Throwing Knives are indeed strong, according to what some gameplays showcased... Like able to kill a regular Charger with three/four to the leg, four/five if it's a Behemoth variant!
This is what SEAF would show in the recruitment/training videos. Lorewise, 9.9/10, the diver would be ripped apart trying to solo anything bigger than the standard skeleton bot.
Throwing knives have exactly one use, and that's being the coolest way to kill chargers by far. They bypass chargers' leg armor for some reason. Four knives will bring one down. Pair with the Supply Pack for best results, since it refills all 8 knives per use.
I think a better perk for the 'peak physique' set would be removing the 50% extra melee, since that's somehow even worse, and replacing it with higher velocity grenade throws. Instead of an increase in range that 'servo assisted' gives you, it boosts the penetration of knives, like the 'cannon arm' perk in Wolfenstein. It could also allow grenades to stun an enemy for a few seconds if it hits them dead on, again like the ramshackles.
Fucking awesome. The only animation that I can think of that would be as cool of a Walker finisher as the one you showed would be a reference to how Luke takes down an AT-AT in ESB, but that would require a grapple and something a bit sharper than a knife.

You know, I've seen a lot of people joke that a helldiver would never be capable of the stuff in these vids, but I disagree. In game lore, it's heavily hinted that the youth of super earth are, in fact, trained to be soldiers. The only reason heldiver training is so short is to teach them how stragems and such work. They already know everything else. I mean, look at the training facilities we set up in bug space. They literally shut them down and turned them into "recreation" camp sites for youth scouts... and expendable doesn't mean ineffective.

All the training does not make you superhuman, let alone prepare you for a majority of what you face ingame. It also won't give you the ability to not get crushed to death by a devastator or hulk. The best weapon a Hell Diver has is their strategems, not a knife.
Yes, Helldivers are in fact elite. The reason the die so fast is because the enemy is so formidable and their missions are behind enemy lines that basically are special operations. Send 4 helldivers in any conflict zone on Earth today with all stratagems and they would end most conflicts in weeks or days.

However on the ground their weapons and tactics wouldn't be too out of left field for a conventional army. For starters, Hell Diver armor and equipment isn't always up to par, especially when considering they don't have integrated nods or thermals, an essential tool in any modern conflict. Not to mention no one in Hell Divers 2 utilizes or can bypass concealment, especially the Hell Divers who donn themselves in distinct and/or bright colors and engage their enemies out in the open (which is fine in the context of that universe because the Automatons do the same thing). In an open field conflict I could see a standard squad doing relatively fine, depending on how fast a conventional quick response force would be (hopefully not to the level of the United States). However put them in a conflict such as the one in Israel/Palestine and they're going to be bogged down quickly.
Man, a Scout Strider one where he hoists himself up to the driver seat, grabs and dangles the pilot by the leg in front of the cannons, and fires it would be so damn awesome
Honestly, these animations are lovely - I get bored of finishers so fast in Space Marine 2 and Destiny and everything else, I hope we never see this in HD2. Looks jank from other angles, breaks the flow.
This is what the typical Diver recruit thinks they’re going to be doing right out of basic training (they are actually going to blow themselves up with their own air strike)
My crazy-ass imagined there would be some Rocket Devastator melee finisher where the Helldiver leaps onto the Devastator and grabs one or two of it's rockets, jumping back while throwing one or two at it's blaster arm/face And there's GOTTA be something with the Heavy Devastator's shield, there HAS to be

A while ago, I landed on top of a factory strider's heavy cannon while reinforcing, tossed a thermite on its back, shot a few bots with the Eruptor, and dove off when the thermite detonated. Coolest kill ever.

Id love to see these as an actual game mechanic, maybe performing them refills your stamina / health or cooldowns like resetting equipped jump pack cd or refreshing personal shield but you are obviously vulnerable while doing them

I will say, the hulk one could definitely do well with the hulk flailing about, trying to use the saw to cut him off his face. It’s phenomenal animations!!
They should add these finishers to the game, but also make them quick-time events that are more difficult to land based on the size of the enemy. That way it's more realistic and isn't a guaranteed kill 100% of the time you use it. You'd actually have to "get lucky" with such an extreme takedown, and if you fail, you'd probably end up dead and needing a reinforcement
If this existed I would finish every time I saw it. They should really really add this to the game considering how being stealthy is already a big aspect in the game. Especially for automatons
Don't get me wrong the animations are smooth but the executions themselves seem... a touch unbelievable. Like it's reasonable to believe a lot of these automatons would require explosives to take out and can easily overpower your average human. Thus I'd instead reccoment adjusting the stabbing areas to be limited to the eye sockets as they seem to be the least armored route into the central computer core. As well as this it would probably be important to see the diver using the automatons mass, weight, and limited movements against them. The hulk specifically would definitely require some kind of explosive. Maybe prying open a panel and shoving a grenade in there or something. Kinda like a halo tank. The factory strider... yeah I... really don't think that thing could be executed via a finisher less the diver managed to get inside of it and blow it up from there like some luke skywalker type stuff.
The only unreasonable thing I see is the Factory Strider. The tactics are certainly valid but the sheer bulk and armor that would go into it prevents this exact kind of scenario from playing out. I can't even break the legs like that with a rocket. Not to mention it's grenade dependent. You'd need some kind of special grenade and to have it equipped to pull that off. The rest are actually pretty feasible since they only require a bog-standard generic combat knife that can be easily animated into the belt and you can easily incorporate the sidearm bits into ALL the sidearms. Just increase the number of shots for the lower caliber ones. Overall this was fun to watch!
I would love melee finishers on Hulks, just because it encourages players to either hit it with as much ordinance as possible, or try to get in close and finish it manually, giving people more ways to approach the challenge that hulks bring
Dude just threw super-knifes at a strider with perfect throws, taking out the leg, making it fall, then opened up the headpiece like he was Batman ripping a bolted vent off a wall.
Great camera work and pacing... Glory Kills would be a really, really neat addition to HD2. Like with DOOM and GoW, it would be an exciting way to give your fingers and brain a brief break from scrambling a chaotic battlefield.
On wire cutter you could make it a bit smoother by making him kick tue knife down after he climbs up and make it seem as tho the leverage poped it out. I really like your work man everything ive seen has been prettu top notch stuff

Note in a fast paced swarm game like this, the epic takedown costs seconds you don't have, so it would balance out.
