I tried this recipe for my family it overall went well though I suggest to anyone who makes it to double the sauce for it, otherwise it turned out super good I really enjoyed it and will definitely make it again.

Hey Joshua, i made this last night for my family (I’m 15) and they were very impressed and it tasted amazing. I love your vids, your vibes, and your cooking. Keep up the good work.
OK.... several comments. (1) Don't use CORN starch. Use POTATO starch. It's much, much better. Try it. You'll see why. (2) After coating your chicken, PUT IT IN THE REFRIDGE! TRUST ME. This will allow the coating to set up and harden a bit. I've cooked professionally and made (literally) thousands of pieces of chicken. Getting it cold first is so much better. (3) USE PEANUT OIL. The smoke-point is higher and it just works better. Instead of 375... try 380 for the first batch. The temp of the oil will drop (so pace the cooking sessions) and let it come back up to temp before doing the 2nd and 3rd batches. (4) To your sauce... Add two or three tablespoons of Orange marmalade. (5) Instead of the juice of one orange... try 1/8 to 1/4 cup of OJ concentrate. It gives more of a punch of orange.

They're a lot better than he or many would make them out to be but only if you get a good location. My Papa Johns near me in particular I've seen making the dough or the pizza hut near my cousin always has better crust than the one near me. I've heard of and had wildly different products from the same chains and I believe it can even change based on who's in making the food. I think the best experience is usually in a city but not in a major city.

I am so proud of myself ok!! So I've never had, nor cooked tofu before, but I'm trying to be healthy and I want to expand my palette. Tbh I don't even know if this orange chicken sauce is even healthy but whatever!! I wanted orange (chicken) tofu!! So I followed the recipe exactly, minus the wine, double fermented soy sauce (I used regular), the Fresno chilies (I just put some red pepper flakes :,)), and the chinkian vinegar. I made some plain white rice, and I dried my tofu as well as I could. I didn't marinate the tofu in anything, I just coated it in corn starch, garlic powder, paprika, and salt & pepper. I put that in the air fryer for 6 min on 400. Then I took them out, added more corn starch, and put it in for another 6 min on 400. They were pretty crispy. I tossed them in the sauce and realized they weren't as crispy as I wanted them and I REALLY didn't want to ruin this for myself. I wanted to like the tofu. So I put them BACK in the air fryer for 6 min on 400 (keep in mind they have sauce on them). When they came out they were kinda sticky but they were crispy!! I tossed them in the sauce, plated the tofu with the rice, and added some green onion. Literally. So. Good. This is the best orange chicken sauce I've been able to make. Any other copycat recipe just wasn't good for some reason. But gosh Joshua this was good. I am so glad your sauce recipe has helped me try out tofu. Honestly, it didn't taste bad at all. Tasted like chicken! Try. This. Guys!!
Josh, I've tried several recipes for Orange Chicken, and this one is the best. Hands down! First time my chicken has come out crispy. The sauce has a nice orange flavor (as expected), but not quite as much spice as would have liked. I think Thai Peppers might do it for me next time. Now for a little bit of a critique. Update: I made this recipe last night and my kids love it. It's one of my daughter's favorite recipe. She said, the breading has no flavor but she like the crispiness, the sweet and tangy flavor. It reminds me of sweet and sour pork😋. We use chicken bouillon because we don't have MSG. Next time I make this recipe again, I'll be adding a little chicken bouillon or msg to cornstarch and flour mixture. In conclusion, we decided not to buy orange chicken in Panda Express anymore. 😁

I’d like to thank you for this video, josh. Instead of going on orange chicken, I decided to make my own style of what I call, honey bbq garlic chicken. The sauce took a while but at the end, I made 3 batches of chicken and they’re all gone. My opinion 8/10. Would be much better if I had some better ingredients from scratch but I’m happy overall. OK.... several comments. (1) Don't use CORN starch. Use POTATO starch. It's much, much better. Try it. You'll see why. (2) After coating your chicken, PUT IT IN THE REFRIDGE! TRUST ME. This will allow the coating to set up and harden a bit. I've cooked professionally and made (literally) thousands of pieces of chicken. Getting it cold first is so much better. (3) USE PEANUT OIL. The smoke-point is higher and it just works better. Instead of 375... try 380 for the first batch. The temp of the oil will drop (so pace the cooking sessions) and let it come back up to temp before doing the 2nd and 3rd batches. (4) To your sauce... Add two or three tablespoons of Orange marmalade.
(5) Instead of the juice of one orange... try 1/8 to 1/4 cup of OJ concentrate. It gives more of a punch of orange.

They're a lot better than he or many would make them out to be but only if you get a good location. My Papa Johns near me in particular I've seen making the dough or the pizza hut near my cousin always has better crust than the one near me.
I've heard of and had wildly different products from the same chains and I believe it can even change based on who's in making the food. I think the best experience is usually in a city but not in a major city.
My town doesn't have any takeaways other than local businesses (no chains) but the next town over has a KFC, McDonald's and a Dominoes. The closest thing we have to a chain restaurant/ takeaway is a Costa lol

I am so proud of myself ok!!
So I've never had, nor cooked tofu before, but I'm trying to be healthy and I want to expand my palette. Tbh I don't even know if this orange chicken sauce is even healthy but whatever!! I wanted orange (chicken) tofu!!
So I followed the recipe exactly, minus the wine, double fermented soy sauce (I used regular), the Fresno chilies (I just put some red pepper flakes :,)), and the chinkian vinegar. I made some plain white rice, and I dried my tofu as well as I could. I didn't marinate the tofu in anything, I just coated it in corn starch, garlic powder, paprika, and salt & pepper. I put that in the air fryer for 6 min on 400. Then I took them out, added more corn starch, and put it in for another 6 min on 400. They were pretty crispy. I tossed them in the sauce and realized they weren't as crispy as I wanted them and I REALLY didn't want to ruin this for myself. I wanted to like the tofu. So I put them BACK in the air fryer for 6 min on 400 (keep in mind they have sauce on them). When they came out they were kinda sticky but they were crispy!! I tossed them in the sauce, plated the tofu with the rice, and added some green onion. Literally. So. Good. This is the best orange chicken sauce I've been able to make. Any other copycat recipe just wasn't good for some reason. But gosh Joshua this was good. I am so glad your sauce recipe has helped me try out tofu. Honestly, it didn't taste bad at all. Tasted like chicken! Try. This. Guys!!

Josh, I've tried several recipes for Orange Chicken, and this one is the best. Hands down! First time my chicken has come out crispy. The sauce has a nice orange flavor (as expected), but not quite as much spice as would have liked. I think Thai Peppers might do it for me next time. Now for a little bit of a critique. You're speaking really fast. Makes it a bit difficult to follow. Lots of rewinding to catch the important parts.

Update: I made this recipe last night and my kids love it. It's one of my daughter's favorite recipe. She said, the breading has no flavor but she like the crispiness, the sweet and tangy flavor. It reminds me of sweet and sour pork😋. We use chicken bouillon because we don't have MSG.
Next time I make this recipe again, I'll be adding a little chicken bouillon or msg to cornstarch and flour mixture. In conclusion, we decided not to buy orange chicken in Panda Express anymore. 😁

I’d like to thank you for this video, josh. Instead of going on orange chicken, I decided to make my own style of what I call, honey bbq garlic chicken. The sauce took a while but at the end, I made 3 batches of chicken and they’re all gone. My opinion 8/10. Would be much better if I had some better ingredients from scratch but I’m happy overall.
