As for me. I’ve had these type of shells before. Compact, storage, and good conversation pieces. Stove is to high. Sits above 4x4 fat and wide tires (get your clothes dirty). I feel like these would be good if you don’t have Decked storage. Got me a new vehicle and ended up getting a compact overland trailer instead lol.
The stove is definitely not practical on this particular set up. It works very well for a lot of people who have stock Jeeps. I have it on mine just so I can show people who come into the show room what it looks like. But I actually really like having the decked system and the RSI Smartcap both for storage. We travel in a large group since we have five children and they’re in multiple Jeeps. But I am the only one carrying all of the food in gear. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. Thinking about one of these for my wife's Gladiator. The kitchen was pretty cool. The only negative about the kitchen is the stove ended up being pretty high. They are expensive; however, they are cheaper than doing some of the "half caps" that are available which are about $3,500.00 to over $6,000.00. Too bad you are up in Ohio. I would have you price one of these for me.
Honestly if i were to get one for my gladiator id get the bare bones one and put my roam vagabond xl on it, I think that would be pretty sick. However, i do not have that kinda of money laying around but definitely a cool thought for the future
I like these, but my question is, with a slightly lifted truck, how is it accessing the BBQ with pots/pans on it as got to see what you are cooking to see if it's made or now.
Lol. The burners are a bit high on a gladiator with 37s and 4.5 lift. We are lowering them soon. I want to see how much we will actually use those burners over the jet boil genius. Thanks for watching.
Super ez to mount with or without trail tail. 3.5 inch lift on 37s makes the burners a tad tall for a guy who’s 5-8. Lol. Love it all but I will have to see how the the hight works out looking.
33 inches from top of decked system to rear glass opening. I had to go to our decked system video and look at a comment I sawed there. Thanks for watching and subscribing if you haven’t.
Happy I found this video. I am considering the new decked system and either a RSI smart cap or an XTR1 rack. How your set up working for you now? Any changes you would make?
I love the cap and decked system together. I’d personally not get the kitchen. It’s on our unit just as a display for those who’s any to see it. Email us at leemenupfit@yahoo.com for some good pricing on both.
Good video. Thanks. Does the cap come without windows? I'd prefer no glass, and metal all around, except for maybe a sliding window up front at the cab.
Yes. The cap we stock has no side windows. But they all have a rear window. There is an option for a security screen for the rear window. And they all have the sliding front window. If you would like a price email us At leemenupfit@yahoo.com.
If I'm not mistaken, I can see that your bed cap is warped from the clamping force where the ticket 2.5" paddings are. can you confirm? and if so, is it just aesthetic/cosmetic problem?
@@leemen thank you so much for your fast reply. much appreciated and apologies if I have said anything negative about it. I own a smart cap as well on my JT and noticed this and been researching to find out if it's just pure cosmetic/aesthetic issue. I've talked to people on the forums and said that over time the bed cap will be deformed. Just wanted to make sure that metal rail underneath the cap is ALL OK and sounds like just the cap has the problem with the weight added on top of it. This is not a big deal since bed caps are pretty cheap
I've wasted money on several cooking setups. Honestly, the best times seem to be when my wife makes some pb&js with chips, and I don't have to haul or pull out an entire kitchen to make food, lol. Everyone has their own system and cup of tea.
You need to be 8ft tall to use that stove

Very cool set up xx
@@QueenKattz thank you. It works well for us. What’s your set up?
I’d love to convert one or two of the windows on my hard top to something like this. I’ve seen a few Australians that have done it well.

@leemen what would you recommend for around $3000?
@@alisedighi3844 in a cap there isn’t anything for $3000 that’s quality really. I can get you 1 of these smart caps for under $4000
@leemen is it just the cap, or does it come with the kitchen? Have they fixed the locking mechanism?

The gap between the back window is my only gripe. Otherwise this thing is perfect.
The gap between the cab and the cap is only about 2 1/2 fingers thick. That doesn’t bother me at all.
Does it mount well with trail rails installed? Looks like any lift makes the kitchen kinda unusable.

Do you have to buy the side bins the same time you buy the cap or can you buy them and install at a later time.
YOU CAN BUY CAP NOW AND THEN FIGURE OUT BINS LATER. THANKS FOR WATCHING
Do you have to open the tailgate to open and close the rear window hatch?
Nope. The rear window opens and closes with tailgate up or down. Thanks for watching.
