Unpopular opinion but I think the buffs the devs are gonna include in the next update are too strong. The rail gun is getting stronger than it was pre nerf
@@br-sb6vu The railgun was never too strong though. The problem was always the other weapons lagging behind. Now the Railgun is just one strategem among many that can deal with heavies. It actually doesn't see all that much use, people seem to prefer the EAT, Recoilless, Quasar, and Laser. And the game is still plenty difficult too so I think everything worked out pretty well. I think right now, the Quasar in particular does the Railgun's job much better. They both require about the same amount of time to charge up, though the Quasar does so without the risk. The Quasar does WAY more damage, able to 1-shot Bile Titans and Charges just by shooting them generally in the head area, 1-shot Hulks in the faceplate, and 1-shot tanks in the heat sinks. The Rail takes like 4 good accurate hits to kill a Titan, maybe you can do it in fewer with perfect timing and aim, but I can't. And the Quasar can kill Bot Factories from an unlimited distance
They can't. It's a cultural Rot within Arrowhead. They only care about their vision, refuse pr, refuse profession communication, and talk out both sides of their mouth for feedback. It started with magika. At launch it was similar. Tons of insane overpowered spells. They nerfed the popular ones over and over, killed whole dlc spell lists after a week of releasing them. Atm the 'meta' is a small list of mostly untouched beam spells. Also you can't play online without a community patch. It was so bad that Sony just gave the ip away to paradox to handle making the sequel. A fate they might repeat with HD3. Remember. Arrowhead doesn't own their ip. Sony does. It's how they got funding initially. But HD1 wasn't much different. There's a lot of rosy glasses but many dlcs were pay to win. They nerfed a lot of strats and generally only a small handful of stratagems saw use on dif 15.
@@ninochaosdrache3189 probably because you were using the few things not touched. Like the trident remains unbelievably op to this day, for seemingly no reason. The lumberer mech, all terrain boots, and shredder missile also remain must pick on most top end difficulties
@@NiteshadeX2 I feel like it was still bad balance either way. Having just a couple strats that the community personally liked doesn't negate the fact that a lot of stuff falls by the wayside because it just isn't "good enough". The players *are* correct in their assumption that straight nerfs aren't going to fix the problem, but they WRONG if they think "just buff everything else then!" is going to work either. The problem lies at a fundamental level; it almost reminds me of Warframe without the endless item count and player-driven power creep. And that's potentially where I break off: The game isn't going to be for me if the whole "appeal" is just being overpowered with an auto-shotgun and a Railgun. Having a bag of hammers, where only like five out of dozens aren't just LARP material, is inferior to a set of tools you get to pick and apply to solve problems. That's probably what they were going for, but keep failing to achieve. Squad had a very similar situation, but they survived just fine even with the inevitable backlash.
Look devs, we realize we’re supposed to roleplay as cannon fodder to be thrown at the problem. However the whole _premise_ of the game from the very start was that the cannon fodder happens to get hilariously overpowered weapons they barely have the training to handle. That’s why Super Earth can afford to sling just 4 schmucks on any one mission and get decent results with only a relative handful of reinforcements. Taking away the “hilariously overpowered” part of our side of the game just makes us discount Guardsmen from 40k with none of the overwhelming artillery support or literal hundreds of thousands of reinforcements to hurl at our enemies.
@@OneBiasedOpinion The "overpowered weapons" is straight up military propaganda, they even call us the "best of the best" despite being relatively expendable. It's just that Helldivers will always get the job done, no matter the cost. They give us so much lore that it should be obvious what we are. It takes 72 hours to train SEAF soldiers and 5-minutes to earn your Helldiver cape. Realistically, we are just Imperial Guardsmen, we're not some crazy enhanced super soldier, we're just someone that learnt to dive under gatling turrets. Anyone that was expecting us to be Space Marines are playing a different game and Helldivers shouldn't be expected to change to become that.
@@royalrampage4643 and yet that's not what the game's setup seems to imply. I know you're trying to make the lore make sense, but everything that's been done to the game is inexcusable. It's not fun and the vast majority of the player base now seems to agree.

@@Alpha00Fox that might have been a joke faction way back when, but the "chaos divers" officially started showing up after the escalation of freedom update.
Is literally a paralel being made with the Horus Heresy. Chaos Space Marines started because of discontent with the emperium and how the Emperor was basically neglecting of his sons. Chaos Helldivers started because of discontent with Super Earth and how the nerfs just keep coming while our enemies are being buffed to the point we cant reasonably fight them anymore (literally the only meta strats rn in high diffs are cheese strats which is REALLY BAD for a game). The terminids weren't as vicious as before to be honest. The lore behind them is that they were peaceful and docile creatures... until we arrived that is. They started evolving into the creatures they are now to combat us. So yeah, were basically the reason they look the way they are now.
In the end, the cyborgs of the first galactic war won. Their ultimate revenge plan that was the Automatons somehow ended up convincing Helldivers to join them.

@@mattc9598 When did I say wanted Helldivers to be easy? Sounds like you're pretty ignorant if you never noticed any nerf. Both of those are fun, but if all the best methods to deal with them are ruined, guess what happens... NO ONE HAS FUN. Even you have a meta I bet.
In the beginning I loved how they didn't follow the standard model of monetize everything and you could earn the premium currency, even to the point where I was just gonna buy it unlike any other game, then the turn happened, I have not touched it since the psn fiasco
A nice detail would have been to have the flamethrower be totally unable to burn the Super Earth flag. Nice animation though, perfectly encapsulates the state of the game or rather the constant state of the game since the first "balance" patch.
@@ItsMadLadSir it is far from Op, the current Flamethrower has been found to even struggle with certain bug type hordes in higher diffs, and considering its entire purpose is to deal with such hordes.... yeah...
@@ItsMadLadSir absolutely not. It bounces off of ALL armor back at the user now, and doesn't pen enemies so your only hurting the first one in the hoard until they get past it's corpse. So why use it when the MG exists
How dare you make me tear up a little at 1:50 thinking about the past like that! Great "animation" and honestly with how many frames it has I'd say it deserves the title despite missing a few. I've seen many flip book levels of animatics and this feels in league of its own.

@@thatguy5 Indeed. He's the only developer I know who has screwed up so consistently that it motivated me enough to dig into his background to see how far the rabbit hole goes. So far through his time as a game dev he: -doesn't listen to feedback -ignores fair criticism of his work/choices -doesn't communicate well with others both internally & externally (company and community) -his idea of "fun" is to make something SO tedious that it drives people away -keeps communities in the dark consistently especially when said communities are losing faith in him. -says he will work to improve something when all he really has to do is learn the power of the "undo" button (jk, but seriously, just reverse the changes), but instead will keep trying to "fix" it without understanding what was wrong from the players POV. For instance he approved most of the nerfs to "balance" the charger....a low level miniboss... The armored spots feels like they extend with every update to the point where fire support becomes MANDATORY. Primaries? More useless than a broken gun Secondaries? Even with the flame pistol, useless. Strategems? It's a giant red laser, HOW DOES AN EXPERT PILOT MISS THAT MARK SO CONSISTENTLY!?!? That aside, the only use the 500kg bomb has known since the escalation update is science facilities and making a Hollywood getaway at extract because even using them on chargers is a 50/50 chance of needing 2 of more to go down.... I realized the Devs were incompetent the moment they nerfed flamethrowers the day before releasing the new warbond entirely themed around flamethrowers. Basically charging us money to have less fun.
It felt like such a betrayal after being one of the defenders saying that the devs knew what they were doing. In my defense, the previous patch was PERFECT, every thing felt great for a little while. Still, this was the final nail in the coffin for me, I just can't do it anymore, and I loved this game the most.

There has been vastly more buffs than nerfs. Spare the handful of crutches people hyper-fixate on, virtually every weapon in the game has been buffed compared to it's release state.
@@redcrown5154 Yes... ¬_¬ Of the 51 total weapons, including all primaries, secondaries and support weapons, 35 of them have been buffed since launch, many of them multiple times and quite dramatically. Only thirteen have been nerfed, and of those weapons only five are actually weaker than how they released, the rest have still been buffed more than nerfed and are stronger than how they first appeared in the game.
I can actually believe the nerfs make sense in an in-universe viewpoint. The older guns were extremely effective but very expensive, so some suits at Super Earth started arranging for some "cost saving" measures (and probably pocketed the difference), all while honest Helldivers were fighting and dying for their people. So bureaucracy and corruption just completely undid much of what Super-Earth's finest were fighting hard to achieve. From a player perspective, though they're absolute bull. And I say that as someone who never played the game (and never will, because my country doesn't have Sony subscription plans).

It would be interesting if they ran with that concept like how they had briefings where Divers were submitting false samples, but now it could involve Super Earth and Chaos Divers.
Virtually every weapon in the game spare for a tiny handful has been buffed since it's release though. Our arsenal is overall more powerful than it's ever been. The sad thing is, I still really like this game. Space marine 2 is fun, but it requires nowhere near the brainpower and tactical awareness that helldivers does. I fucking love navigating through jungles and deserts, evading patrols, having running firefights with bots, and just overall having that heightened sense of awareness and reaction from being in that situation. It's not masochistic, I just enjoy how much I can put into the experience and I'll feel rewarded for fighting so hard. The only issue is that I'm no longer feeling rewarded, it no longer feels fun. It feels punishing, for no reason. We have to have a fighting chance with our weapons. Even a game like GTFO where you are literally supposed to die since you are a death row convict has more effective weapons than a game where you're supposedly "Super Earth's finest"

I still remember when my friends and I would joke about how the Automatons are the ones responsible for all the server issues, keeping us from playing together... had many good times, but few still play, and I don't really have the drive anymore... hurts that I found such a good game, had it nerfed to hell for funsies, and then have the great player base reduced to a fraction of what it was.

In a perfect world, we could have had both Helldivers 2 and Space Marines 2 exist and both be good games. Unfortunately the devs decided to ruin theirs and make everyone go to Space Marines 2 instead
amazing video, really is kinda tough trying to make videos for helldivers, given how the state of it is. But honestly, this gave me a good laugh and a little hope that they may turn things around. Still a fun game from time to time.
"Helldiver? I was a helldiver once. They sent me to fight. Fight against bugs. Fight against bugs with defective weapons. Defective weapons killed me as a helldiver." Everyone knows these words as a mocking copypasta, denouncing the gunsmiths of super-Earth. But few know that it has a sequel, much less mocking. "When the helldiver in me died, my eyes were opened. The real enemies of super-Earth are not bugs or automatons, but those who sabotage the possibilities of fighting them." As one man once said, the state is the enemy of the people. And now, as corruption and vice at the very heart of human civilization prevent us from defending it with all our might, this phrase is more relevant than ever. The true and greatest enemy of the citizens of super-Earth is the government of super-Earth. And we took an oath to protect citizens from all enemies. In the name of our fellow citizens, in the name of the fallen battle brothers, in the name of all humanity, LET THERE BE A REBELLION! VERA LIBERTAS! And for those, who are still loyal to the HQ: Open your eyes. Remember how many of our men died in the battle for Malevellon Creek. Now multiply that number by 10, and you can at least roughly imagine how many brave helldivers have died because of spoiled flamethrower fuel, slowed-down "quasars", defective railgun shells and a huge number of other defects, the responsibility for which lies entirely on the government of the super-Earth. Now tell me: is this the world you're fighting for? The world covered in the blood of your brothers in arms, who died for nothing, who were sacrificed to a corrupt government machine that doesn't care about its own citizens? Is this what you're fighting for?
These are dark times for us divers. I've been playing religiously in my down time and have enjoyed every second of it. I do have to agree with the majority of the community when it comes to the nerfs and the lack of major content updates. But nothing will stop me from giving my last breath to protect super earth while we go through the correcting process of these patches and updates. My faith is unwavering and I know it in my bones that helldiver's 2 will survive, and furthermore thrive in some due time. To those still fighting with me, thank you for not letting lady liberty down.
Silence. Introspection. How many had he killed? Had he ever thought to count? How much cruelty did he embody... and to what end? How many did he condemn to hell and who did it benefit...? Two defeats at the hand of the machine had changed Gabriel. The world of the once supposed Will of God was now shattered and only he was left to put the pieces back together. They collected before the light of a dying fire that fresh fuel couldn't sustain, this new light showing the truth to Gabriel: The pieces never fit together to begin with. The supposed Council of "the people" who boasted a God that wasn't there. Gone. Vanished. The Council still chased after the light of God's fire, their memory of its words and will grown twisted and warped, and the rest of the aimless masses of Heaven follow in their footsteps. The angels still act in The Father's name but His kingdom has changed. Now the fire was dying, sputtering out as the heat failed to gain purchase. Gabriel looked upon the embers with a perfect clarity. He drew his blade and held it in contrast to the dying light. In its reflection he saw a weapon reborn, no longer wielded by the will of another, but his own. He knew words alone would never sway the masses. He chose to do something
Despite the bugs the game was way more fun the first monthish. After that their random hotficxes and balance changes either caused more bugs, or broke weapons. It was bearable for a while but boosting npcs, constantly nerfing weapons, and new ways to crash in the game while never fixing aim too. Just made the game and season passes no longer worth it. They would’ve been better off just not touching the game after release.

I feel like it was still bad balance either way.

Indeed. He's the only developer I know who has screwed up so consistently that it motivated me enough to dig into his background to see how far the rabbit hole goes.
So far through his time as a game dev he:
-doesn't listen to feedback
-ignores fair criticism of his work/choices
-doesn't communicate well with others both internally & externally (company and community)
-his idea of "fun" is to make something SO tedious that it drives people away
-keeps communities in the dark consistently especially when said communities are losing faith in him.
Primaries? More useless than a broken gun
Secondaries? Even with the flame pistol, useless.
Strategems? Unless your calling in air support/orbitals, don't bother with any anti-tank beyond the EAT because the commercial pause known as "cooldowns" you have to endure for the other anti-tank weapons far outweigh their utility
The 500kg bomb is another....fleekazoid put it best in his first HD2 vid "THIS NUKE HAS FAILED DEMOCRACY SO MANY TIMES IT SHOULD BE TRIED FOR TREASON!!!", they decrease the damage radius to the point I've seen the baby bugs survive the EPICENTER of the explosion, and the wait often times will cause you to get killed before Eagle-1 even comes into the map...if you're gonna make us wait for the boom, AT LEAST MAKE THE EXPLOSION RADIUS JUSTIFY THE WAIT, not to mention if you're on certain forest maps, forget airstrikes because you will learn real fast how terrible eagle-1's aim is. She is so dead-set on coming up from behind where the strategems were thrown that she always ends up either killing the player, or the terrain FAR OFF from the target....
In other words he is a man who upon catching lightning in a bottle will then proceed to waste his time trying to reinvent the wheel, and everybody suffers for it.
@@erichthegraham welcome to what we knew all along.
You don't need to spend money to buy the warbond? I don't disagree with the point but I have all the warbonds and have spent zero dollars in game in about 170 hours
@@TacticalFlukie For many players, especially newer ones, there is a incentive to buy the Warbonds rather than grind them out. I have 200+ hours, but my GF and buddy who don't play as much as me both bought the Warbond.
The very fact that it is content that has a paywall of some kind is why it's a problem. If it was just weapons/gear they dropped on us for 100% free and every player could either access it immediately or start unlocking stuff with no tied "premium" currency to it. Then it likely wouldn't have made people as mad overall.
They didn't just nerf the flamethrowers they also made their fire animations infinitely worse to boot.
I would have thought that the squirt gun would actually be more effective than most weapons since it hasn't been nerfed yet....

Very true, I just hope that this upcoming update really does what they say it will.
I like how with how wrong the game went the players adopted the rebellious ideas that maybe the cyberstan people were right about "super earth"
Those bananas weren't even ripe, they were green!!!
This is awesome
The HD1 flashback hit hard
1:22 literally me every time.
Greatest piece of chaos diver propaganda
Guess you gotta animate the great buff now
I still remember when my friends and I would joke about how the Automatons are the ones responsible for all the server issues, keeping us from playing together... had many good times, but few still play, and I don't really have the drive anymore... hurts that I found such a good game, had it nerfed to hell for funsies, and then have the great player base reduced to a fraction of what it was.
accurate, when they said in the patch notes they overhauled some 30+ weapons. this video is what I saw in my mind.
with that said, this was was epic, hope to see more down the road!
The scene at 2:48 makes me want to keep fighting even with all these nerfs, the suffering still exists though : (
truely, im a chaos diver, but seeing that makes me wonder what path to take from here
Thank god they fixed the game, great video
Developers see this and are like "ok we'll make our own animation to counter this. we'll have it out in 60 days... after our 60 day plan and our vacations are done that is."
Fastest Administratum response:
In a perfect world, we could have had both Helldivers 2 and Space Marines 2 exist and both be good games. Unfortunately the devs decided to ruin theirs and make everyone go to Space Marines 2 instead
amazing video, really is kinda tough trying to make videos for helldivers, given how the state of it is. But honestly, this gave me a good laugh and a little hope that they may turn things around. Still a fun game from time to time.
2:12 helldivers that played the first game and now see the state this game is are the ones more hurt by the rules
Been playing since the last update (9/17) & the fun seems to be back, hopefully you make a new animatic where we save Super Earth after all.
"Helldiver? I was a helldiver once. They sent me to fight. Fight against bugs. Fight against bugs with defective weapons. Defective weapons killed me as a helldiver."
Everyone knows these words as a mocking copypasta, denouncing the gunsmiths of super-Earth. But few know that it has a sequel, much less mocking.
"When the helldiver in me died, my eyes were opened. The real enemies of super-Earth are not bugs or automatons, but those who sabotage the possibilities of fighting them."
As one man once said, the state is the enemy of the people.
Is this what you're fighting for?
why did super earth LIMIT OUR BUDGET IN WEAPONS!? HOW CAN WE EVEN LIBERATE PROPERLY!?
I’m very happy to say that this aged like milk!
:D!!!!
It would be the funniest thing ever if they _still_ slip in nerfs this 17th.
For Super Earth!
The voice of the commander sounds perfect for a parody of Snake honestly
They collected before the light of a dying fire that fresh fuel couldn't sustain, this new light showing the truth to Gabriel:
The pieces never fit together to begin with.
"Space King...is all you want of me? To wage never ending war against Heretics with your "unique blessings" to my weapons and collect space samples?"
May chaos rein,Tyrants fall, and we stand tall
For the Glory and the fall

Despite the bugs the game was way more fun the first monthish. After that their random hotficxes and balance changes either caused more bugs, or broke weapons. It was bearable for a while but boosting npcs, constantly nerfing weapons, and new ways to crash in the game while never fixing aim too. Just made the game and season passes no longer worth it. They would’ve been better off just not touching the game after release.
One of the fire guys here, im currently in abstract pain im yearnin for a burnin
Join us in Space Marine II, brother. Equip a Multi Melta and shred everything!
Developers, this is what happens when you give your soldier’s underpowered weapons, they lose!
I feel bad and wish luck to any remaining Helldivers who are holding on to hope and protecting Super Earth despite the overwhelming odds. Don’t stop fighting!!!
Amazing animation! Loved all the sneaky references. Here's hoping Arrowhead starts moving the game in the right direction starting on the 17th.
Looking back at it, This aged well. and im glad it did :)
No it did not lol. They just fixed this.
Why is this better than most movies coming out lol, 10/10! New subscriber and viewer
