I think the main reason Wakanda got to be so technologically advanced was vibraniums medicinal properties. The main thing that prevented large scale settlements and agriculture in Africa was malaria, and I assume vibranium infused plants may have been used as a cure. With no diseases or enemies, they could focus on cultural, societal and technological advancements.
Actually large scale settlements in Africa weren't common mainly because there simply was a lack of incentive for such settlements. Most African tribes, clans, etc did not see particularly large settlements as necessary.
Technically they did win, considering Thanos's invasion force was decimated, his best minions killed and Thanos himself being severely injured and forced to retreat. Sure it cost half of the universe, but what doesn't cost half a universe now a days?
Final Fantasy XIV has a new expansion coming, and it has some pretty cool lore. Would love to see something on the Garlean Empire, or maybe the Dragonsong War.

I love how Wakanda is r entirely fantasy and sci-fi. They use a lot of real world elements. One being the language Xhosa which is spoken in Southern Africa. Another is the Monkey God, Hanuman who is a Hindu god but is worshipped by the Jabari. And lastly, there is Bast, who, in Wakanda is a Panther Goddess. But in actuality, Bast is the Cat Goddess of Ancient Egypt.
I never knew why Hanuman was written into the lore of Wakanda, but Bast actually makes sense being that Wakanda is based off of several African cultures across the continent.

The actual connection as portrayed by the factual African takeover of Egypt dynasty is not in comics or the movie. I don't think the cover-up of the African Pharaoh dynasty was known outside of academic circles until way after the comics were written.

Weirdly, in a comic book universe of gods and near-gods, magic and super science, mutates and Inhumans, the most far-fetched thing in the Marvel universe is the existence of a place like Wakanda.
I wouldn’t bring it up for anyone else, but you guys have set a rather high standard for script quality, and I feel it’s only fair to hold you up to it. That being said, I don’t think one “develops” achievments? I feel like it should have been “developed such and such technologies” or “produced such and such achievements” or something like that. @@afroartist1086 Egyptian influence is obvious in MCU Black Panther as well as comics. The actual connection as portrayed by the factual African takeover of Egypt dynasty is not in comics or the movie. I don't think the cover-up of the African Pharaoh dynasty was known outside of academic circles until way after the comics were written.
@@tristanmendoza4628 I'm still not entirely sure where you're getting at here. Egypt was already a Black civilization in the pre-dynastic era as well as from about the 1st to 18th dynasties. The Kushite invasion that came later only reinstated Black rule for the 25th dynasty for a time.

Weirdly, in a comic book universe of gods and near-gods, magic and super science, mutates and Inhumans, the most far-fetched thing in the Marvel universe is the existence of a place like Wakanda.

That being said, I don’t think one “develops” achievments? I feel like it should have been “developed such and such technologies” or “produced such and such achievements” or something like that.
