Time travel huh? Emmet time travels in Avengers Endgame and kills Thanos with the glue confirmed.
In this case, Emmet is more of the Thanos in this situation, sending almost all the lego into the bins of doom..
This reveal is actually really sad when you think about it, if Emmet ends up as Rex in the future, this means that Emmet will eventually end up trying to kill all of his former friends, before being defeated and cast back into an uncertain future.

4:24 I took notice of how all the Apocalypseburg residents were intentionally dusty and rough looking except Emmet, yet didn't notice that. That is a nice touch.

One of my favorite easter eggs was the sign on Gandalf's staff that was a "no passing" road sign :'D
I think it was a "no parking" sign, but I didnt even think of it as a reference to "You shall not pass." That had to be what they were going for!

Now that I think about it, maybe they weren't brainwashed, just hypnotized, with Lucy just being resistant.

Unpopular opinion, I thought Rex was a better villain with way more nuance.
Favorite references:
1) president business going golfing aka every politician ever
2) I really liked that they mentioned Elliott Smith (right near where they reference Radiohead) since he used to be one of my favorite singers
3) when they said "meanwhile batman had a standalone adventure" aka the lego batman movie
President business going golfing was just a metaphor of the Dad staying out of Finn and Biancas fighting. He only returns once the fighting has stopped and they get along again.
Im surprised that you missed Rex saying “your such a Hufflepuff” in reference to Harry Potter. Hufflepuffs are generally cowardly, and the opposite of Griffendors.
That's not what they are supposed to be known as but just as Slytherins are thought of as "the evil ones", that is Hufflepuff's legacy. And it makes me sad.
Ravenclaw still is worse off though with the least amount of characters (and the movie changing them to blue-and-silver ravens instead of blue-and-bronze eagles)

After we saw Velma me and my boys got hyped because we thought Shaggy was gonna appear. I give the movie 8 out of 10 but it would've gotten 11 out of 10 if Shaggy showed up

How about how at the very end, we find out it was Lucy who was the lead singer of Everything is Awesome?
My favorite cameo was plants being strapped up in the house ship and I think that shows Emmets back to the way he was before alone and childish talking to a plant for company. Also that plenty was thrown out into space forgotten as red shows up to "save" him throughing away his only friend alert replacing it with him.

You should have added Rex also mentions cowboy and Pratt was a cowboy in magnificent 7 remake.
To be honest, I saw Rex saying "cowboy" as nothing more then just a hint towards the plot twist . After all, in the first movie, Lucy has Emmet wear a cowboy outfit when they are in the Wild West.
Even though it doesn't really look like it, I kept thinking that Rex's ship looks like PewDiePie's logo.

Rex's hair changed to Kai's hair from the Lego Ninjago movie when the heart that Wildstyle threw at him exploded. Also Rex's mask that was wearing when he saved Emmet looked like Master Chief's mask.
I mean it's not really a cameo, but I died when I realised the ice cream cone was voiced by Richard Ayoade

The big battle at the end of the movie where the raptors try to protect Rex’s ship looks like a reference to the big battle at the end of the first Guardians of the Galaxy
What about emmet buckling in his plant, an obvious reference to groot in Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2

Here I thought all of Rex's roles were just references to all the boy's toy themes in Lego over the years. All he was missing was being a knight.

I think Rex's ship should've been shaped like a sword and the name would be REXcalibur

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but in "three years", if he forgets to time travel back to the asteroid scene to save his past self, he will sort of change into "Rex", because if his past self doesn't get saved, he will hit the asteroid, fall into the dryer system, ant the whole movie will just repeat itself again and again and again.
