Hey man, I really liked this review. I'm old af so I have lots of great memories of going to see Weezer in concert in the 90s and early 2000s and your hype brought a lot of those feelings back. This is one of my favorite albums. I always loved that every single track on this album was an absolute banger, absolutely no skips. That isn't as big a deal now that streaming is how most people listen to music, but back in the day when you were listening to a CD it was great that you could just put the album in and listen to it all the way through. I really liked their sophomore album, Pinkerton, as well, but I really feel like Weezer fell off after that, which might be why you've always thought of them as a meme band, but those first two albums are amazing.

In Terms Of Other Albums From Them You Should Hear I Would Recommend Pinkerton - 1996 Maladroit - 2002 The Red Album - 2008 Everything Will Be Alright In The End - 2014 The White Album - 2016 Ok Human - 2020
The reason you would've heard great things and bad things about this band is because after this album, their albums all received pretty mixed reception. There's still a ton of fantastic material to hear from them but I'd say Blue is their best album overall. Their follow-up, Pinkerton, was received badly at its release but since its release, has been considered a masterpiece by a lot of people with people debating whether Blue or Pinkerton is their best album. After Pinkerton is where things start to go downhill with the Green album. It's an ok album but due to the bad reception Pinkerton received at the time, the band went in a very different direction. The follow up to Green, called Maladroit, is a very underrated album imo but that album is followed up by some of the band's weakest albums to date: Make Believe, Red album and Raditude. After that things start to pick up again but Weezer throughout their discography has always gone through cycles of good and bad. I don't think you will find anybody who thinks all of their albums are great. The album is from 1994 but bands from the 2000s definitely would've been inspired by this album, so it's not unsurprising that you're getting 2000s vibes
I bet your very glad to hear this, but boywithuke has set aside the Uke, his next single doesn’t have any Uke in it, he also destroyed a Ukulele during a concert indicating he was done with it
Nah weezer is still great just based off their first two records; blue album and Pinkerton, which are truly masterpieces of 90s albums but after Matt sharp left the band that’s when it started going downhill and people were able to make fun of them. You should check out Matt sharp’s side band, ‘the rentals,’ their first album “return of the rentals” is a great album

As a fan, no, this isn't true. Even after Sharp left, there's still stuff from Weezer that's worth checking out like White, EWBAITE, and OK Human. Maybe give those other three a chance rather than pulling that "Weezer isn't good after Pinkerton" when it's not true. Hell, I reckon YOU WILL EVEN LOVE White's songs like Do You Wanna Get High? Because that song sounds like a Pinkerton song. Yes, the band released "Can't Stop Partying" but there is still good stuff that comes out from the band.
@KlooKloo, you haven't listened to OK Human. OK Human is their most honest work since Pinkerton, and the same goes for EWBAITE. EWBAITE scratches that "Blue" itch. Jake Sinclair told Rivers to write something about himself, which he did. Hence why "Do You Wanna Get High?" exists. It's so tiring to hear people dismiss "Modern Weezer" just because they heard "Can't Stop Partying" once on the radio back in 2009. Weezer has released a lot of good stuff past Pinkerton and Blue, so it's definitely still worth giving the band a listen. I get it, Blue and Pinkerton are Weezer's masterpieces, but there are other Weezer masterpieces like White, EWBAITE, and OK Human. Give those four albums a listen. The reason why Rivers hasn't piggybacked on Blue and Pinkerton's sound, even though he's open and capable of writing something like that, is because he just chooses not to. He doesn't want to do the same old things and just wants to experiment with different sounds.
