with a shotgun? Also, it doesn't take an entire clip to kill a stalker. You're not aiming your shots. I can kill a stalker with 3-4 shots from the revolver. The flamethrower is still powerful, I've won so many Helldive missions with the nerfed flamethrower. You just have to shoot them in their weakspot. You can't roast a charger from the front anymore. You actually have to use strategy and skill. Now I do agree, that they need more tools to control hordes and make it possible to get the back side of a charger, but there is a way to kill them with a flamethrower. I suppose the answer to that is to use the stun tools, like orbital EMS strike, EMS motor, and stun grenades. I haven't gotten that deep yet, but the game is full of stuff people aren't using because they don't take the time to actually learn the game. Also, the Commando is not a better EAT. The Commando is less powerful, and has a longer cooldown. It is similar, and maybe the EAT could use more specialization, but I can't one shot Hulks, tanks, turrets, etc with a Commando. I can one shot all of that stuff with an EAT. The clear problem here, is that you don't know how to play the game. It sounds like you barely play it all. Just from the fact that you don't even realize that an EAT is more powerful than a Commando.
They tell us to use stratagems then make everyone have insanely long cool downs, then have even more modifiers that make stratagems take longer or just straight up make you unable to call them in for a time. And have an objective that stops all stratagems. I would agree with that if the cool downs were more similar to what they were in hd1
As someone else pointed out, AH are the type that if you bring you car into the garage with 3 flat tyres and 1 good one, they'll make the last good one flat so the car is balanced, I've wanted so bad to keep the love I've always had for this game but now even if AH said they were gonna make things better I don't know if I could trust them after they've straight lied about not nerfing anymore

I uninstalled and wiped everything as well and this was my game of the year a couple months ago. The fact that they tried to sell a premium war bond that could cost real money and completely Nerf all of the flame throwers when the war bond is fucking flame based. oh if the breaker had a module that you can unlock when you inspect the weapon that makes your weapon shoot incendiary rounds or let you pack more pellets per shell but loose pen power. Or even make the punisher be able to shoot slugs instead of pellets. where you still have two very real guns a pump action shotgun and an AA shotgun

Remember when all it took was a tweet from Sony for people to change their negative ratings to positive on steam? The people in the affected countries still aren't able to play the game and that was all that really mattered. I remembered after seeing that, I realized how good Sony's PR is and how doomed HD2 was. That one Sony rep in the room gotta be giving PR advice thinking Arrowhead is just as good, or Arrowhead learned that saying anything good and then controlling the engagement works. They just forgot to be creative with it so it doesn't trigger people's pattern recognition.

What pisses me off about the fire damage not working on armored enemies is that flamethrowers were specifically fucking employed because of how well they worked on armored vehicles at that point in history. Insulation on these vehicles was practically non-existent- and so armies would use flamethrowers because it would not only cook the people inside, but the fire itself would find ways into the cabin.
Yup, they dont know shit about realism, and even so who the fuik care about said ,,realizm", în a game, its a game let me have fun.

There is only one player who still plays Helldivers 2 left named Shakespeare.
He only plays solo on level 5 because he can't find any other players to join with because he is the last player left.
They AH devs notice that 100% of the players are using one single type of weapons load out.
Shakespeare has all his current weapons load out castrated into uselessness, something he has experienced multiple times by now.
Finally unable to take it anymore, Shakespeare writes the most emotionally driven piece of writing called "Arrowhead and Shakespeare" and sends it to AH.
The writing is a masterpiece. It shows raw hatred, revenge, pure unadulterated emotion and the true nature of despair.
CEO of AH releases a statement: "I love how the Helldivers 2 community loves this game so much to be so emotional, it's so much better than not caring!"
Shakespeare is so distressed he kills himself and the active player count of Helldivers 2 drops to zero.
The devs and CEO of AH, who had been feeding on negative emotional energy of thousands, are finally starved to the point of desperation, and retreat to the far northern mountains of Sweden to join Grendel, hiding deep within a mountain cave, where they will sleep for 1000 years.

Seriously, I had so so so much faith in this game. I’ve been game switching past few months, play a game for 2 mins get bored and switch until I get bored and turn the console off. This game hooked me, felt like OG halo days or Gears of war. Just felt great and they fucked it all up. Literally have been sitting on max spending points since it came out. My faith is gone for gaming.

A list of weapons I used to really really like using before they got gutted:
1. Arc thrower
2. Vanilla breaker
3. Eruptor
4. Flame thrower
5. Pummeler
6. Laser cannon at a brief point could quickly break charger and bile titan backs but nobody talks about it because it got stealth nerfed before anyone could notice.
Eruptor was my favorite weapon for like a weekbefore they decided to kill it.
Breaker was my day one ride or die - after ammo nerf it just wasnt fun for me and i didnt find gun to have fun with since then
the pummeler is literally unchanged, the laser canon is stronger than it was also
The Eruptor was my gun!! for like a week....then I woke up one day and it was completely gutted, nerfed to the absolute dirt and the actual mechanic ruined and removed....what a nightmare, I paid 40 dollars for this game, why are you nerfing the weapon I AM CURRENTLY ENJOYING?!?!?!....and it is still to this day a worthless piece of trash, left in the menu for no reason other than to remind me that at one time, it was a useful gun, for a moment, a very brief moment. But believe me when I tell you this game used to be fun!

Ikr?! I was expecting so much more with the update but there was... literally nothing more than they said in the trailer. In fact, there was less - no automaton command ships or snipers which were shown. Honestly I hope this game dies (more than it already has) because Arrowhead needs to learn a lesson.
I think the "and more" was them HARD shadow buffing the game because before the patch hell dives weren't easy but they were manageable and then post patch they suddenly become impossible to win after trying multiple times with high leveld randoms

@@zanderandrus7074Bug missions are impossible to win consistently now thanks to the IMPALER, DEMON OF RAGDOLLING, 500 hunters, 5 Chargers, and 3 Bile Titans spawning randomly at breaches. Bots feel a lot more fair than bugs as of this update.

I will never understand AH. They started with the intent to mine for coal but found a gold mine. But instead of harvesting the gold they are collapsing the mine. It just begs the question why? It’s like they are trying to tank their own game.
They probably didn't anticipate the game to perform so well. And right now, with all the cash they earned, I think that they don't care about HD2 that much because they may cook new game that they really wanted to make.
I've also heard that the game engine is awful to work with, and they are only studio that is using it right now.

However I do believe AH should be concerned about Space Marines 2 and later in 2025 Monster Hunter Wild if they want to stay competitive. They need to make some big plays now to get at least good faith and encourage players to come back.

All these changes do is just make it more annoying because you have to put more bullets into things, that’s it. The objectives are still as easy as they were on earlier levels, the enemies still act the exact same way, my damage just goes down and that makes things tedious not difficult.

It’s like the developers are upset that people can actually “win” against the odds. It’s an uphill battle on 7+ and they have you out there getting one or two shot by everything because the “PVE” enemies can headshot you., drop 20 armored enemies at once, while your stratagems are on cooldown.
Not evening mentioning you have half a second to stop an enemy from calling reinforcements to start the whole thing over again. Hope you still have a round in your clip to stop that

They do play mostly on Diff 5 - with only 3 devs actually able to run a full 9 lvl Helldive... This explains a bit, but even if they cannot pull the Helldive, then at least listen to one's who do!

No, the playerbase is disconnected from the Helldivers IP. Mainly because 90% of them never played the first game. Helldivers 1 was absolutely brutal on higher difficulties and absolutely required everyone work as a team. These casual players who have a fit over every tiny nerf have no clue about team play. If you all work together during a mission you can be massively overpowered. The sweaty tryhards who came from garbage pvp games are absolutely destroying this game.

My company partners and I found great joy in Helldivers 2 when it released. It was fun, made us work together, and even brought someone who didn't play video games aboard because it was fun and raw. However, I was playing one night, grinding medals so I could unlock the first two Warbonds and I noticed something strange when trying to connect with another friend I made through this game "User is playing a different version of this game." I saw that, checked Steam, and saw I had an update pending for HD2. I quit the game, updated it, and holy crap did everything change. From this one patch, we saw difficulty go up tremendously, even though everything was unlocked...from the visible, stated nerfs and reworks to the stealth AI buffs, this game was no longer fun. I kept trying though, thinking something might change. But no, it only got worse. Friends I used to see online all the time no longer were, and one of my partners stopped playing as well. Then, another patch dropped which nerfed my arc weapons...WHAT THE ACTUAL FCK, BRO!!! Arrowhead has apparently always taken a stance against their playerbase due to a difference in views on gameplay, political views, and social justice matters...all of which is coming out now, publicly. Sorry AH, you blew it.

Helldivers 2 went to shit the second they started nerfing guns and screwing with ammo capacity. Those warbonds are garbage too, just copy-paste weapons and armor reskin to make it a different variant but they're mostly still ass. I quit playing three months ago.
The devs are obsessed with nerfing everything like it's some competitive shooter. This is a PvE horde shooter/extraction. They don't even test this shit, otherwise they'd see how stupid these changes are. Higher difficulty is just straight up BS 10 bile titans 20 chargers and 100 ads while all your shit is on cool down. I like how it came out that the railgun was "overpowered" because of a bug caused by cross-play. So they nerfed the railgun, and then they removed the bug that they nerfed it to offset. So they double nerfed things. They STILL haven't fixed how running away from enemies causes bullets to deal less damage. You deal more damage by running towards the enemy that you're shooting at.
The pattern of double nerfs has continued. Not only did they reduce the ammo count on the breaker, but they also reworked fire. Breaker incendiary pellets deal no fire damage if ANY of the pellets in the round hit a piece of medium armor. Try it for yourself to see. They also increased armor and hp of all bug enemies. So the breaker incendiary ended up being quadruple nerfed when you factor in the loss of two magazines.
Also, the hellpod optimization boost should be a ship module. There's no reason for this to take up a boost slot. The slot economy is already terrible with this game. Many strategem weapons require a backpack that your teammate has to wear to reload your weapon. Why can't they use your backpack for that?
Hellpod space optimization should've just been base kit from the get go. What a stupid artificial hurdle to place into the game. It would be a welcome change, especially now when nerfing ammo economy of various weapons is their apparent solution to meta picks.
This is live-service for you. Only buy games that are released finished. Dont buy into any promise for "continued support" down the line

The Pummeler nerf was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. It actually made fighting the bots enjoyable, which is almost impossible. I thought after I uninstalled I'd probably come back to the game at some point. Looks like that won't be anytime soon.

Having me carry a giant backpack for my Recoiless Rifle and have to be stationary for 10 seconds to reload while one single bile titan eats 4 of those shells like its nothing just sucks. Stalkers r suppossed to be scary if they sneak up on you but even if you see them coming from far away u still dead cos u do so little damage and they just ragdoll and stunlock you lmao
bruh , i lead alot of missions. and i can tell you, its mostly about working together or not. how many times lately i fight with my team, die and realize: theyre gone. thats why i died. titans are not meant to be fought alone. they are group targets. everyone shoots a grenade pistol, a commando shot or some quasar, a little ralicannonshot here and there and its easy. its about teamwork, at least on the higher diffs. and i like that they force us to teamwork.

I still can’t understand why they nerfed (In my opinion) the best weapon against chargers because also (in my opinion) chargers are the toughest bug for me because they restrict your movement quite a bit especially when there is multiple and you also don’t really want to be using stratagems for chargers. While titans are strong and tanky they can be quite easily dodged you just have to be careful and with impalers I kinda just run forward and they can be killed quite easily.

I went from running an active group of 1k helldivers and making a 150 hour Helldivers themed radio station to only playing 3 times a week.
There needs to be a complete restructuring of the social system in game to provide guilds / fleets with their own in game text / voice channels.
They need to unblock all the people Arrowhead has been pretending to make a cape for over the past 3 months.
They need to unNerf Everything, it isn't PVP or pay to win so the weapons should be fun to use and easy to kill foes with.
They need to add Social hubs where everyone can interact, whole cities not just the bridge of a ship so we are sprinting circles for 2 hours like its Darktide. Explorable areas, expansion on using ships to explore uncharted space, establishing bases, fleets, and outposts.
This game has so much potential, it's frustrating to see SONY, the devs, and the community mods taking turns on doing things that will clearly mess with the remaining player base.

I agree with most of this but asking for a bigger hub area while simultaneously complaining about dark tides hub is contradictory.
Helldivers has a great hub where all you have to do is walk forward a few meters and everything you need is in a line instead of spread out over a city or whatever you seem to want which would take a massive amount of unnecessary dev resources and player time navigating.
It also seems like you want to turn this coop shooter into some sort of space sim, if I can live in a fantasy land with unlimited resources id want those things too but at least try to be realistic and understand that this is primarily a coop shooter game and all of those requests would be a even more massive waste of resources.

Helldivers 2 Escalation of nerfs
Hd1 had a upgrade system similar to what u were talkin about. You could upgrade submachineguns to have armor piercing rojnds and a suppresor, add a scope to an AR etc.
I don't know what the devs did, but before the update I would get 85-90fps without dips below 80. Now I get 80-85fps with dips into the 30s. Absolutely insane.
I have seen worse performance, too, but all I see is claims that things are better.
That’s really strange cause I’m one of those people seeing a massive gain in performance. I wonder if it’s because I’ve got a really low end system? I can’t even begin to imagine what spaghetti code would cause improvements to low end but not mid to high end systems though.
I've seen a massive increase in performance with this update back up to what it was a few months ago, and I have a very high-end PC. But it doesn't matter when the gameplay is so frustrating - just deleted Helldivers today after hitting 400 hours because I can't take the ragdolling and insta-kills anymore.

Just shows the world that you’re not good at the game. I guess the only way for you to survive at level 10 is for you to use those weapons huh.
I’m using none of those and I refuse to use them because they make the game too easy, even on level 10. Currently using non meta weapons like the eruptor and the arc thrower and I’m dominating the matches by completing all the side objectives, all the nests, the mega nest, and having the least amount of deaths.
Ok, since you struggle to tell the strengths and weaknesses of weapons. Let’s start with a breakthrough of the flamethrower followed by the incendiary shotgun
Flamethrower:
Strengths:
- easily kills every non armoured enemies in the game that spawns and makes 90% of the enemy composition each match
- can easily kill chargers. Previously it was done by hitting the legs, now you have to hit its weak spot as designed. It can take out the sack in 1-2 seconds. You call that weak?
- can burn the ground hence killing enemies before they even get a chance to get to you. Pretty much a medium range weapon if you know how to use its ability create environmental hazards
- can also kill impaler very easily. If you’ve learnt how to dodge them (which I’m not gonna go through here, go watch tutorials), you can easily close the distance.
Weaknesses:
- can’t easily kill spewers. Counter to that: burn and run, and learn to use other weapons while they’re burning. A simple pistol grenade shot can kill them. You can also have them explode next to each other and they’ll kill each other. They also don’t spawn every game.
- shriekers. Don’t know why you would use that against shriekers when your primary weapon already does a better job. They’re also very easy to dodge.
- can be slow to turn: we have an armour counter to that
- takes a bit time to charge before firing. You can cancel that charge by running sideways and holding the fire button. Fire comes out immediately
- can’t stop hunters: except that you can. Burn the ground and the moment they jump at you, melee them back. They’ll die instantly from the punch and from the fire. And guess what, you can immediately go back to firing without the build up charge right after. Any enemies that get too close to me gets punched.
I’ve covered all the weaknesses of the flamethrower and how you can easily counter them.
Incendiary shotgun
Strengths:
- does high amount of hit damage combined with the increased fire damage.
- is better than its normal variant
- can kill an entire patrol without even getting close. Let the fire do the work
- can easily kill enemies instantly if they get within the close range
- gives you high mobility where you can just burn enemies and run (more on that later)
- high ammo count that you never run out of bullets.
- amazing against shriekers and 90% of the enemies
- spam and win. Burn and win.

Weaknesses:
- not good against spewers but once again, use the fire damage to weaken them and your secondary/support weapon should easily finish the job
- not good against heavily armoured as expected.
- after patch: you have to use your brain and keep an eye on the ammo economy. Counter play style: don’t spam the weapon and let the fire damage do its job. Learn to dodge and run and the only enemies that would eat at your ammo are the more armoured ones.
There you go, strengths and weaknesses and how to counter those weaknesses even after this patch. So tell me, you claim level 5 to be the level of play testers. I didn’t play test the game during development but I played the patch when it came out. I don’t use those weapons because they’re too easy but I tested them anyway just to prove people wrong. As a level 10 player who spent almost 500 hours on the game, those weapons are currently in A-B tier. If you think they fell down to F, the problem is you and your inability to get good at the game.
Remember what the devs said months ago, learn to use other stratagems and weapons. And get gud at the game

When the PSN drama happened, I thought it wasn't all that bad and we could all just log in to keep the game. It took a 10+ minute long video from a TH-camr explaining why this was bad and people didn't want to do it. 170+ countries now unable to access this game because of Sony.
Now with this update, I saw the Steam reviews. I thought, "oh, maybe people are complaining about the fire nerf. They'll forget about it sooner or later."
It took me this video to take a few steps back and stop glazing this game yet again. Part of it is Destiny 2 was the game I initially played a lot, but it forced open my allowance wallet A LOT. And Pete Parsons is an incompetent CEO for Bungie. Helldivers 2 was a breath of fresh air maybe a little too good to be true, to help distract me from my irl problems.
$40 and I never have to get any other DLCs. That's the dream game. It's fun and it's better than Destiny. The campaign isn't written, but we actually impact the story? That's some pretty crazy shit for a game.
I don't plan on uninstalling or refunding this for a while. But thank you so much for opening my eyes yet again to what's happening with this game. I still find it very fun and will continue playing it, but it was good to know what's going on and why people finally started review bombing about the nerfs. The negative reviews on steam is sad to see and these nerfs are probably not best but still, this was some good info. I casually play diff 5-7 on bugs and 4-6 on bots, so I may not be affected too much, but yeah. Sad stuff
Man, there's more games out there of a similar style, no DLC, and tons of fun: Earth Defence Force 5 is probs the closest, and I can say that it is waaaay more fun than Helldivers has been (not to mention that the air-raider makes me feel like what helldivers wanted me to feel like), Deep Rock Galactic is also there too.
I play on the same difficulties, I can say I feel a little bit of change, but I can still have fun doing what I do best. Really hope they fix the problems, it'd be nice to do 9 and 10 with my friends again.

Play Deep Rock Galactic instead, the community is nicer, the bugs die faster, and you actually get stronger as you progress.

There’s only that many disappointments people can take before giving up entirely. The honeymoon phase is long over for the playerbase and yet the devs keep doing the same things that end up disappointing us.

I saw a blue streak of light..could have been my video card glitching, but i swear, The Illuminate are coming!" F Helldivers. I uninstalled, touch grass, and pay for coke and hookers now

Yep, I've left too. I bought that game so I can have fun in it while killing bugs and screaming "FOR DEMOCRACY!!!" at the same time. Now I don't feel fun, don't feel "The democracy", nothing. Just a bad game.

I would want it to stun literally everything and maybe people would actually use it. I tried it on a tank and brushed it off. You would think that ems would prevent the tank from rotating its turret or prevent its targeting like a real ems.
Lol the game was on easy mode when the flash bang grenades could stun BTs.

Older gamer here. You hit on all the frustrations I have with HD2. Unlocked all of the new warbond weapons yesterday, and then uninstalled the game after the 2nd mission. This is the only game in my Steam library where I scream WTF at the TV. Also... RELOAD DAMNIT. Only thing you left out was the games straight up defects and crashes.
I feel like Arowhead really wants to be the next souls like, but people really want it to be a power fantasy. I don’t think Arowheads is going to listen and they’re just going to keep nerfing stuff till the game is unplayable.
i don't understand how this video makes any sense...me and my friends run and gun max difficulty and we still never lose any mission. The game is too damn easy...I don't understand what more people want? invincibility? infinite ammo?

I agree man, when this game first dropped me and my friends were loving it. But its like the devs went out of their way to make the game not fun to play which is crazy. They literally had a golden goose and they slaughtered it.
I was hyped about the new warbond, hoping they would fix some stuff. Nope, uninstalled the day before. It completely broke me; so tired, so frustrated, and then on top of it all the community's/dev's toxicity just pushed me over the edge. I now hate the game, hate the supporters of the game, and hate the devs. I just want to see them fail now.

No. We all know what the reason is - to re-release each slight modification as a new weapon for players to grind out and purchase separately and pad out the warbonds that they were contractually obligated to squeeze out once a month.

When Helldivers 2 first came out, my friends were so into it, and I wanted to get into it so badly, too, at the time my PC was dying and I'm still trying to save up. I told them that by the time I got into it, it'd die out, and they assured me that it wouldn't. Welp, none of them play it anymore, and even our discord channel for it has been dead for about 3 months. Sometimes, it hurts to be right. But I'm kinda glad too, that whole Sony thing, and the fact they knew but didn't tell players was scummy, I refused to buy it and support that.

You paid the game. YOU ALREADY PAID THE GAME. If you keep liking it, you keep playing it. Which means that you will not do microtransactions because you'll have enough super credits.

The sound design is kinda bad. It's better on the bot front but against bugs the chargers, spewers, even the bile titan are weirdly quiet. Bile titans will walk up behind and instead of sounding like a 3 story building is walking up on you the sounds just get lost in the noise.
@@jacobantaya7423 it's insane how the bile titans don't have large sounding footsteps at all? They're so quiet, you should be able to tell where they are at all times from sound alone

@@normanbestboi9117 it's bad game design dude. The AI is brain-dead, talking about tactics. Every enemy in the game moves towards you attacking once in range. Despite all the nerfs the game is brain-dead easy if you run to obj, throw red ball, run to other POI, throw red ball, run back to first obj and if everything is dead or despawned complete obj if not throw red ball. The enemy will spawn anywhere you aren't looking , which severely limits your tactical options. You can't scout a patrol route to avoid it, it will walk in a straight line before despwaninv and spawning another one randomly walking in a different straight line. Most of the weapons are redundant. There's no end game content. So many issues and yet it could have been great. Instead it's down to 5% player base barely a week after their most impactful update. Half of the people who rejoined have already left. I'm still here coping hoping they'll change lol but idk I'm not playing rn
Wild to think a railgun nerf was the beginning of the end for them.

I was killing it on Helldive Difficulty with Blitzer and Shield backpack, grenade pistol and a Quasar cannon. Then a flamethrower. Now I'm forced to use stratagems I don't like to maybe get close to dealing with all the Behemoth chargers and Bile titans. Unplayable.
I really enjoyed playing 9, back when the Quasar cannon was great. It was a dance with the enemies. Sometimes I brought the Breaker Incindiary. Now that fun time is over (again)
Does the charger armor deflect quasar now?
@@Sal-fg3rs no, it was a 1 shot headshot before with the Quasar, with many enemies and the charger moving, maybe 2-3 of them and the charge up time of the Quasar it wasn't overpowered in any way. Now it takes double
I loved Helldive difficulty on Bugs, it was the right amount of fun and stress, and you could have loads of fun playing with friends.
Now, my friends and I have to play on Extreme difficulty for Bugs or else we get burnt out and stop having fun and start raging at the game.
The quasar cannon has become an anti-air weapon and that's it. It was so fun to time your shots to take out a charger, but now it's just not viable.
@@caleblausen8895 If I can give you a suggestion my friend, the Grenade launcher did the trick for me, to be abled to beat 10 with a good team. In combination with light medic armor and supply pack. And with the Stim Booster it's even better. Just Stim once you take damage, I think my record was 42 stims in a game haha
Just focus the grenade launcher on the charger buts, stun grenades to slow them down enough. Or shoot below them from the front to explode their behind. Afterwards if another launcher is ready, maybe even supply pack, you can really spam the grenades and kill a lot of enemies.
Im going through the 5 stages of grief with the balancing of this game, I’ve been in denial since the original bad balance changes but with this update, I thought this would fix all that, it made it worse, catapulting me through a quick bit of anger and into bargaining “I could just use different weapons right? They may not be the Same but they still work right? RIGHT?! Then depression, thinking “why don’t they just listen to their community, this game could be a perfect one but the devs prefer to kill it”. and then acceptance (not) I’ve stopped playing the game completely, arrowhead, LISTEN TO YOUR DAMN COMMUNITY!
also your upgrade system idea genuinely seems like a great idea that would help make progression feel more like actual progress
same man....same....been here since launch and I've seen how the game just gets worse in basically every way possible and I just dont care anymore, I'm tired of using fun weapons and then seeing them get nerfed, so I move onto the next fun thing and that gets nerfed and so on and so forth
8:37 dude I’ve been saying that forever they’re flooding the game with clone guns instead of having distinct guns you can modify I even used the breaker as an example. You start with the basic breaker and you can then modify it, you want fire DoT add phosphorus ammo want explosive breaker add explosive ammo stuff like that!

6:43 this would also help reduce the amount of little squares when selecting your stratagem. Some strats are just pure upgrades and I don’t understand why it’s not just merged. Like mg sentry > Gatling and then I’ll stop choosing the wrong Strat because of the 50 icons with only small variations (ik it’s a smaller issue right now but if they release more strats we’re just going to have a wall of icons). And same goes for the weapons, breaker spray n pray > breaker > breaker incen. Would really clean up the UI and would make more sense from a progression pov
The fix for MG Sentry vs Gatling sentry is so easy and they just refuse to do it. Give the MG Sentry 3-4x the ammo it has now, leave the Gatling alone. Do you need supporting fire for days? MG. Raw Dakka? Gatling. Poof, done. It's not fething hard.
Asian robot is even done playing this game. He quit a while ago even before the update and I commented on his live streams that are you ever going to go back. He said nope they're just going to keep nerfing stuff

I've completed so many Super Helldives on Bots as a level 70. They reduced the ammo in the breaker because it's a primary not a strategem. They want you to use strategems. The ammo nerf is a good change. You can still clear chaff effectively, you just have to think first before jumping into a fight with chargers and bile titans. You actually need to use stategems and strategy now. You can't just agro everything on the map. At least not on Helldive. Maybe you should stick to level 7 and save level 9 for people who know how to not run out of ammo trying to kill a charger with a shotgun? Also, it doesn't take an entire clip to kill a stalker. You're not aiming your shots. I can kill a stalker with 3-4 shots from the revolver. The flamethrower is still powerful, I've won so many Helldive missions with the nerfed flamethrower. You just have to shoot them in their weakspot. You can't roast a charger from the front anymore. You actually have to use strategy and skill. Now I do agree, that they need more tools to control hordes and make it possible to get the back side of a charger, but there is a way to kill them with a flamethrower. I suppose the answer to that is to use the stun tools, like orbital EMS strike, EMS motor, and stun grenades. I haven't gotten that deep yet, but the game is full of stuff people aren't using because they don't take the time to actually learn the game.
Also, the Commando is not a better EAT. The Commando is less powerful, and has a longer cooldown. It is similar, and maybe the EAT could use more specialization, but I can't one shot Hulks, tanks, turrets, etc with a Commando. I can one shot all of that stuff with an EAT.
The clear problem here, is that you don't know how to play the game. It sounds like you barely play it all. Just from the fact that you don't even realize that an EAT is more powerful than a Commando.
They tell us to use stratagems then make everyone have insanely long cool downs, then have even more modifiers that make stratagems take longer or just straight up make you unable to call them in for a time. And have an objective that stops all stratagems. I would agree with that if the cool downs were more similar to what they were in hd1
As someone else pointed out, AH are the type that if you bring you car into the garage with 3 flat tyres and 1 good one, they'll make the last good one flat so the car is balanced, I've wanted so bad to keep the love I've always had for this game but now even if AH said they were gonna make things better I don't know if I could trust them after they've straight lied about not nerfing anymore

Look at helldivers 1 and its easy to see that they are effectively toddlers stumbling around in unfamiliar waters, theres a big technological jump between the two. Too much success for people that cant handle it

I uninstalled and wiped everything as well and this was my game of the year a couple months ago. The fact that they tried to sell a premium war bond that could cost real money and completely Nerf all of the flame throwers when the war bond is fucking flame based. And they swore up and down they wouldn't do this again. I'm not really interested in playing the game how they want when they want how they want

oh if the breaker had a module that you can unlock when you inspect the weapon that makes your weapon shoot incendiary rounds or let you pack more pellets per shell but loose pen power. Or even make the punisher be able to shoot slugs instead of pellets.
